We stayed in Cabin #19 at White Rock Resort and had a great experience. The cabin was very dog friendly. The private beach access was one of our favorite parts! It felt quiet and almost completely to ourselves during our stay. The large deck with a partial ocean view was amazing. It was very relaxing, and it was fully enclosed. The hot tub was a great bonus after a long day exploring the coast. Self check-in was easy, parking right in front of the cabin made unloading simple, and communication from the resort was great. It was also a quick drive to Brookings, OR for restaurants, but there are delivery options as well. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable overall. The only part uncleaned was under the couch, which we only noticed because our dogs kept trying to get food left underneath it. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back on our next visit! We'll definitely recommend this resort to others! read more

We have been planning a road trip to the top of CA for a few months. We found this place on a yelp review and just went for it. I am SO glad we did!! We had a 12 hour drive ahead of us and when we arrived it was just perfect. We have a family of 5, with 3 teenagers. We had the most amazing time here. The Jedediah Redwood State Park is so close, we stayed 4 nights in cabin #19. The loft had a queen, twin & a chair that folded into a sleeping pad. The couch was very comfy, the cabin is remodeled and looks so cute. Only two things that need improvement: the sand toys (my boy's complaints, not mine) haha and the bedroom door is a pocket door that does NOT lock lol. So just beware :) This location had a side ocean view that was really beautiful but you can't see the sunset. But Just a walk to the really nice stairs to the beach, super close and watch from there. This cabin is lined with trees in the back, and had two decks. The jacuzzi was PERFECT and this location is private compared to others. Everyone was so nice and the beach was so quiet and private. It's close to drive into Oregon to grab things you may need. We cooked a few nights but unfortunately you can't BBQ, but there were plenty of options close by. We liked Crescent City & Brookings. The views are spectacular all the way up. We will be back and would like to stay even longer next time and get more family to come. It's worth the drive to truly see what beauty CA has to offer. read more

This is one of my favorite places in California. Beautiful Location, nice cozy cabins. Private beach with awesome little tide pools. This place is not too far from Crescent Coty which has its own cool touristy stuff. Also Smith River itself is a short drive, and that river is awesome, beautiful clear water. It's been about a year since we been here, but Sherry in the office was super nice both times we came. Looking forward to visiting here again! read more

Positives: The location is gorgeous!!!!! I mean breathtaking. Our cabin was right by the stairs and it had quick and easy beach access. The hot tub and view was so fabulous. Not as fabulous: When I called to ask about the cancelation policy (just in case of COVID) I heard a lot about personal political beliefs that didn't feel professional. The cabin windows/patio door didn't have screens so it was difficult to have air coming through without tons of flies The cabin seemed a bit dated, mattress uncomfortable, and could use a little bit of deep cleaning. We couldn't hear the water from the bedroom. You could hear the road noise instead. It wasn't really bad but not the ocean. read more

Last month we stayed in Cabin 15 for 5 nights. We loved the Ocean views and the Cabin. We had such a fun time we are back and this trip we are in Cabin 6. This cabin is more updated and bigger but we liked the deck and hot tub and the privacy more in cabin 15. We experienced great customer service both trips. read more

What a spectacular place on the coast! We were concerned about accommodations that during COVID and came across this place which had individual cabins that were fully furnished and stocked so we could prepare meals etc. without having to worry about restaurants being open. Each cabin is individually owners by private owners and the resort rents out the units. The cabin was super clean and perfect for our 1st anniversary getaway. I have to say that Sherry, the woman who handle payment and arrangements, was a super nice person. We actually had a really nice conversation on the phone as we were settling final payment be on the deposit and all in all the experience was really, really positive. Definitely hit this place up if you're looking for a place to vacation that is private, well run and maintained, and has so much more to offer than your average hotel room. I'd also really recommend this place for families and groups of friends who want to share costs. Once again I'd like to give a shout out to you Sherry you're freaking awesome! Oh and it's close to all really cool beach attractions and redwood actions and Brookings Oregon and all kinds of other really great stuff! We will definitely be back. read more

