Food is really really good here but the staff is incredibly rude and even slower than they are rude. It took 15 minutes to get a bagel (this is not uncommon - it's happened almost every time we've gone) and while I always walk in with a smile and a good attitude, they've screwed up orders multiple times as well. We moved to Haverhill a few months agi and I was so excited to finally be near a breakfast place. Looks like I'll just continue to go to the other bagel place from now on (also, to the girl with the dreds - it's called customer service for a reason. The food is good; made fresh, but takes a while to receive. LOTS OF items to eat, But when you order too much they'll forget an item or two, SOMETIMES (depending who is working) they'll screw up an order and also be confused on how to operate the order screen. The coffees are good; they have a Pumpkin Pie Latte all year round. The space is small and congested so it's hard to find a seat to eat and also wait in line, but the food makes up for it. read more

Very disappointed today. I've gone into Wicked Big Cafe for frozen espresso a few times now, and always LOVE it. Today, I thought I would try some food, and ordered a bagel with cream cheese.... pretty simple enough, especially with three employees and only two other customers in the whole store. After about 15 minutes, I asked one of the girls about the bagel we had been waiting for, and got a sigh before "she's taking it off the grill now". After that mess, I left with my order and am now sitting with a cold, chewy, nearly UNCOOKED bagel. Still trying to figure out what took the 15 minutes, because it wasn't my bagel cooking. Well I can't complain about the hours since they are open in the morning before I go to work and on my lunch break from work. Not to mention being about a 2 minute walk from my work. I probably go here between 1-4x a week. I love the iced tea and have also tried a breakfast wrap the bohemian wrapsody. For lunch I usually get the garden wrap or have had the turkey panini. Seeing 4.5 stars I had big expectations and we drove 30 minutes out of our way because we were hungry for a panini. They were dry, and bland. Smoothies were good but don't go for a sandwich. Unfortunately I will not return. read more

This place is nice, has a great little atmosphere. I have been considering moving to the area and stopped in for a quick breakfast. My iced americano was great, and the scones and crumb cakes were also really tasty. i have only one complaint, and this keeps them from getting a fifth star....If you serve iced drinks (tea, lattés, cappucinos, coffee, chais, etc.) you must must MUST offer a simple syrup to sweeten the drinks. Granulated sugar does not dissolve into a cold beverage so you're left with sugar crystals at the bottom of your cup. Some crazy new englanders like to suck up the sugar from the bottom of an iced coffee (no doubt, learned from when Dunks first introduced their iced coffees) but its really so much better if you can get an even distribution of slight sweetness throughout the drink. UPDATE: I've upgraded to 5 stars because the last time i was there they had some really tasty sandwiches and they had out agave syrup (good enough!) to sweeten iced drinks. I was really excited when I found this cafe because i reminded me of the places in my college days where I spent most of my time studying. The first time I went here I got an iced coffee and the Rock N' Roland. The coffee was really good but the sandwich tasted really strange..kind of like, sour?? I don't know, I don't suggest it. When you walk in, it's a little bit chaotic. The ordering area of the restaurant is small so you have a line and some people out of place waiting for their order. The barista wasn't very friendly either. The girl had her arms crossed and didn't acknowledge me until I started ordering. After they made my order, I wasn't offered a tray for my two drinks so I spilled hot coffee all over myself while I was trying to maneuver around the line to leave. Parking is also a hassle and even though the coffee is good, it's not worth coming back for. read more

Sounds cliche but they actually DO have the greatest coffee anywhere. Certainly better than the "dishwater" served by DD and other donut places. Bagels are wonderful and a veggie cream cheese order gets you the perfect bagel with with cream cheese and freshly chopped veggies on top. Almost too good to believe. Friendly, accommodating staff and we love the funky interior. In a beautiful area, and easily walkable from the nearby parking lots. read more

As others have said this place is a very cute coffee shop in downtown Haverhill. I have often spent an afternoon there doing homework (free wifi). Lately though my ice coffee has been a hit or miss. It is either perfect or watered down. Definitely a bummer. Also, as others have said you can wait up to 10 mins in line...just to order an ice coffee. If others in front of you are ordering food (which is great here) it will take forever for them to get to you and take your order then make your ice coffee. In the morning it can be very frustrating as I just want an ice coffee. All in all it is a great local place with reasonable prices and often friendly service. Just make sure you have time to wait in line. Perfect for coffee and lunch w friends or an afternoon of homework! read more

