I had an issue with a flat tire(s) that I had taken to another National Tire repair shop that had done something to damage a tire. Instead of taken it back to the other shop, i had my car towed to White's. Buddy, the manager, was professional, patient and educational in explaining to me the issue and solution to my tire problem. White's did a thorough examination of all 4 tires, completed the repair in a timely fashion and car was ready for pickup first thing in the morning. White's Auto did a fantastic job fixing up my 2004 Camry to pass the MD state vehicle inspection. They were able to diagnose why the 'check engine' light was coming on when two other mechanics couldn't figure it out. Service was quick, honest and the price was very reasonable. They also play Disney movies in the waiting area, which is just fun for all! read more

Honest, friendly and reasonably priced are three rare qualities to find. I took my car in for the state inspection. These guys were great and charged fair prices to get the few minor repairs done. I took the car back again for something else a few months later and once again everything was reasonable and a quick turnaround. These guys are the best auto shop I've ever been to in Maryland. It's family owned and the son is a very nice guy and also gave me great advice on a the car I bought from an auction. Can't recommend them enough. read more

I initially found White's after moving from Buffalo, NY (eight years ago) because they honored my tire warranty; and I've been a customer ever since. I had my 40k mile service this past weekend...and debated taking my car to my dealership because of two recalls. I called White's and received a quote that was almost $400 cheaper. I have always been pleased with the service and not to mention the price. My sister gets her car serviced here as well. I've never had a problem getting an appointment and I usually drop off my car as early as I can on Saturday mornings. read more

NEVER TAKE YOUR AUTOMOBILE HERE! END OF STORY. THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU! So to elaborate I took in my car that just needed an alternator replaced. They contacting my partner who didn't know any better said yes. 700$ repair for something that online the parts are 75$ and even if I took it somewheres installed would have been maybe 2-250$ in labor. So after spending double that. We get the car to pick up and come to find out now the transmission is shot after they replaced the alternator. Now I am not a mechanic but they aren't even nearly located together and one is electrical the other in this car is mechanical by nature. So they wanted 2400.00 for a newly "used" transmission ... they just happened to have on hand. We found a way I get the car home broken shifting and all and will find a better mechanic than this place. Please stay clear unless you prefer over paying and then being told to spend more due to their negligence. Oh and "Chuck" was super un-helpful in any explanation or justification even when showing the competitive and dealer pricing for both....I will never mention these guys ever again. read more

After receiving bad news from my dealership that I had been with for over 10 years, and then finding out that the dealership was to blame for an additional misdiagnosis by another mechanic, I was very skeptical to take my car anywhere. So, after asking my colleagues on Facebook for a reliable and fair mechanic, it was suggested that I take my car to White's Auto Repair. Still skeptical, I called and presented my problem to Shaun. The service that I received prior to bringing my car in exceeded my expectations. I was given a quote (most places I called didn't even give me that), explained what the issue could be, and was even given a follow up call for clarity. When Shaun called and quoted me a price that was half of what I had been given at other places (to the tune of saving me $1,000), I made an appointment immediately! When I arrived at the shop, I was greeted by Shaun. Already, he had called for Enterprise to pick me up while my car stayed for maintenance. He went over everything that needed to be done with the car and told me the amount of days that it would take. This was crucial as I was heading out of the country and wanted to return to a car with functioning air conditioning. When it was all said and done, I was able to thank Buddy the technician, in person for his services as well as Shaun. They truly helped to decrease my bill by over $1,000 (such a bonus)! I have been taking my fleet of cars to White's Auto for over 15 years, and I have always had exceptional service. When I call to set up an appointment, I always find a pleasant and helpful person on the other end of the phone. With very few exceptions, I can usually get my car in the next day for service. I always receive a call to let me know what problems were found, what the chief mechanic recommends fixing, and what the cost will be. The quality of the work is superb! I started bringing my cars here over 10 years ago. I have brought every one of my cars since after they were out of warranty since the dealers always want to charge me more money and not complete the work. They did a great job with my 2000 BMW 323 when no one else could figure out what was happening with the fuel system. They have also kept my Honda Pilots in tip top shape. This is a good business. They are really good to their customers and they do great work. Their mechanics are top notch. read more

White's auto replaced my timing belt and water pump with my own parts on 7/2/2014. I was charged $517 on labor for the work. I noticed that my car was noisier after the repair, but didn't realize it was not repaired correctly. I put another 6000 miles on the car afterwards and the car became noisier and noisier. I was in Boston when the noise became non-bearable, so I brought the car to a reputable auto shop there to diagnose the noise. To my surprise, the mechanic found that tensioner spacer was missing in my car and the timing belt was very loose, Once he put a new tensioner spacer back, my car is very quiet. I was charged $403.8 for the repair. According to the mechanic, white's auto repair didn't put the spacer back when they replaced my timing belt. So I went to the shop to ask for a refund of $403.8 I paid for their mistake. Brandon from the store who handled my repair suggested that spacer was not required. But I double checked the Boston Mechanic, and confirmed that part is absolutely required!!! Brandon said he can give me $100 store credit, but not the refund. Because I was not happy with that, he said he would have his father (store owner) call me, but his father never called even after I paid a second visit to the shop. Here is owner Danny's response after I posted the above at yelp and my response: DANNY's REPLY As Owner of White's Auto Repair, we take great pride in standing behind all of our work. But Mr. Gu was made aware that there is NO WARRANTY for customer supplied parts as stated in writing on his invoice "White's Auto Repair is not responsible for damages or loss caused by any failed part not supplied by White's Auto Repair. Customer is responsible for any additional labor charges or replacement of any supplied part or product". I liken this to someone walking into a restaurant and asking the chef to cook their supplied food, then be upset with the meal. Point being, we have years of experience in the vast range of quality of parts. Therefore we will not install the "cheapest" part because of high failure rates. This is a perfect example of going against our better judgment of installing customer supplied parts. When something fails....It's our fault. If it were a "missing" part, vehicle would have not driven over 6,000 miles. And yes, we offered a $100 store credit as an act of good will. MY RESPONSE: This is not about the part I brought in. You didn't put the original tensioner spacer back!!! The mechanic in Boston confirmed that is required. This is like I bring you a brake pad for replacement, and you forget to put the wheel back. I'm dumb stupid and drive the car with three wheels for a year without realizing the problem. When I get back to you asking for my wheel, you say wheel is not required. After I confirm that wheel is really required, you say it's not covered by warranty, isn't that ridiculous? read more

OMG they are the worst! A family member that had good experiences referred White's Auto. So, when I took her to pick up her vehicle, I spoke with Sean about the work my Honda needed (my clock stopped keeping time and the radio kept losing the programmed stations once the car was shut-off) and my Porsche needing the passenger side mirror adjusted. Sean said the shop could fix both; when I came to pick up my Honda to just leave the Porsche, so I felt confident that the shop would do a good job and took my Honda to be serviced. When Sean called a few days later to tell me they uncovered more problems, I gave the okay to make the repairs. Three weeks later my Honda was ready. I picked it up and left my Porsche only to discover that neither my clock nor radio were fixed, the "new" steering rack they installed was not working, there was no power steering fluid and my A/C was now not working. On top of that, when I got my Porsche back, all of my settings and the key remote were messed up and passenger side mirror was not fixed. I called Sean and was told the work was under warranty to bring the vehicles back. Never ever again would I ever go back or refer anyone to White's Auto Repair! read more
