Had a blow out on one of my Lectric e-bikes, was pleased to find out The Bike Peddler was open 7 days a week until 6 some days. Gave them a call and came in a few days later. I ordered my tire and tube and brought it in with me. They were welcoming and told me to bring the bike on in. I was helped by Luca who took down my info and told me he could have it ready in 20min! However I continued to run errands so told them it wasn't a huge rush. Luca called me back in just under an hour to let me know my bike was ready. Popped in to check on a part for a friend who's pup chewed the roommates rack a bit. The young man that helped me was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about his products. Although they didn't carry it in store he gave me a quote for my friend to order it or point her in the direction of a distributor. If I have questions I know I can trust the guys here. They are passionate about everything bicycles but not pushy to make a sale which is appreciated. Customer service was excellent. The only downfall is a small parking lot and the side street where their entrance is offers little to no space to park. read more

We have bought numerous bikes from The bike peddler and have been taking our bikes there for maintenance for decades. I just got my bike back after having the brake pads replaced, one of the rotors replaced, and the brakes adjusted. It's working perfectly again. I'm not surprised, because the mechanic Ed worked on it. He's been there for as long as I can remember. He's worked on my bike many many times. USED CAR SALESMAN! Definitely has gone down hill in the past few years. Went to get a full tune up on my Kona and the guy said it was to far gone and I had to get a brand new bike, so I took it to the Hun Cyclrey in Cotati and the took care of it no questions asked, now my bikes perfect. Then for some reason I went back to Bike Peddler to fix a simple flat and the quoted me $24 and charged me $37. Said it was for an upgraded tube but didn't ask if that was ok or even mention it till I payed. Used to like going there and bought my first bike there over 20 years ago. The bike peddler I believe used to be a nice local business. Unfortunately, they sold out and their team inside is very rude and straight to the point I was up sailed quite a bit on a service said my bike was going to be in showroom condition. I got it back and you could just tell they just wiped it down with a wet rag. I would not bring my bike back unfortunately I have bought all my bikes there since I was 12 years old on a $900 service. They didn't even grease the chain so sad to see a local company sell out to a big corporation and they care less about , the local customers I would definitely find a local business read more

The man in charge was extremely rude. I came in 10am to pickup a bike I already paid 350 for to have tuned up and tires replaced. I have a legitimate medical breathing condition that makes wearing a mask unsafe for my personal health, I explained this to them and showed there is an exception in mandates for anyone w a breathing condition and he wouldn't even let me finish just told me to leave and stop breathing. I said it's cold outside and I would rather wait here till I got my bike. Last time I'll be shopping here. There are much politer ways to share your companies policy and they should be open to hearing what the actual mandates say like many businesses have when I explain. read more

Purchased a Santa Cruz MB here in early July, was told it comes with two tune ups. Didn't do the 1mnth one: all i had done was the seat readjusted since there was a squeaky noise when i road the bike. Brought it back Early this week for 6mth tune up and i was called that it was ready. Came and picked it up and my tires were half full just as i brought the bike in.. it had been sitting under a bike cover for over 2mths so it was supper dusty. only thing i cleaned was the frame. Asked the guy if that wasn't something they did for the tune up and his comment/response back was "oh umm do you have a pump at home".. complete ignorance to customer service not to mention it was the reason i brought it in for.. "$100 dollar complimentary tuneup" that just threw me over the hill mad. i tried to leave and an older man with glasses tried to pull the bike back; he was obviously trying to do the right thing by making sure i was happy but it was just too late. I let him know how disappointed i was at the job done to my bike. i took a quick look at the cassette and realize right away it was not oiled. the only thing oiled on the bike was the chain.. Now i had to pay their competitors to do the work they were suppose to do!. Came home and realized the forks were not even pumped/lubed. I have bough parts there too but now they haveLOST me as a customer.Disgusted by their poor work. So much was not done and i'm an easy rider so this to them shouldn't of take more than 35 minutes to do.! read more

I brought my bike (1.5 years old) in for a tune up, as the store I bought it from in Davis (when I lived there) said it should come in for a tune up every year. The Bike Peddler mechanic checked it over and said there were no problems. They didn't charge me anything. Clearly, I got received some false information from the store I bought it from. Extremely disappointed in these guys. I purchased a chain breaker and it broke as I was trying to use it. They refused to do anything for me, refused to help, refused to acknowledge my frustration that a tool I had JUST purchased broke on me. I even asked if it was something I did wrong - they said no. They told me to contact the manufacturer myself, they had an 'it broke that's your problem' attitude. It was very disappointing because I shopped here and I won't be returning again, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Way to seriously drop the ball on customer service. read more

