Ice cream is damn good, service could be better but no complaints. I got the German chocolate cake and it had coconut shavings, chocolate cake chunks and on the whole it was amazing. The ice cream temperature could be lower like I took the cone and even before I put the receipt in my wallet, the cone started running all over my fingers. But I digress. 10/10 taste. 7/10 service. Great hard pack ice cream. A great variety of flavors. Indoor is immaculately clean. Service is very pleasant. Not particularly speedy. Drive through can be slow, but it's worth the wait. Shakes and malts are not for straws. A spoon is a must. read more

I'm giving Whitey's AS A WHOLE a great review, but what is up with the East Moline location and their TINY SCOOPS?!? SERIOUSLY, they don't go above the edge of the dish they come in!! I thought it was a fluke, but nope! Three days in a row, tiny!! Is this a new rule? Because every other location packs it in! For the price, I think the scoops can be a bit more generous. Awful service... employees joked and laughed and looked at me occasionally as I sat and waited for about 10-15 min. After placing my order it took another 20 min with no apologies. We got there just after nine and there was a line out the door. It was just packed. The setup is a little confusing. You place your order on one end and then walk to the other end to pay and pick up your order (but some people paid where they ordered - that was the confusing part). We just got a couple scoops of vanilla and a hot fudge sundae - it was great. Very tasty. A little on the expensive side, but worth it for a one-time treat. There are eight locations in the Quad Cities. Definitely an institution. We'll be back again to try a Chipper (Ice Cream) sandwich sometime soon. read more

Whitey's is a Midwest legend and most QC kids, like me, who have moved away make this their first stop when coming home for a visit. Their ice cream is just the best I've ever had. If you come in the fall, be sure to try their pumpkin shakes. You pretty much can't go wrong here - even the frozen yogurt is better than anywhere else. Whitey's is owned by a Christian family who is also very involved in the community - for many teenagers, including me, this was their first job at the age of 15 or 16. They offer a nice employment alternative for teenage kids outside of fast food jobs, which is great! read more

This is the best ice cream around. I always get the "Graham Central Station" with a waffle cone. We were there this past Saturday afternoon as it had been snowing all day. Been here many, many times - and the prices continue to rise. They have a ton of flavors and service is usually pretty good. Brownie shake with chocolate ice cream and hot fudge flavoring (keep brownie chunky when they ask) is the best I have come up with - moose tracks is a close second. Strawberry frozen yogurt is very good, too. I am giving 4 stars because of the prices. read more
