Bagel and Berry smoothie!
Steve C.

Great little coffee shop, bagel shop, juicery located downtown. Staff was very hospitable. I had a fresh blueberry bagel and small berry smoothie and both were excellent!

Grilled Western on the Works
Emma J.

We went here for breakfast our last morning in Portsmouth. We got the grilled western on the works bagel and a bacon egg and cheese on a garlic bagel with an iced chai and an iced latte. I was amazed at the size and price of both the iced latte and chai, they were huge and both under $5, which in my opinion and experience is unheard of. The bagel sandwiches were also very well priced and really tasty! The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 was because we did feel it took a decent amount of time for our food to be ready.

Cape Cod Chicken Salad Sandwich..

I was in Portsmouth for three days and I went to The Works four times. I got the smoked salmon sandwich three times, and I give it my highest recommendation. The veggie cream cheese takes it to a new level. The everything bagels are thoroughly coated on both sides, and have a good, bagely chew that I appreciate. The chicken salad was okay. The ratio felt a bit off with the greens and the chicken, but the sweet potato added something unique. My friend got the barbecue chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it. The service was very quick and there was a good amount of seating. Everyone working who I interacted with was very kind and patient, even when it was really busy. I will definitely go again if I come back to Portsmouth!

Egg, Sausage & Cheese Sandwich..
Sophy V.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast and enjoyed our meal + drinks. Quick service, only waited about 5 minutes for our sandwiches on a Sunday morning. Tried the jalapeño cheddar bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese. Hot toasty bagel was yummy but slightly oily given the type of bagel. Sesame bagel was also good, nice with a lot of sesame seeds. Overall, enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches (but definitely not the best bagels out there). Cute decor and enough seating.

Sausage egg and cheese on sourdough
Raelynn V.

The sausage egg and cheese on sourdough is a must-have! The staff were friendly and service was quick. Easy to take on the go for a quick breakfast or lunch stop, or to dine in if you have the time. It smells incredible inside and there are lots of seating options.

Bagels are excellent. Fresh and delicious. Thankful for the veggie toffuti cream cheese option! The spinach green smoothie was delicious. Cappuccino was only ehhh. Nothing to rave about. Was busy and they were short handed but overall great service.

Sunrise wrap
Michael M.

My Sunrise wrap was very full and had a great flavor. I solidly enjoyed mine. My daughter enjoyed her cinnamon roll. My wife's breakfast sandwich, however, was made incorrectly and waaaaaay under-filled. She gave it one star. They were out if most types of bagels at 10:30am, so she got her fourth choice. My other two kids' breakfast sandwiches were also made incorrectly, but they ate them. Likewise, they were severely under-filled. My wife and kids said they would give the place one or two stars. My wrap and coffee was a four star meal. Split the difference with three stars. Caveat emptor.

Loved this casual and healthy restaurant! Great for a quick & healthy breakfast or lunch! Really enjoyed the green machine smoothie & the farmers veggie and cheese sandwich! The bread alone was super soft and tasty! Hubby loved his super cheesy Mac & cheese & bagel with (cage free) eggs & sausage. He commented on how the bagel alone was super soft and fresh! I also had a cup of the vegan 3 bean chili. It was good. Everyone here was super friendly! Loved that you just order & sit down because you can save a bit on tipping that way!!!! Can't wait to go back and try more of this delicious food!

Sausage egg and cheese on wheat bread
Lauren N.

Came here while visiting my friend in Portsmouth! Cute little restaurant. I had black iced coffee and it still tasted sweet and not bitter, very impressed! I just had a sausage egg and cheese on wheat bread and it was great! My friend had a buffalo Mac and cheese that looked wonderful!

I'm a mom to 4-year-old twins, and medicine has been one of the hardest parts of parenting. I've never felt good about giving them over-the-counter cold meds--too many weird ingredients I can't pronounce, and they never seem to help much anyway. But finding natural remedies that actually work? That's been a whole other struggle. Every fall, I make my annual trip to Societe to stock up on my go-to teas: Throat Ease, Get Well, Breathe, Fever Break, Be Well Immuni Tea, and Digest Ease. The first five are always in my pantry. When my kids start sniffling or coughing, I don't even think twice--I make them a warm cup of tea. It's so much easier than fighting with them to take some nasty-tasting syrup that ends up all over their shirt or spit out halfway through. These teas work fast, they taste good, and I feel better knowing I'm helping their little bodies heal naturally. Now let me talk about Digest Ease, because this one... wow. If you've been through potty training, you know the constipation phase is brutal. My daughter was in so much pain, scared to go, crying, and I felt helpless. Doctors kept recommending milk of magnesia and other stuff that just didn't feel right. I tried everything--fiber, prune juice, homeopathic drops--and nothing gave her consistent relief. Digest Ease was the only thing that helped. It's gentle, it works fast, and it gave my daughter real relief without the drama. I've told every mom friend I know about it, and they've all had the same experience. If you're a parent who's tired of chemical-filled meds and just wants something safe, natural, and effective--these teas are it. They're not just products. They're part of how I care for my kids. I'll never go another season without them.
