I've been shoving White Cottage pizza down my gullet since I was a kid. I remember the original 'store' if you can even call it that. A small hole in the wall in Wood Dale. This was our local pizza place and I was happy as a pig in sauce when they opened this store in Elgin. They've gone from that tiny place to a few larger stores. Good for them, I say. There's got to be something good about the pizza, right? You're double-dog-damn right there is. This is like crack in flat box. If I could light one corner and just inhale it, I would. Even from this new store I still love this stuff. It's a bit of cruise for me still, and I've got to pick up as they won't deliver to me in Saint Charles (get on that White Cottage, the pizza down here sucks), but once every couple of months I make the run then gobble this goodness down like a Roman pizza eating champion performing for Caesar in the Coliseum. I'll agree that their pricing can be a bit much. Calamari is like 10 bucks now, so I've stopped that habit and they're definitely not cheap, but just the nostalgia factor has me handing over my crumpled greenbacks every few months. I see other reviews commenting negatively on the service. I haven't had that displeasure and probably wouldn't notice if they slapped me and called me Nancy, such is the frothy state of borderline madness in which I usually arrive on their doorstep in anticipation of this tasty treat from yesteryear. Location: From the outside it just looks like a little fast food joint , like any other in elgin. With a Drive Thru!! Pizza: The thin crust pizza is awsome, the taste and the cheese are great. I work near here and we tend to order pizzas for delivery on a fairly regular basis. Pretty typical "Chicago burbs style" thin crust pizza. Had some of the fried appetizers before; really got the impression that they came out of a box. They were good and hot, but a bit bland. Service is good and fast. Delivery drivers are great about calling if they're not sure where to go, instead of driving around for a hour while your pizza gets cold. But be warned - their website is awful. Ordered pizza from here for the first time- with delivery- and found it to be good, but not great. We ordered a meat lovers, and also the spinach florentine pizza. We've decided we would have liked non-thin crust pizza better, but the pizza was good- with the perfect amount of cheese. Delivery was great- faster than they said it would be with a friendly driver. The person who took my order over the phone was also great- everything was accurate and she was very friendly. We will definitely try this place again- just with a different type of crust! read more

We really enjoy the pizza, it's been one of our favorites. But time and time again, the service is disappointing. We called tonight to order at 10:51p. The website states they close at midnight on a Saturday. I was told by the girl on the phone that the drivers had left for the night and they were not taking any more orders. How is that possible on a Saturday night? This is not the first time a situation like this has occurred. Overall it was a shock and thought this place is going to be Hugh and fancy. But it wasn't. It's very friendly and easy going atmosphere. I enjoyed the food. Kind of pricey but it was delicious. Attempted to order food through Grub Hub for delivery. Under the wings section, it states order as many sauces as you'd like, so we did as there were many to choose from. Got a call from the restaurant telling us we couldn't do that. Ok, that's fine as we were then told that we could break that down to 3 orders of 8 so we could get 3 different sauces. However, we'd need to cancel the order and redo it since there'd be a price change. Sorry...not going through all that when it would be a simple fix by the restaurant. Grub Hub actually reached out to me and assisted with cancelling the order. I advised them of the menu issue which they are addressing (which is good). My ultimate complaint is that simple math could have resolved this in an amicable way and possibly given White Cottage Pizza a pretty regular customer. 5* for Grubhub resolving this. read more

