Lookin for a spot to enjoy some good chicken and beer while watching your favorite sports? Wicked Chicken is a great option! (right across from Santa Clara University) They have plenty of TV's on all four walls... they were playing Giants vs A's baseball on some TV's, and NBA playoffs on other TV's (got to see Warriors finish off the first round!). The place had a lot of foot traffic for a Wed night, but not crowded, and there was plenty of seating available. Half the restaurant regular tables and the other half bar height tables and chairs, plus a few actual seats at the bar, as well as a few tables outside. There was no line when we arrived, no wait to order at the counter. They have plenty of beers to choose from. And the chicken tenders were pretty good, the white meat chicken wasn't dry and tasteless like other places, and breading was light and crispy with good flavor. Various sauces and rubs to choose from as well. I tried the traditional buffalo and sweet red chili. Both were delicious and perfect for dipping. The beers were good as well. The Shadow Puppet Efficiency triple IPA was strong! Narrative Fermentations Decisions Were Made had an appealing floral taste I liked. The Pizza Port Bacon and Eggs draft.. well I liked the name, it made me hungry for breakfast :D Service was satisfactory, staff helpful and quick to get us what we needed (napkins, plastic utensils, etc.). Casual yet inviting atmosphere, easy parking (restaurant located right behind Safeway), lots of menu options, great view of TV's from any seat/table. I was happy with my experience and would definitely return.

Very hit and miss. Sometimes their take out service irks me, because the quality of the things you order isn't worth the trip on your lunch break, or for whatever reason, really. The ladies here and friendly AF, and when they're ontop of their game the wings can be good. I recommend getting the atomic wings with sauce on it. Even the tater tots if you're randomly craving them lol. Beer is decent if dining in but sitting outside, and the fried mozzy sticks, onion rings and jalapeno poppers are standard-i'd pass. Safeway and taco bell is next door so don't settle lol P.S. and i cannot stress this enough, if you are doing take out, check that MF so you won't be disappointed like i did in the past lol!!!! Sometimes they won't give you ranch of the 'sauce on the side' so we had to make another trip back a few times in the past. 3-4 stars really for the ladies that consistently give great service, as well as being the closest chicken spot with atomic sauce than driving to smoke eaters.

As y'all must know, I'm on a mission to support locally owned small businesses. I've been wanting to give Wicked Chicken a try even before COVID19 but never made it to that side of town. I had a strong craving for chicken wings yesterday and Wicked Chicken was the only spot in the area I found with indoor dining. I'm so over takeout and delivery. Anyway, when we arrived -- there were 3 tables open for seating with an additional 4 tables outside for patio dining. The restaurant is a bit dark but probably because it's more of a chicken wing joint where you would roll up with the squad to have some beers and watch the game. The gal that assisted us was nice and tried her best to be helpful but I would have to admit -- there were too much decisions to make at the register. "You could do this but can't do that, etc." All I wanted was the 25 wings family meal and with multiple flavors but I guess -- you could either chose two flavors at the time of ordering OR order them all plain and purchase dipping sauces at .50 cents a piece separately. I don't mean to be complicated but ordering shouldn't be so much work. Note to management: I would suggest being more flexible for patrons ordering from the menu. The focus should be on the experience and not so much on what would be inconvenient to modify. We ended up ordering the "Wing Meal" which came with 25 wings (2 flavors only) and 4 sides. For our two flavors, we chose Lemon Pepper and the Spiciest sauce they have to offer which is Global. In addition, we ordered garlic fries. The four sides we chose were the only four options on the menu: fries, mash potatoes, coleslaw, and a garden salad. With gratuity, it came out to roughly $60. The food was fine -- flavors were all in sync, and portion sizes were larger than you would get from your usual chicken wings spot. And no doubt, the wings were definitely bigger than your average Wing Stops. Other than streamlining the ordering process, I don't have anything else to report. So, if you're trying to make it a chicken wing sort of night -- consider Wicked Chicken to be an option. Bring the family or your squad, and support a local small business.

Located right by Santa Clara University, parking was pretty easy to find. There are lots of spaces in the area. Noise level is quiet-average. There weren't many customers but the music and television were making noise. The employee was very nice and welcoming. I ordered the Go west burger (4.5/5): crispy crunchy bacon combined with the perfectly toasted burger bun. The BBQ flavor along the with tender patty really hit. The onion rings added that nice crisp at the end. The fries were alright. I wish they were a bit crispier and they were quite salty. Shout-out to the employee working and his appreciative attention to detail. After I finished ordering he asked me if I wanted a cup for water. It's also nice that they bring the food to you. Google/apple pay is not accepted. If you are an SCU students, the access card flex points are accepted. Overall, Wicked Chicken is a good place for SCU students to get solid chicken food. Recommended.

