For $249 a night, you get stained tile floors, a water dispenser with a filter that should've been changed presidential administrations ago, and a desk with laminate peeling like it's allergic to effort. The wood laminate flooring had an awkward cut--like something used to be there, but instead of fixing it, they just hoped no one would notice. Spoiler: we noticed. The furnishings? Straight out of a bargain bin at Walmart. The bed offered the full "camping on concrete" experience--I tossed, I turned, and I woke up with a backache that's still lobbying for an Advil sponsorship. To top it off, the entire place feels like it hasn't seen a meaningful update since the late '90s. It was maybe a quarter full, and honestly, that felt generous. Only saving grace was Rachel at check-in--she was friendly, helpful, and deserved better than working the front desk at a hotel this run-down. Unless they gut-renovate soon, this place might be checking itself out for good.

I asked if we could be assigned to a quiet room (as I had read reviews complaining about the noise). Shea, the clerk, responded she could not reassign the room because I had used Expedia. I told her I don't use Expedia or third party when booking hotels. Her response to me was that I did use Expedia. She continued to argue with me. I even allowed her to review the reservation on my phone and she claimed it was third party. I went to the hotel website and attempted to book another room to prove that the hotel uses webrez. She said Expedia uses webrez. Just unbelievable nasty rudeness from her. Like I was lying. Her tone was so nasty I would score it a 20 out of 10. I asked for the manager and she gave me a card with Andy Stoll's cell number. I called while at the desk, he screens his calls and did not answer. At that point Shea states that she sees where the problem is, that there is another guest with a similar name checking in tonight and they used Expedia. At this point she had already confirmed my first name. She apologized but there was no coming back from the nastiness. It unbelievable that someone in customer service could behave this way. She represents the hotel and should be terminated.

Andy was very accommodating and nice to talk to, he even gave me a ride when I requested last minute. Kevin was also super great and helped me carry work gear from the ice fest as well. This place needs some love!…read more It could be really fantastic, but could use a solid paint job and scrub down cleaning with some TLC. +++Located in a quiet mountain town, this is honestly one of the most reasonable places you can stay in this touristy area. But it's a hostel located inside a mexican restaurant, and let me tell you, you will crave some chips and salsa. Everything smells like mexican food, which I love, but not in my bedroom. Bathrooms are shared with the restaurant... I don't know who would find it more odd, the tourist showering in the restaurant bathroom, or the restaurant guest? We showered after 9pm to avoid that, but it's something to keep in mind. +++Nice outdoor seating area, picnic table on the patio can be used by guests, but no ice and overall very dirty. I took the comforter off the bed immediately, and there are cob webs and dust everywhere. For a little over $65 a night for a two bedroom (bunk bed style beds) it was ok, but definitely not great. I won't be back here, but if you are looking for a cheap place and aren't too picky this place will be fine for you!

We had to loan our phone to another guest who got locked out of her room. 2) Paper thin walls allow normal conversations in the adjoining rooms to be heard while trying to turn in early to get a good nights sleep (not at this place) 3) Loft has a dangerously steep ladder, and requires the climber to bend over sideways at the top of the ladder to roll onto the loft floor. Another "roll off onto the ladder" is needed to get down. Perilous for children and elders, especially if they need to get up at night. Only for agile young people, but still a steep, dangerous ladder unless you are careful. 4) There is a total of 1.5 square feet of shelf space above the bathroom sink, and no shelf space elsewhere in the room. Too bad, because there are not many other places to stay in Ridgeway.

The Jeep Rubicon we rented was just what we needed to get around. We headed out to Yankee Boy basin on the evening we received the Jeep. Then we headed out in the morning and went up Old Ophir pass on the way to Telluride. Very beautiful! Then after lunch we headed up corkscrew gulch up to Lake Como and Las Animas on down to Silverton. Not for the faint of heart! So much fun!!

A group of 8 ladies/friends did a hut to hut trip from 9/ - 9/29/25. We booked a year in advance…read moreas the hut system is very popular and you might not get the dates you want if you have a large group and want specific dates. We had an easy time booking. Everyone must sign the liability waiver prior to the trip. They are very clear in communication throughout. Once you are booked they send all the information including "hikers bible" out to you, maps and other information. They do not stock the hiker huts. They are clean. They have pots/pans/dishes etc. All of that is explained on the website and in the information that they send you. You are expected to bring your own food. They also supply a sleeping bag for you during specific months. Of course you could choose to bring your own as well. There are wood stoves in all of the huts. during summer/fall months you are supposed to go look for dry twigs, sticks and wood out on the property. There are springs or water sources near every hut. There are compostable toilets near each hut as well. Huts are about 4 to 9 miles apart. The only real complain we had about the huts were that the doors squeak and the screen doors slam. If you are in a group of 8 in the hut and you have folks waking up to go the bathroom in teh middle of the night it can get a little loud. They are VERY clear that you will meet their driver for the shuttle at a certain location in ouray at a specific time on the first day of your trip. There is not an extra charge for this. They drive you about 50 minutes to the start of the trip. The driver will answer any of your questions you have as well while you are on your drive. However, any questions that were asked by our group over the year we had before our trip were answered in a timely manner. They provided maps and gpx maps that you could download into your phone and also a detailed description of the route in the hikers bible as well. We had no difficulty with route finding. There is not really a lot of other hiking to do once you get to your hut for the day so just slow down and take it all in. The fall colors were stunning. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our time on the trail and in the huts. Would highly recommend.

The huts were cozy, clean, and perfectly located in the stunning Colorado backcountry. Everything was thoughtfully set up, making the trip both adventurous and comfortable. The scenery was unforgettable, and the logistics were seamless from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to hike without needing to carry all your gear. You hike Sneffels Traverse in the San Juan Mountain's backcountry, they maintain trails and ensure the huts are clean, well-supplied and ready for you! Their customer service and attention to detail unsurpassed!

No one really seemed to know what was going on or how long their clinics were supposed to last and things kept changing. So they stuck me in another clinic, but it wasn't a climbing clinic, which is what I had paid for and wanted. One of the guides could've belayed me, but chose instead to stand around and watch the other Guide give the lesson on anchors. I would not use this company again for anything.
