Loooove this place. Very cozy and beautiful spacious exposed brick space. The only downside is they don't take reservations so we had to wait for like 20 mins before being seated. They have gluten free pizza options and very nice cocktails. Seems like a great place to catch up with a friend. It's not loud so easy to talk. Red Sauce Pizza and their equally famous House Puff and Ceasar Salad. Oh their generously sized Cannoli! So we were all bombarded by all the goodness on our table! The burnt edges on the Red sauce pizza. The amazing looking yolk in the middle of the White Pie. White Pie is the one for me. The taste was uniquely it's own. It feels healthy because of the thin but desirable crust. That burnt wood taste only afforded by real wood burning oven. That's my holy grail. It's actually there. It's present and it's on your tongue. My senses tingle with gratitude having found this slice of heaven. It doesn't stop here. The Cacio y Pepe is where lies my allegiance to this place. One of the best! Like someone went to Italy and brought some home. For me. Me. It's such a simple Italian dish.. and includes only black pepper, Pecorino Romano cheese, and pasta. The simplicity kills me. The taste? Amazing. Prize?? Who cares! But ok. This isn't a cheap pizza joint. An order will set you back about $15. Gasp? Really good pizza for Denver standards. For once, excluding one other pizzeria, the reviews were right. I am tired of going to pizzerias that locals claim is the greatest thing since sliced bread...and they really aren't. White Pie is the real deal and happy to have finally tasted it. We ordered both a New Haven and a Sicilian style, and were happily surprised of how good the New Haven style was. We normally don't order white pizzas but this one was oh boy cooked to perfection; great looking undercarriage, the onion was deliciously sautéed, and the cheese and the sauce were delicious. It had a smokey but not overwhelming flavor, delish! The Sicilian was tasty but it is a style that I would technically say isn't their specialty and you can find in other average pizzerias. Happy to have tried it but that's it, not going out of my way to try it again. We would definitely come back and try the rest of the NH style. Highly recommended not only because of the pizza but also the server was very good and attentive, and the place looks casual but yet perfect for a date night. 4 stars (or an easy 4.2 to be honest) only because I have tried some of the best pizzas in the world and well...standards are high. read more

Had the hibiscus mocktail which was very bubbly and delicious. The pizza is very good and comes out quick. It was a bit thin for my liking but the sauce is really good! I've sat in groups of 2 or three both at the bar and at a table, and each time waited around 15 minutes for even water. But I'll still go back for the excellent food. I got the puff (just as I expected it would be, good) and the oven-roasted cauliflower, which sounded so good but was very disappointing. It was a small portion -- about a cup -- in a big container, which made it look even sadder. It was not well-roasted, so it was still a bit crunchy and very raw-tasting, with little flavor except from the very spicy oil in the container. There were about 3-5 pumpkin seeds in the container. The decor and vibe were on point, the smell of the wood fired pizza oven, the service, the epic flavor combinations on the pies. Argumentative and rude staff last night was the final straw after tolerating declining food quality all year. I've been coming to White Pie for several years and last night's visit was my last. While the quality of the GF pizza crust has been erratic, it was the customer service which was appalling. We were a party of 2 and seated by a pleasant server in the corner. After we settled in, another staff member came over and said, "you have to move - this table was reserved for a party of 6 and you can't sit here bc I need the space." We asked if the party could be seated in the opposite corner and he agreed. He came back 4 minuets later, put his hands on the table and leaned over us with an argumentative and irritated tone telling is, "you need to move - there are 7 people in the reservation." NOTE: They only take reservations for parties of 8 or more. We then moved to two spots on the left side of the bar - bc the right side had a dirty disgusting mop and bucket leaning against it - and were told "you can't sit here bc you'll be in the way." We then left and will never return. The staff was rude, annoyed, gruff and unaccommodating. Also, we will no longer be dining at the declining tacoria down the street where the service is horrible but at least pleasant. After years of going to both and tolerating the downhill quality of the food, the line is drawn at rude and unwelcoming service. read more

I went to the location in Denver. I'm CT and grew up on New Haven "Apizza". I was really excited to try this and it wasn't terrible but needs improvement. It was undercooked, not enough char, too much flop, and the crust was too chewy. Also, the price point is way too high for the sizes of the pie. I might try it again in a few months to see if they dial it in better but that price would definitely keep me from being a regular, even if they fine tune their pies closer to that delicious New Haven Apizza. read more

