    Cool space!

This is a gem outside Portsmouth. They specialize in tea, and have an ample tea selection. I opted for the sencha (green) and was delighted. The lunch selections are fresh, healthy and tasty. I can't speak for the rice or potato bowls but they looked really tasty in a choose your own adventure style. I savored my New Orleans Chicken Sandwich which had a nice spice (tobasco, pepper) along with chicken breast. They sell tea to go that my wife swears by. Their English muffins are pretty awesome - you can get those as an egg sandwich. The vibe is chill. Service was very friendly. Parking is a bit tight but we found a spot. This place is a gem - I will definitely keep it in mind when I am passing through!

Coffee. Community. Noise. WH is the epitome of the community coffee/lunch shop in the Portsmouth West End: friendly staff, healthy menu, and bustling with area workers and gatherings nearly any time and day of the week. Food can be pricey, but good quality and varied. Beware of coffee house telecommuting here. WiFi can be flakey and there is far more bustle and noise here than an otherwise calm exterior demeanor would suggest. High ceilings and tons of glass mean those on the other end of your calls may think you're Billy Madison going back to school, when its just area families stopping in with an entouraage of children untamed by delicious, organic munchies. In short: sound-deadening panels on the ceiling would do wonders, but in the meantime come here for the coffee, food, and community and just head elsewhere for calls or work.

Love this West End tea, Coffee house and cafe. Service is fast and super friendly. The food is terrific. So many choices for coffee and tea. Ambiance is community focused and they sell Vinyl records. Great internet service and free. A west end must.

This place is so wonderful I went twice in one week! I wanted somewhere to work that had strong wifi, good coffee & tea and good food options and this place has all of that! And fantastically kind baristas! They also have a large selections of tea you can buy to bring home. There's ample seating and outlets. Def recommend!

I didn't particularly enjoy the iced tea selection because it was so small. They only had 4-5 options and I am used to being able to select any tea on the menu and choosing to have it iced or hot so for that reason I decided to get a different beverage instead. I got an iced cranberry apple cider which turned out delicious! My boyfriend got the iced peach rooibos tea which wasn't bad but without much flavor. I'd come back here to try something new because the menu has a large selection of food and beverages. *Also: the vegan chocolate pumpkin chai donut is the best donut I've ever had. Not sure if all their other donuts are as soft and delicious, but I will be back to see for myself and I HIGHLY recommend trying them for yourself!!*

So this is where the White Heron's store/cafe is located! I've seen their loose tea leaves line at a few trendy coffee shops and always wanted to try them. And since it was only a 5 min drive from our inn, I ended up dragging my friends here just so I could sample their tea. It's a fun and bright open atmosphere. The store side is tidy and neat for shoppers and the seating side was very limited. London Fog- Not my favorite cup. The steamed milk was way too thick and they didn't add enough vanilla syrup to balance the bergamot from the earl grey. Overall Service: Friendly and nice folks at the counter. I ended up purchasing a tin of their Earl Grey Lavender loose tea leaves and it tasted better on it's own. It's definitely a masterpiece with the floral aroma mixed together with the classic flavor of earl grey. Can't wait to try out their other flavors! Just a note: The parking situation on the left side of the building is tight and people have the tendency to park willy-nilly. Not ideal if you're just trying to run in and out.

Friendly people. Good espresso. Dry hard scones. Floor was filthy. Don't think I'd return.

Lovely spot. Coffee, matcha and chai all tried and were excellent. Don't skip the muffins, they are worth the calories:)

I was staying at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Downtown Portsmouth and found Dwntwn Grocer & Cafe just a short two-block walk away. The space is a small, bright market-café with cheeses, salamis, drinks, and a focused food menu. Natural light fills the room through the large windows, and they also offer fresh coffee and lattes. Two young women working the lunch shift were genuinely friendly and made a delicious sandwich. The croissant was outstanding: ***light and flaky*** and the chicken salad itself was refreshing, with grapes and red onion. The only change I requested was leaving off the pickled onions. It was so good I ordered a second one and finished it. I already plan to go back for lunch tomorrow....!

They offer fresh brewed coffee (Blue Harbor Coffee Co), coffee/espresso drinks, chai/tea drinks, baked goods, and made to order breakfast sandwiches. They also stock small grocery items, frozen items, snacks, candy, cold drinks, beer, wine, tobacco items, and essentials. The place is order at the counter or online and there is seating in the front area and along the windows. I stopped by here recently late afternoon. I already had coffee, so all I needed was a breakfast sandwich, which is offered all day. I got a BYO Egg Breakfast Sandwich ($8.75 plus tax) on an Everything Bagel with goat cheese, pickled onions ($), pork sausage patty ($), round egg patty, tomato, & romaine lettuce ($ subbed for spinach), which was prepared to order and ready to go in 6 minutes. I headed back to my vehicle outside and enjoyed this tasty thick bagel egg sandwich with my black coffee, which was my quick dinner before heading over to a gathering. I would definitely return to Dwntwn for another breakfast sandwich and muffin next time.
