Decided to come here for a Monday Funday with my girl friends. It has been on my personal list to check out for a while. When we arrived, I was struck by how beautiful the house and the landscaping is. It is stately and beautiful. When I walked in, I was greeted by a peaceful ambiance. Everything is white, all the decorations, the walls, the linens, everything. Peaceful and clean though. We opted to sit outside, which was a great choice, because it was a lush covered patio in the back. The grapevines overhead looked unreal. It was cool and beautiful in the back. The server was great. She was fast, friendly and provided some insight on the lunch specials. I opted for the turkey cranberry croissant with a side of the habanero jelly that was part of the lunch special and I added a salad. The plate was presented beautifully, with a fresh apricot skewered to the top, and fresh veggies and berries in the salad. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. My only drawbacks were the limited items on the menu, and the price of the meal. If you are looking for great service and fresh food, this is a good pick. read more

I have eaten here once and I drove from seattle super excited to come back! Couldn't get in! Literally no one was in this place but I didn't have reservations! I was confused bc she told me to come back in an hour but no one was sitting down, so confusing! I have been to a million spots and never ever experienced this! Most would say it was color of my skin - nope I will NOT think like that, but Its Yakima!!!! I was also with my white sister so idk! Either way I'm writing this bc I called several times days before to make reservations - no one answered all the times! I told them, she didn't even apologize and that is where I was not OK with. Its one thing to not have room, but where are the ppl?? We ended up going downtown where there was lines OUT the door and a packed house for covid times, with delicious pancakes! I super love this place. The setting is amazing. The cozy feel from the moment you walk in Gloria is the best!! We just love her to pieces. Give her a big raise or promote her to management!! We just tried the White House Café for the first time. Have seen it online previously and it always look like a cute place to go took the family there for a Sunday after noon brunch lunch. First of all it took over an hour to get our food we had three small children so that was not fun. One person ordered coffee they forgot to bring the coffee which you would think would be a simple thing. Food finally came out. Prices are outrageous for a simple turkey sandwich. No sides was $19 and then after closer look at the bill which we should have done before we left but with three kids that had been there way too long we left Reviewing the bill we noticed we were overcharged by two extra sandwiches. They offered the special which was a breakfast scrambled egg situation that was not on the menu but that cost $28. Will not go back. the prices are outrageous. The service was unacceptable. The food was subpar. Nothing you couldn't make at home on your own for the price. The ambience was OK not recommend this place. We will not be going back. read more

I really, really wanted to love it!! The star is for the ambiance only. We visited White House at 11 on a Sunday. The exterior is gorgeous, with huge beautiful blooming bushes in the front. The interior is country chic. There's a cute little store in the entry. It was fun to look around. The dining room(s) looked inviting and it was pretty packed. Luckily we were seated right away and were offered a patio table. The patio is under a grape filled arbor offering lots of shade. That was the good part.... When we were seated we were given a breakfast menu. I asked if lunch was available and our server didn't know (and actually I did, just by eyeing the lunch menu on yelp, the lunch hours were clearly noted). We ordered the Turkey Cranberry sandwich and the Chicken Salad. We were brought out a carafe of ice water with mint & I ordered iced tea. Then we waited.... and waited..... and waited. No one came back. Not to check on us. Not to refill my iced tea. Not to mention that they were running slow. I flagged down someone clearing a nearby table to get an iced tea refill, was brought mildly warm tea (no ice) and we were left alone. 45 minutes after ordering, I had to flag down someone to ask about our food. They said it was coming soon. 55 minutes after ordering, I again flagged down someone and asked that they box it to go. A lady (the hostess?) brought out two packaged cookies and said she wouldn't charge us for our drinks (uh, okay....one iced tea?). A staff member cleaning a nearby table said "sorry for the wait...we have new cooks and our dishwasher didn't come in". After leaving and eating our food on the go, more disappointment. The Turkey was deli lunch meat, not turkey breast slices. The white bread was the $0.99 a loaf variety. The menu said "old fashioned goodness". It wasn't. We also didn't notice either whipped cream cheese or almond slivers on the sandwich. The portion of chicken salad was hearty, but not well seasoned. It didn't have pineapple as the menu indicated. Overall, a Hot Mess!! No pictures of the food cause of the whole debacle and by the time we left, I was hangry. My review is 8 hours later (so this is much calmer & nicer than I felt at the time). Hubs felt that we got robbed. Their website says "Yakima's best kept secret for lunch".....sigh. read more

My first time to dine here was about a year ago, I ordered a full breakfast and a cinnamon roll. Wow, is all I can say!!! The food was amazing and plenty of it. The cinnamon roll was the size of a small cake and literally one of the best I have ever eaten. The young lady waiting on us was a delight and the dining area was fixed up like the old time farmstead. Very fun for my Girlfriend and I. We go back quite often as it is one of our favorites.