The hubs and I came here for a pre symphony date night. We arrived pretty early so had an immediate seating. The space is well done and I loved the decor. We started with cocktails - Basil limeade and Asbury Park Sour. Mine was the limeade and it was very heavy on lime which is my favorite way to drink any lime beverage. The Asbury Park the hubs liked but he's a fan of one giant ice cube versus crushed ice which dilutes a bit faster. Next we got the Lil Sal to share which was a fabulous salad. The dressing was perfect and evenly dispensed throughout. The crunchy pepitas and salty grated cheese rounded it out perfectly. I ordered the burrata bing pizza and the hubs went with a classic pepperoni. I pretty much inhaled my entire pizza. The crust was thin with the perfect amount of chew. The tomato sauce was the right amount of acid and sweet. Each slice had a quenelle of cool, fresh burrata with a single piece of basil. Perfection. The hubs really liked his pepperoni and I actually had a slice of that too. The cheese was gooey and delicious. When I heard that there's a restaurant in Denver that serves a manila clam pizza on a thin crust, I practically made a beeline to get to this place. We got here before 5pm on a Saturday. This meant that we had our pick of both indoor and outdoor seating, once we were able to get someone to acknowledge us. We got several looks from employees before they went back to what they were doing, but nobody even said, "The host will be right with you." His pizza ended up being a reliable if indistinguishable choice..."exactly like any other pepperoni I've had, though with a too thin crust." She was super knowledgeable, friendly and gave us the right amount of attention. The wine was good. The Caeser Salad was good but would have liked more dressing/ or maybe more flavor in the actual dressing. The pizzas are really good. But for a $16+ pizza that takes 20-25 minutes, I'm just not sure it's worth it me. I think I could get just as good of a pizza for much less and much faster at Pizzaria Locale. The environment is definitely different but when I am looking for some good pizza, White Pie just isn't for me. I've been back here a few times now, and I have a better sense of it. I really enjoy the pizza - the chewy and impossibly thin crust is delicious. I got the fromage a trois, and *cue mouth watering* yum! The caramelized onions on it were the best treat with all the rich cheese. We also split the charred Brussels (with soppressata on the side) and some olives. The Brussels were so good with the sundried tomato vin on it and charred nicely. The olives were an incredibly generous portion and served warm. The pizza, side, and olives was a good amount for 2 people, however, I have certainly been there and had a pizza for myself and gone home with leftovers! The reasons for 4 not 5 stars: slower service, water not always full, and loud atmosphere. The service is a bit slow - you may have to actively waive down your server. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not given the other reviews mention this as well. The server was plenty helpful whenever we flagged him down though. I like that they give you a wine bottle of water and glasses, but it would be nice if the empty water was refilled so I could continue to hydrate. I love the setting, but with the wide and tall ceilings, it echoes and gets loud - not necessarily bad but something to be aware of. I have no doubt I'll be back to enjoy more of this delicious pizza. read more

My recent experience at White Pie is having me second guessing if I want to come back. I've been here several times since my last post, but this visit was full of common sense errors. We arrived at 5:20 to a nearly empty restaurant, minus three people sitting against the far wall. I arrived with my husband, and we were waiting on our friend (a couple with a one-year old baby). We were told by the hostess (young land with long hair) that they don't sit incomplete parties. I totally respect this rule if there is a line of eager customers waiting to eat, but common sense needs to factor in this rule. When you have 98 percent of your tables empty, no line and my remaining party five minutes away, why wouldn't you just seat us? After waiting five minutes, we were seated. The waitress did a good job and was attentive, but it felt leek we were being rushed to turn tables; even after ordering a second round of drinks, multiple appetizers and four entrees. White Pie has been on my to-do list for a minute...and now it's on my will-do-again list for sure! What an incredibly awesome dining experience! The food, the staff, the restaurant - every single thing was fantastic. We opted to sit at the bar top which isn't at a bar but overlooks their wood burning pizza oven and pizza making station. It's lovely and a great spot to people AND pizza watch. Our meal started with the meatballs and Arancini and honestly, I'm surprised I got pictures with how quickly we inhaled...er...ate them. Both were delicious! I'm a huge Arancini fan and these were so creamy, cheesy and perfectly crispy. The meatballs were so flavorful and tender, they almost fell apart in the yummy marinara. The pizza of the month (luckily for us it was a Leap Year so we got to take advantage) was the pepperoni, sausage and bacon - yum!! The chunks of bacon were no joke and the sausage and pepperoni made this a meat lover's dream. The wood fired crust rounded out this pizza perfection. Annnd despite eating all that, I couldn't resist getting Cannoli for dessert after watching plate after plate of them come out of the kitchen and after the first bite, I knew why. Oh. Man. Dessert heaven!! The shell, the filling, the pistachio - I might have only gotten a few bites in before surrendering but you can bet I finished that guy off this morning! (I let my hubs, begrudgingly, have the other). Our server was fantastic and attentive - our glasses never went empty and our plates always stayed full. And the music, worth noting, was an awesome mix of 90's and early 2000's - we couldn't resist dancing a little in our seats.
