I've had iffy cuts that didn't bring out the best in my bouncy soft loopy graying ringlets. I have great hair but had to take a hatchet to it myself to try to get it to do the deed. Agreed on a price beforehand, then he got an attitude when I asked for a blow dry- he said it would be extra. Okay. I'll pay extra. His whole body language changed and got an attitude like he was mad that he had to blow dry my hair after the cut. Then, he started complaining saying that he usually charges more for the length of my hair. When it was all done, he never showed me the back of my hair or handed me a mirror. Robert is worth every moment, cut, and penny spent with him. I had my hair cut done a few months ago and, to this day, my hair looks amazing. It's really hard to find someone you can trust to do your hair right. But I finally found a place where I can go to with doubting his skills because he is consistent. Unlike other places who work with multiple stylists and may pass you to another stylist you didn't have before, he is the only one working at the parlor. You feel special, he puts great music on, and is a great conversationalist. I also liked that he asked me what music I wanted to listen to. He has great advice on how to fix and treat your hair as well. I highly recommend him to others who want to finally call a place there hair parlor go-to. Fyi, he does have different rates. At the time of this post, haircut only is $45. Wash, haircut and blowdry is $75. Color can go from $75 up to $120, depending on the number of color tubes needed. I really wish that I had as good of an experience as everyone else that has been here, but I unfortunately cannot say that truthfully. I went in just needing my ends trimmed and I walked out with layers that start at my earlobe when I only have shoulder length hair. I specifically said that I did not want layers because I already have very fine hair but yet I was given chunky and uneven layers. Robert did not tell me what he was doing while cutting my hair and I was made very uncomfortable that the salon smelled like marijuana when I walked in. He also did not use any product in my hair (like a heat protectant) before blow drying my hair two separate times, leaving my hair extremely dry. First lets talk about Robert's cuts... We hosted a animal rescue adoption event at Whoop Dee Doo Beauty Parlor and all the women and a few people who came by to check out the event ended up getting cuts by Robert. His prices are beyond reasonable, especially with the decades of experience he brings to his craft... ALL the women left feeling like new people! One gal kept exclaiming "my hair has bounce! it never bounces" and a couple of the other women didn't even want to get out the chair because they were so relaxed! The setting is lovely! There is an outdoor area and an indoor area and while it is located conveniently near major streets it feels like a mini oasis with it's canopies, curtains, plants and vintage decor. I didn't have time the day of the event so I went back a few weeks later to get my hair done... Robert gave it an awesome bob that looks great worn straight (my natural hair) and curled (how I normally wear it.) He was efficient, pleasant and my hair feels healthier than ever! In addition to the hair salon, as I mentioned above, Robert hosted out animal rescue, Watts Project, adoption event... we had a lot of success from that because the location is great directly across from a cafe and on a street with a fair amount of foot traffic. It just speaks to what a great heart Robert has that he let our organization take over his space for the day... he also hosts a lot of other cool pop ups at his shop too so it's worth checking the space out, getting a trim and finding out what happening there... all around great place, great cut, great guy! read more

My older sister took me to get a haircut here right around the holidays and my hair was so long and thick that I just wanted to chop it all off. I asked Robert for a layered bob with bangs and he delivered. He cut my bottom layer short to give me volume, then thinned out the massive amount of hair I had in order to blend everything in together. This hair cut is so low maintenance but took so much time and was so intricate I'm really impressed. It was a little pricey but it included him washing my hair and then blow drying it at the end.
