The street and mountain bike world intimidated me until I realized I had a local shop that knows what they're doing. My mountain biking friend has also gone here and found it a great place. I've been to Mike's Bikes of Petaluma only a few times picking up some equipment for a first time mountain biker (sure I've done it once or twice when I was a kid, but now it was getting serious). It's a pretty big inside, and full of bikes and all the equipment and swag one might need. The service is super great and friendly. . Dare I saw patient too with a newbie like myself. I had gone inside wondering what kind of air pump fit my bike (not knowing there were special ones). You can also schedule a test ride or schedule your bikes to be worked on. It's nice to know that every time I go inside there's remarkable service, and I'll find what I'm looking for. Biking community. . Watch out. . a new mountain biker has been born.

After I pointed out their mistake, they attempted to quickly fix their mistake.. clearly a rush job, very low quality, incomplete work. Since it was my first time, a store staff member described where to go and personally walked me over to the repair shop - - a nice touch! At the repair shop, Julian(?) looked over my bike tire, told me what he would do, and what the maximum cost would be. He was straightforward and efficient. Since I started work in two hours, I asked him if there was any way it could be done within an hour, so I'd be able to get a ride in. He said that there was a good chance of that and he would do his best. 15 minutes later, he texted me to let me know that the bike my bike was ready! Not only was it ready fast, but the cost was far below what I was quoted, so that was really great! When I got home to ride it, I noticed that he had also tightened my brakes and had added an air cap to the tire. Really thoughtful touches I will definitely come back to this bike shop again!!

We parked by the service shop because they don't have a big sign up yet and the owner, Akio, pointed us to the right place while he assessed the pedal that I couldn't tighten down when I changed pedals out for my friend the night before. My friend and I picked up a few things in the shop - and Akio gave me an estimate and was able to work on the bike right away. While we waited, my friend did a test ride of a new bicycle and the two young men in the shop were exceedingly polite, helpful and charming. I look forward to stopping by there in the future and may make plans to have bicycle tune ups or repairs done there as a wait in downtown Petaluma is much more appealing than other options!

Amazing bikes and - more importantly - amazing people! Came to this location after my best friend…read moretold me Marin HQ is having a garage sale for all demo and show bikes. We planned on making a day out of it and got there around 10A (about an hour after the event started). They had a wide variety of road bikes, full suspension & hard tail mountain bikes, step through/commuters, and e-bikes (mountain and road). Additionally, there were parts bin items (pedals, fully built front/rear wheels, new/used tires) and some soft apparel. I don't think I saw anything less than 50% off MSRP. Being 5' 2" with a short 24.5" inseam, I wasn't expecting to find a bike that fit me, but was pleasantly surprised to try the Headlands One in 49cm. The stand over height is very comfortable and all the components were quality. It was too good of a fit to not sign the waiver and at least try it. I haven't ridden a drop bar bike my size before, but the mechanic on site (John) that prepped the bike was super chill... being an automation engineer myself and wrenching for a living, we geeked out over tools and he mentioned a couple of sites to check out. Coming from the mountain bike world, the drop bars were foreign. One lap around the parking lot and I could already tell that I needed to adjust the seat height further down and adjust the height of the handlebars up. John cut the seat post and adjusted the stem spacers. I took the Headlands One for a spin again. I fell in love: everything was so locked in and felt natural whether I was on pavement or riding along the little dirt/mud trail that bordered the parking lot. I thanked John, asked him for his name (as we'd been talking the entire time without introduction), & let him know he just sold me the bike with all the fitment work that went into it. I wouldn't let go of the bike until I paid for it. My party was still shopping so I spent some time chatting with Barbara (accountant who rang up all purchases today) about what it's like working for Marin... such a cool lady who rides a Marin Sausalito E-Bike. One of the gents manning the grill asked if I wanted a hotdog. It's hard to turn down a hot dog... we started chatting about bikes in general and the industry as a whole. He was insightful and realistic about where Marin fit in the biking world & I let him know that the extended family in Italy was talking about how I should get my hands on a Marin if I could find one. Three additional bike purchases later (my BFF settled on the same bike I did and my spouse purchased two bikes: the above mentioned step-through + an e-bike) and two hotdogs later, it was time to head out. I asked Barbara who was the guy that was grilling since I wanted to thank him for the hotdog. "That's Matt, our CEO" she said with a smile. With this experience & some of the most down to earth folks in industry, I think Marin Bikes just got three customers for life. I can't recommend enough supporting this brand and if you're lucky, scooping up a steal of a deal at one of their garage sales!

I'm used to dropping my bikes at our local Specialized dealer and leaving them sit in line for a few days until there number is up and a mechanic gets after them. If all went right, I usually was separated from my ride for a week or so. I went to the online calander and found the appointment time that worked for me. Mat showed up right on time (7:00AM) I tasked him with tuning up 2 mountain bikes and a road bike. It had been awhile since my rides had received any professional love, and we're very much in need. Before I left for work he had inspected all three bikes and had quoted his recommendations (new Continental road tire, bar tape, and tire goo). He had all the parts in his van, so no delays. I went to work and gave Mat the instructions on how to lock the bikes up in the garage when he was finished. Around 11:30 he called me and went over all the notes on work order. When I got home that evening I checked out the job and was totally satisfied with the quality of the work and the process in general. No loading, unloading and hauling around bikes, and trying to pick them up before the store closes. I totally recommend Beeline and will continue to use their services in the future. It's great having that personal relationship with my bike mechanic, instead of just checking it in and hoping for the best.

Plus the service was excellent - my serviceperson, Thaison, actually brought my bike back the next day because he had to tweak one of the parts. Then he spent about 20 minutes showing me all its features! Amazing for the price I had paid, just $110. Great deal, highly recommended.
