My home's AC completely stopped working last night. I called Chason at 8am, and one of their technicians, Steve, arrived just after 11am. He was friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He took the time to explain everything he was doing, and I learned a lot about the cooling system that I didn't know before. To sum it up, it was top-notch service at a fair price. You really can't beat the quality of small, family-owned businesses. It's no surprise they've been in business for 75 years. The next time I need service, I won't hesitate to call Chason. Technician from local competitor came out and looked out HVAC system, didn't test any components and stated "our compressor was locked & leaking refrigerant and quoted my husband $6k to replace it or we can purchase a brand new HVAC system for $25k!!!" (NOT TRUE!!!). The tech even left our outside power switch unplugged so we couldn't test the system!! SMH!!! We won't contact them for any service ever again nor recommend them to any neighbors, friends and family!!! Joe K, Service Technician at HVAC Direct Heating & Cooling contacted my husband within 20 minutes of him contacting the office the next business day and scheduled a visit that evening. He came out to the house, checked the compressor and quickly diagnosed the capacitor as the problem & replaced it. And Joe K. even showed my husband how he diagnosed the capacitor as the issue NOT the compressor leaking refrigerant as stated by local competitor!! No refrigerant leaking at all!! Compressor in good condition!! In addition, Joe K., checked the wiring, fan, all associated parts and cleaned our a/c unit. No issues at all!! Just some cleaning needed!!! It was covered under warranty so the company was in no rush to come out and do the install, told us a week till install could be done. They were also charging over $700 for just labor. My husband he wanted to see if he could find company to do it sooner which he couldn't. So he went to call them back later that day to approve install and his call would not go through, called from my phone and it went through, they had blocked his number. He told office manager his phone was blocked and he was calling from his wifes phone, she said oh what is her number so I can add to your account in case we can't get in touch with you. Was told by office manager that she would get us estimate to approve and pay deposit by 4:00. At 3:50 still nothing so my husband called them back to find out they had blocked both our phones now.