This a neighborhood coffee shop. Everything is made fresh and has a unique twist to it. For example they make their own shawarma. The prices are fair and the chai latte can be ordered with almond milk. The staff is super friendly and the music includes the best among rock and roll classics. This cozy little cafe is located just of downtown Haverhill. It is a GREAT addition to the city , as it is the only place to get a real cup of coffee or espresso drink. They use coffee beans from Carpe diem in Maine. The prices were reasonable and the menu was fresh . The Staff were also friendly and helpful. This cozy cafe is nestled in downtown Haverhill--there are chairs and seats in the windows for your viewing pleasure. The menu board is huge and make it hard to miss their crazy sandwich selections. i don't usually get food but i was in a rush and missed breakfast at home so i tried the 'rockin' roland' and was very impressed. it had avocado, feta, egg, and a few other ingedients on wheat bread and was excellent and fresh tasting. the coffee is okay, i had mine with some peppermint and mocha. it's not very strong. very decently prices and the staff is very friendly! read more

I've been here twice now. Each time I've tried a different breakfast sandwich. I like real eggs in my breakfast sandwiches, and this place doesn't have that. It's a sub-par breakfast sandwich. The bacon isn't great either, definitely not fresh. Reminds me of what I ate in college. I haven't tried their other sandwiches though, so don't get down! Otherwise, everything is average - coffee, tea, prices. The atmosphere is definitely cool though, that I can attest positively to! One time I was in a rush, and specified that to the cashier, and the staff started watching YouTube videos. Finally the owner (not positive) spoke up and ordered them back to work. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. The place is cold because the door blows in cold air constantly, the decor is dirty and shabby. The seating is also uncomfortable. It's definitely not "hipster", more Salvation Army. My coffee was watery and tepid. The food in the case looked unappetizing. There is zero reason to come here other than there aren't that many coffee shops around I guess. They have a lot of potential but miss the mark, like some of the other coffee places around town. read more

This is what a breakfast "cafe" should be. Small, quaint, simple.... and oh so delicious. It's difficult as a man to admit that you enjoy such tasty treats (breakfast panni with peanut butter, granola & honey on cinnamon swirl bread) but then I'd be lying. This was a cute spot for lunch -- conveniently located, cozy atmosphere, and the food was pretty good. My biggest complaint centers around speed/efficiency. We came in for lunch on a Sunday and while it wasn't dead in there, there were only a couple of people in line in front of us. I overheard the two men working behind the counter seemingly stumble their way through several orders -- if I didn't know better I'd think they had JUST freaking opened their doors. Between the two customers in front of us and the two of us, they got one order wrong, took two other orders and then realized a few minutes later that they were out of a key ingredient so we had to re-scan the menu for a different order, and just generally seemed to not know WHAT was going on. I like trekking out on a chilly morning for a block or two to get a great cup of coffee and some passable bread-based chewy thing for breakfast. The coffee is the vitally important component - and a nice, off-beat atmosphere makes it even better. I was SO glad to see our daughter's apartment is in close proximity to a cool, funky coffee shop! The worker dudes were cool and friendly - the coffee was rich and vibrant - and what's MORE - the foodies were actually health-responsive while still being tasty! I have to make this at home: A tuna-based wrap with cranberries and pine nuts. It was to love. There are sweetbreads and other more healthy-type wraps (and some enormous chocolate thing I valiantly avoided.) There are only about 5 tables, but the turnover is pretty good. Extremely friendly staff. Oatmeal is absolutely delicious! Prices are fair. I've had the chicken salad wrap for lunch and it was good as well. They recently added hash browns to the menu, which I enjoyed. To me though, coffee is nothing special. Rather bland. I prefer Heavenly or Perfectos by a long shot. Always have been a fan of downtown Coffee shops and Big Wicked Cafe has been an awesome spot, food is always neat , the tables clean the customer service very good friendly staff can't complain.
