They service the Wedowee, Al. area. We had been trying to get the only glass person, in our area to replace a mower caused crack, for nearly 3 years. B&L always promised to come but never did. Glass Doctor didn't service this area, & that continued part of this frustration. We called Whitman's on a Friday, they came out on Tuesday. Our double pane window problem had turned in to a 3-double pane window problem. They ordered the glass & came in under 2 weeks to replace them. They were always early, polite, skilled. We replaced all 4 of this wall of windows so they matched. (I didn't want the grid in these windows, again). As they were large windows I think pricing was fair & about what we expected. Can't say I compared pricing, as no other company would come. But I will happily use Whitman's for any future glass needs we have. read more

we had a chip in the windshield on our Motorhome. Talked to them first and then took it in for them to see if it was fixable without replacement. I took the risk the repair could further damage the windshield. however, it was fixed and looks like bug splatter only. hard to see where damage was. awesome job. read more

They installed shower doors. 1 came scratched and they pointed it out and arranged a replacement immediately.

Working out of town is tough sometimes especially when you encounter car problems. My window stuck in the down position and I am nowhere near home. A friend recommended Whitman's Glass. I called. These guys offer a great service at a great price. Dropped my car off today for a cracked windshield replacement, job was completed on time and at about half the price I was quoted by another company. The glass in one of my favorite mirror frames broke, so I called Whitman's glass (an hour away from me) for a replacement, as they have always done a great job at very reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the replacement didn't quite fit inside the frame. Disappointed, I called them back, spoke with Dan, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. They had an employee bring the replacement out to me in Decatur! I am grateful I have my favorite mirror back, and I am very thankful for Dan and his team doing more than expected to make their customers happy. I highly recommend this company! read more

Got me in and out quick to fix a chip in my windshield. I waited while they fixed it...only about 40 min. Very friendly staff!

Do not use this shop; they are the epitome of poor service. We had a rental building in Carrollton and decided to use them. They were completely unresponsive and when they finally arrived, they were so unprofessional. They damaged the frame around the window, they got glazing all over the place and the glass was cut out of square. I told them that I was not happy at all and they made me contact "Jack", the owner. Before I could even get it out of my mouth what had happened he told me that they were having hard times and they completed the job. I told him that they didn't complete it to my standards, it was out of square, they damaged the frame and made a mess. He said that all he cared about was getting paid right now and he would take a look at it. I paid him as requested and set a time and day for him to meet me there. Of course, he didn't show. I contacted him again later and he very arrogantly told me that he wasn't interested in correcting it. I wanted to know if they had another partner or decision maker in the business and they told me that he was it. I am not through with this, but I will continue it. Jack won't return my calls. I will get another company to come out and correct it. If you use these folks, know that they DO NOT stand behind their shoddy work. read more

The company has been in business for over 60 years. I took in a 1966 Mustang to have my front and back glass removed and resealed because they were the only place that I called willing to do a car that old. When I went to pick it up they showed me that they had spilled solvent on the trunk, damaging the paint. I noticed also that they had dented the stainless trim around the windshield opening (to be more specific, there was new damage in addition to some that was already there). I know it's a difficult job, but they're pros, right? They recommended Garners Body Shop to repair the trunk so that is where I took it. Garner's took about a week and did a good job but couldn't exactly match the paint. So I went back to Whitman's with the car. They asked about the paint (didn't bother to go outside and look for themselves) and I said that it was 'ok' but not exactly the right color. That was all they asked and then presented me with the full-priced bill with zero consideration for having damaged my paint or stainless or having had my car in a shop for a week. I haven't had the car in the rain yet so I don't know if they solved the leaks. Update, 4/18/14. It leaks. read more