Moved into the area 4 yrs ago on move in day ordered a pizza from this location. When the delivery driver arrived he dropped the pizza right in front of me. I called and spoke wi the manager. He asked if i still wanted the pizza and a credit or if i wanted a new pizza. I took the dropped pizza and the credit. Fast forward a week i ordered another pizza expecting my credit. Manager said he wasnt goin to honor the credit and will have to pay for it. Needless to say i scratched White Cottage Pizza off my list. Fast forward to today...i gave White cottage Pizza another chance ordered my pizza and waited i receive a call from the driver that he is at my front door. He was at another address across town. I called the restaurant asking wat happened. He told that he confirmed the address. He was on speaker when we ordered the pizza and my guest and i never heard him confirm address. He then tells me and i quote "im not having this argument with you, your pizza is on its way". i grew up with the pizza from their Wood Dale location and never had an issue. But the Elgin location is a whole other story! Do not patronize the Elgin location unless of course u enjoy being lied to, and disrespected. I guess after 4 years nothing has changed. Pizza - 5 stars Service - 1 star We were regulars here b/c my son craved it - would stop by 1-2x/wk to get him 1 slice off their pizza-by-the-slice rounder warmer. My husband took him there one Saturday and the slices they got were old and cold, so he asked when they were going to make a fresh one and he would wait for that. The girl who was running the place that day, wearing an ECC sweatshirt, just looked at him with a snotty attitude and appeared very put-off, didn't apologize for giving them crappy product and huffed her way through ordering a new pizza from the back. They waited over 30 minutes for 2 slices of pizza. Again - she never once apologized. For my husband, there was no turning back once he promised my son he could have his favorite pizza, but he felt strongly that miss sweety-pants was punishing him for getting her up out of her chair to order a fresh and not old-n-cold pizza. Battle on. He stopped going there for several months and my son was turned off for good. Hubby told us to never go there again - it was out of the way anyway, so I was happy not to. We started getting Pizza Hut near our house for my son's pizza cravings and he likes that better now. Hubby started going back to White Cottage b/c he now says they are the best - hahahaha. But, if he sees that girl in there, he just turns around and walks away b/c he can't be sure of the quality when she is working. The boy and I don't care to go back, so at least 2 customers lost. Reminds me of the German Bread Basket I loved to go to in Atlanta-Stone Mountain - I always said the atmosphere is cozy, the food is mediocre and the service stinks - but it was one of my favorite places. I ordered from here last week, the food was very good with the exception of the "panini" I ordered, when i think of a panini i think of a grilled sandwiche not the cold sub that i received. Placed an order online, called the location when it didn't show up and was proceeded to be told if it doesn't come out of their fax machine there is nothing that could be done. Even though I had a emailed confirmation. Didn't offer and resolution nor cared that I didn't get my order. As a result I will NEVER order from them again and will give my business to other places who care about taking care of their customers. Technical glitches may happen (especially if you are still using fax machines) but the lack of customer services is not acceptable and I will not support a business who doesn't understand that and I suggest you do the same. read more

We ordered a Stadium pizza and another small on Halloween. The girl rang up the wrong ingredients so the pizza was made wrong which we didn't realize until after we were home with it. Pick up time was 45 minutes. We waited another 15 after that for it to finish cooking. When we called about the mistake they said they would deliver another in an hour and half! Not exactly feasible when you have a house full of people. We agreed but then the manager called back and said they'd only replace it with a smaller size unless we returned the original pizza. Again we were all starving so half was already gone! It took over an hour for the replacement to arrive. Next one of the kids found an inch long piece of metal baked into the crust of the smaller pizza. Metal!!! Well they just lost the business of 6 families that night. The girl on the phone acted like it was a bother to take my order. I decided to pick up and as I was driving though the parking lot I almost got sideswiped by a maniac who was speeding nad pulled into White Cottage and parked behind. I walked in and said something about the crazy person who must work there that almost killed me in the parking lot and I was basically ignored. They would not walk out and let me show them the car. I waited for my order about 10 minutes and mentioned it again to a gilr named Jade. She said they said something to the guy and I asked when he was coming to apologize to me and she told me he left on a delivery. No apology from her at all. Now to my order. I really like their chicken marsala. I order it with a bed of angel hair. They charged me $3 for the pasta. I ordered extra sauce. Got home and the container was 3/4 pasta and NO SAUCE. I cannot even taste marsala. It is just plain noodles. I think I am done here. I'll order the pizza from the one in Wood Dale when I am at work. So disappointed. Ordered 14" pepperoni and bacon. I specified 3 times, very clearly: Bacon on top of cheese, and the pepperoni under the cheese. The human on the phone heard it all 3 times. Yet the pizza comes with the pepperoni on top and hardly any bacon...and it was low quality bacon honestly. Absolutely incompetent front desk to allow the pepperoni to be on the cheese. Thanks for a filthy pizza. It was management that took the order by the way! Not some 17 year old high school kid.