We were looking for a cabin at the beach and out of the smoke in the late summer of 2020. White Rock was what just what we wanted. Great communication with Sherry in the office. Private deck with hot tub included ocean views. Hotel-like amenities (soap, shampoo, hair dryer, coffee maker & coffee) and complete kitchenette made White Rock a good choice for kicking back. Close enough to Brookings for food runs. A great taqueria (Lolita's) a few miles south too. Thank you! read more

I would rate this place with no zero's but it doesn't allow you to. Had reservations, which they didn't get right. Sherrie (manager??) asked us to go do something so that they have time to accomodate us by cleaning the only available cabin, not only did they not do the work but asked us to find other arrangements. When we found other arrangements for the night, which she was extremely surprise at, they wanted us to stay an additional night per their two nights policy. When I explained we tried to stay the night but they could not accomodate us. She was speechless, we couldn't follow her as her conversation was all over the place. I told her that we were not staying Sunday night and not paying for it. She then offered a refund, but when it came to check in time, she rented our cabin out to someone else. Explaining to my husband that I was rude to her, which I wasn't. I guess the days of the customer is right is long gone. Where is the customer service here? We will never stay here and will never recommend this place. read more

We booked cabin 1 because it was pet friendly and the only one available. It's $50 less per night because it's not "ocean facing", although you can see the ocean from the living room. We arrived at 245, with a check in time of 4. They said over and over how they had 8 people leave and check in so they were behind. They said they'd text us and it wouldn't be later than 4. We finally got checked in about 440. The hot tub was still filling up And not cleaned,it was ready 530. So not the best start. The cabin was just fine. A wine theme. It needs updating and refreshing definitely but functional. The hot tub is in a Private room outside And is a 4 person Round model. You can't see the ocean from the hot tub there's a wall and a door. Good for privacy though. The back patio opens to a grass area next to a dilapidated closed down restaurant, which was great for our dog. A small fence would have been great, this is a pet friendly unit. The path to the beach is between cabin 3 and 4 so it was a quick walk there! The cabin has everything you could need. Blender hand mixer cooking oil coffee sugar ect... The hot tub was small and didn't stay hot. We still had a good time. read more

Just arrived, but our impression so far is not good. The "cabin" is absolutely tiny. There's no A/C and only one window in the entire place will stay open. The beach view is ok. But other than that, I'm not impressed at all. Regretting the decision to stay here already. read more

One star is too many. I tried to book a nice 3 day stay for my wife and I for a birthday. Long story short, it took 6 phone calls over 3 days and enough frustration to finally tell the out of touch manager that we do not want to stay there. She calls us on the day we were supposed to check in, twice. I called her back and said we told you over the phone that we are canceling our reservations over two weeks ago. She said she needs something to send to the "owner " via email. We never got a confirmation via email. My wife called the manager back an reiterated that we had not received a confirmation and that we had declined to stay there via phone prior to their stated cancellation policy. We were told that we were banned from the resort for life. She also stated that now she is the owner. If our card is charged it is a fairly simple operation to make a phone call and have the bank charge it back. If this is the case that you are looking for a place to stay on the north coast there are several options that I think he would find much more inviting than staying at White rock resort. Owner beware your management of your facility is killing your business. This same review is being put on multiple platforms via social media. Find somewhere else to stay like Whales head resort. read more

Although under new management the resort's complicated and messy lawsuits and litigious climate make for an uncomfortable situation. I've stayed at this resort at least four times as a short term guest. Each of those stays were hospitable and private. Homemade bread greeted me when I walked in the door and staff were courteous. However when I decided to relocate back to this area I had to stay longer and it was uncomfortable from beginning to end. No homemade bread, the property manager (different from the current staff) was unprofessional and I began to feel like I was a burden and treated like I was a low life. I was told to fix my own toilet seat (broken when I arrived). I was told I could use the on site laundry and turn in dirty towels. Soon I was told that I used too many towels and that if the owner or new management saw me using the laundry they'd take it away from me. I mean, they give you one towel, washcloth and hand towel per person but they are on the beach, the units all have hot tubs and you need to bathe right? I was given almost no notice to move out which created a huge problem because there is a housing shortage in the area. They talked about each other nonstop and the only offer I received to compensate for the miserable stay was to rent the owners cabin at an even higher rate than I was paying. And I was told to be grateful for that! Try Air bnb or VRBO instead! I did after staying here and it was the difference between night and day. read more