Walked in there today to pick up a cruiser, been wanting to get something to cruise around town here in Healdsburg. As I walked in, nobody greeted me, so I walked around a bit hoping someone engaged me. Keep in mind this was on lunch break on a Monday morning. So I waited and waited, nothing. Walked around some more outside and again, nothing. Just ended up leaving, I'll take my business elsewhere. To the dude at the counter and the three dudes in the service shop that looked right at me - thanks for nothing. Update 6/21/19: Although it was more expensive than at this shop, I ended up buying the Electra Cruiser 7D from Windsor Bike and Sport because they were friendly. I even walked in and told them what I was looking for, they said they had one in the back that was not yet built, they said they'd build it for me first to make sure it was what I wanted and then have me come back to take a look. Hey asked me not to commit to payment yet although I told them I wasn't interested in doing it. They said they weren't planning on building the bike for a day or two but would make it the next thing they did. This shop is friendly and courteous and I'm glad I did not spend my money at The Bike Peddler. read more

I bought a comfort bike here June 2015. There was an impressive number of makes and models to choose. The young salesman listened to my criteria for fit, comfort and price range. I got to test ride several models around the neighborhood. That helped seal the deal on the reasonably priced bicycle ($549) I chose. Today I came in for the free 30 day mechanical tune-up. Was greeted with a smile. Service was fast and efficient. If you're a super bargain shopper and not a competitive bike aficionado, you can get a less expensive bike at Costco or Wal-Mart. But even a week-end peddler will appreciate getting a better quality bike made by a respectable brand name. And bike peddler here will probably carry that make and model you seek. OMG, What a ripoff place this is. I went in to get training wheels for my autistic daughters bike & they wanted to charge me $25.99 just for the wheels and then another $15 to install them, Then tax ??? Are you freaking kidding me ~ Roughly $43 !!! The Bike itself cost me $88.00 at Walmart. Am i wrong or are you not getting paid an hourly wage to be at the store & work. Why on earth would you charge a service fee to install anything someone bought there ? Especially something so small & most likely will be taken off in a month or 2 ? I'm not saying the people or employees were bad (they were actually very approachable) but my lord their prices are outrageous , No wonder why i was the only customer in there. I think that I've purchased three bikes here. A hybrid a long time ago, a BMX a couple years back, and a Santa Cruz Nomad for my downhill shredding son most recently. All with real nice customer service. The only thing denting the rating is bringing the later bike back twice after tune up/overhaul. Ride #1 after the service- screw missing on disk brakes and they're dragging. Brought it back and they fixed it no problem. Ride #2 after the service. Derailleur clamp loose, slipping on the frame, loss of ability to shift. Brought it back and they jumped on fixing it right away. Needless to say, they were courteous and prompt to fix the problem without me waiting both times. I almost feel bad with just four stars. Maybe this was just a fluke, because they seem better than that. Their store carries quality brands and I'm impressed with the customer service. read more

A bottle or gloves or whatever and check out all the new bikes knowing I could never afford one. Just had my bike serviced by a guy named Jessie. Walked in, the repair area was full of laughing and happy chatter. Jessie came up and said he could take care of it. I briefly explained a tire issue, after they just pumped it 2 days earlier. He said he'd look at it and took the bike away. I attempted to ask a question as he walked off and he cut me off and with some sarcasm (felt a bit bully-ish) repeated what he'd already and said, and then said very pointedly that that he'd come find me when he was done, and walked away with my bike. Felt pretty disrespectful, rude. The repair room, with 2 other mechanics in it, became silent. Then some strange innuendoed commentary and chuckles. One guy asked me how I was doing. The chatter picked up again. I of course stuck around, watched the process from the window, and interacted with Jessie anyway, telling him the history of the issue and attempting to identify possible problems and repair options. You know, what someone with a bike repair issue would do. After the tire was re-pumped up, Jessie was again with the big, "in your face" energy, and again sarcastic when asked if the bike might benefit from a tune up. It was a pretty unpleasant experience overall. Too bad, 2 days before, when the bike first was brought in for tire service, the kid at the service desk was great! The star is for him. I was looking forward to getting both my bikes serviced there and renewing my relationship with the neighborhood bike shop. Jessie, however, sucked. And his coworkers didn't do anything to correct him or help me to feel like I was anything but an unwelcome interruption to the jolly and loud yet apparently exclusive banter that was going on when I first walked in. I was pretty disappointed that I no longer felt comfortable going to the shop up the street from my house. read more
