First time here and I like their menu, plenty of options to choose from. They have a good deal of different variety of tacos. I can't remember what I got but one of them was good, I think one of the beef item. Also got some sort of shrimp and it was not giving the best taste. Price is reasonable compared to other taco shops. The service is good. You order ahead at the desk and then choose where you want to sit. I recommend the fish taco and the steak taco, along with the nachos. The restaurant is always busy but it's nice because you can get in and out quickly. This is a place I wanted to like but just didn't pay it out. Arrived around 8 o'clock, which was relatively close to closing. They have a wide variety of fusion tacos. Good spot for a quick bite and hanging out with some friends. Arrived mid afternoon, 2pm on a Saturday, and it was not busy at all. We ordered a few tacos, queso, and churros. I had the steak taco which had a generous portion of protein and fixins. The queso was delicious too. And you can't go wrong with churros, especially if you have a sweet tooth as mean as mine! First I'm gonna start with the positive. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was casual, clean and comfortable. Ambience is cute. Lots of windows very open and the location was great. Loved it. I love the attempt at trying to be creative with the food. Sadly, if I had to rate it on the food alone it would be a 1 star. I'm from Arizona and pop up taco shops are everywhere where I'm from. It's ok to not have everything totally"authentic". That said, the inside of the taco really lacked flavor and the chicken was dry/flavorless. Should really consider working with corn tortillas because it will help with flavor as opposed to flour/harina. Plus it helps with the texture and I don't mean crispy but that could be an option as well. The salsas was bland as well. I reallly like the business name. Whew this place is a hit! I'm always kinda weary of taco spots because you truly just don't know how it's gonna turn out but this place did not disappoint. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and explained to me the tacos are listed in order of popularity which was extremely helpful in my decision making. I got the number one choice of steak and cheese and then the Bangkok shrimp one. Both were fabulous! A great place to get "REAL" tacos. We went on a Friday afternoon around 2:30. You order at the counter seat yourself and they bring your tacos to you. This isn't a traditional taco shop- the menu has many fusion & flavorful options such as Thai peanut chicken tacos, Bangkok shrimp & ceviche shrimp. My personal favorite IS the ceviche shrimp taco! This review is overdue. I tried this location for lunch via Uber Eats on Monday, 03-13-23. I ordered the Bangkok shrimp taco, Korean beef bulgogi taco, chips & queso, a kid cheese quesadilla, and a Mexican chocolate pot de creme. All of my Uber Eats orders are for both lunch & dinner as I'm usually using a voucher. I had plenty of food. The food was hot upon arrival. I enjoyed all the different flavors. I have to admit, I've driven by this place so many times and never thought about going here. My wife and I forgot to take something out for dinner, and she wanted tacos. This place has an amazing variety of choices, and we decided to try six of them and did takeout. There was plenty of parking, and I appreciated the dedicated spaces and the easy pick up on the shelf. My wife liked the steak and cheese, although she said the fish was a bit spicy for her taste. The thai chicken was not quite what I expected in that I thought there would be a satay sauce, and instead it was a nicely spiced chicken with peanuts. The gyro was good too, I liked the feta and diced tomatoes topping. The last two, the shrimp and general tso's were my favorites. They both had a nice level of spice, and the wontons in the General Tso's added a nice crunch to the taco. The restaurant was clean and the Staff were helpful and provided many food suggestions. I was excited to try this spot since my brother loves the Greenville location. He recommended the general tso and Bangkok shrimp as well as the house margarita and the chocolate pot de creme so I got all of the above. The general Tsos chicken was a little tough, but flavorful and the shrimp had a kick to it, but was really good. The margarita was exactly what I wanted. The chocolate pot de creme. I am normally a chocolate purist, but the flavor combination of the Graham cracker crunch and the cinnamon whip and the chocolate was chefs kiss. Having visited the original White Duck Taco Shop in Asheville my wife and I fell in love with the place. We were over the moon when this location opened just minutes away. An eclectic decorated shop with fun designs painted on the walls with fun colors and chalkboard menu boards hanging behind the register. When walking it I feel it boost the mood automatically. Placing orders is quick and painless however, deciding which tacos to get can take some time. Whatever the mood the tacos will not disappoint. I recommend getting two or three different tacos even though the mix of flavors might not seem to compliment each other. I always get the pork belly taco to start and am constantly trying the others with every visit. The tacos stay pretty consistent but there are changes with different offerings from time to time. We are also a fan of the chips and salsa trio. The food comes out pretty fast so you won't have much time to eat the chips before getting your meal. Tacos go great with beer and luckily White Duck has a decent selection. There are about four, maybe five, beers on tap and a couple of seltzer's and other drinks to choose from. They also serve margarita's and a few other mixed drinks too. Service is nice but it's kind of set up where there isn't much the staff would need to do for you. We stopped in for lunch today. Parking is great, although it looks like it's small from the road, there is an entire side lot to park as well. The location is clean, but reminds me of an authentic Mexican restaurant--not dirty, just very well loved. The menu is HUGE and offers an insanely huge selection of the weirdest tacos ever. There is a few "normal" items like steak tacos, quesadillas, and bean and cheese burritos--but you can get those anywhere. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for the last 2 years, this was one of our first date night spots and it is our go to dinner spot for when we are hungry! They an insane line up of crazy flavorful tacos and nachos and much more on their menu, they have great drinks, and even live music! This place is the bomb! And the prices are so affordable. The best part is that it is always the calmest place in matthews so it's perfect for families with kids and they have a playground and hammocks for the kids. We were told that their most popular taco is the "Steak & Cheese". So of course, we got that along with the Lamb Gyro, Fish & Buffalo Chicken. My favorite was the lamb gyro. All four were great! There are several taco and beverage options. I tried the frozen Cheerwine. Wow!!! So good! Also, tried the Cucumber Mint margarita. So refreshing, so fresh, so so good! Pick Up Order: I placed my order and food was ready as soon as I got in. Very fast service. I live less than 5 minutes away and was excited to try this new place nearby. What I got was okay. The flavors are all there in these tacos but besides the Korean Taco both of my chicken tacos were very dry. Even without the meat being dry on all the tacos the tortillas almost tasted stale. I'm a big fan of tacos and there is nothing worse than dry flour tortillas. What was also a little strange was the way the chicken is in the two chicken tacos. I'm used to bite sized chunks where in both of these it was just one giant chunk of white meat. The flavor was there but it didn't penetrate the meat. So you would get good flavor then bite into the dry chicken with no flavor. I really wanted to like these tacos more and maybe as time goes they can figure it out. I've never been to the original location so I can't say if they compare. For now this will have to be a wait and see before I try again. I'm a fan of tacos and like I said the flavors are there but with some fresher tortillas and less dry meat they could be 100x better. Will update this review in a few weeks when I give them another shot. For now not impressed and would rather just get some authentic tacos for half the price. read more