The bites and sauce were good. They charged for 1 ranch. And the chicken sandwich had good flavor but just smallest piece of with the chicken

Red Chili Wicked Wings (Served w/Celery & Blue Cheese Dressing, 5pcs/$10.99)- 3/5 stars

2.5 stars overall, but rounding down since I hope the owners will take notice of the recent lower reviews to improve the food quality. It's never a good sign when fried food isn't made properly, and/or dishes aren't prepared consistently. I'm surprised this was my first visit to this location of Wicked Chicken, formerly known as Cluck U and SmokeEaters. I've always assumed I've been to this location for some reason, and didn't realize how close to Santa Clara University it was. I stopped by around 1:30pm the Friday after Thanksgiving since they had a new BCBS varietal on tap. They were fairly busy at the time with people enjoying their food inside, but there was no line and the outdoor patio was empty. You place your order at the front and pay, and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your order is ready. It took less than 10 minutes to receive my food, and I tried: -Red Chili Wicked Wings (Served w/Celery & Blue Cheese Dressing, 5pcs/$10.99, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rIzIx_SOx76ia_6Z0ycxvg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Eh, very average wings. They were meaty, and I liked that there wasn't a super thick layer of batter; however, the wings were overfried and on the dry side even with the sauce. The red chili sauce was good though, and like a thai sweet chili. They didn't have the mango madness flavor available that day, and I feel like I would've liked that a lot more. At least the celery was fresh, but the blue cheese dressing was on the thin/watery side. -Garlic Fest Chicken Sandwich (Garlic Spread, Melted Cheese, Served w/Fries, $12.99, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ZPWhFqUG0AbENABbT_f_tg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): You can choose from grilled or fried for your chicken, and I went for fried. It was fried decently, but this sandwich was very mediocre overall. They needed some vegetables on this (lettuce, at the minimum), and it was overly cheesy and salty. The garlic spread was ok, but didn't have very much garlic flavor. The fries were underdone and sad and greasy- skip! Service was ok, but not very friendly or engaging. Most staff were wearing masks correctly. They had plenty of indoor seating available, and a few tables outdoors. I appreciated that they had TV's indoors and outdoors (the TV's there were off when I went, but I'm assuming you can request that they turn them on), and they had signs advertising that they show all the Sunday football games. They had 10+ beers on tap and also sold cans of other craft beers, and I would come back for their craft beers and to try their wings again. They have specials available Mon-Thurs (Monday: $4 domestic pints/Tuesday: Wing Special/Wednesday: $1 off 16oz craft beers from 5-10pm/Thursday: Bite Special). Parking was easy to find at the time since there were plenty of spots in their shared lot.

Chicken 3 Tenders Sauce on the Side

I looove fried chicken!! This place is located next to SCU. I think it was the old smoke eaters but I could be wrong? There was a good amount of parking so you don't need to worry about that. I got the three price tenders and was debating between it and the four.. Ended up ordering the three since I wasn't too hungry. There are tons of sauces for you to choose from too! I highly recommend getting the traditional death if you want a good kick. You can ask for the sauce on the side. When I got the chicken, I was actually surprised how big the pieces were! It was crispy on the outside which I loove. Boyy was I stuffed after. I do want to try the garlic fries next time. Overall, I'd come back for some waangz and fries!

    Poorly lit parking sign
    Zhuohong H.

Wicked Chicken had my car towed. I shop at Safeway often and left my car to go to SCU library for about 2 hr. I wasn't even parked in front of their place and it was only about 15% full. The parking restrictions signs are also not well lit and easy too miss (like I did). Lost $350 on the tow. Be Careful! Would've appreciated a warning note instead. Probably not going to eat here.

We were seated outside and I did not get a chance to go to the inside. The outdoor is decorated with fake green plants and heat lamps are installed. It's comfortable. Some of the white chairs looked quite dirty, though. It was a birthday party with a white dress code, so I was a bit concerned. The cocktail menu is beautiful. We tried Butterfly Effect, Espresso Martini, Caffe Al Pistachio, and Thai Strawberry Thing. I found the Butterfly Effect refreshing, but I like my Espresso Martini the most because it's creamy and tasty. The alcohol bitterness was covered up well. If you like sweeter drinks, the Caffe Al Pistachio and Thai Strawberry Thing tasted like candy. The Caffe Al Pistachio did not look like the picture on the menu; there's no layer of pistachio foam on top. We ordered so much food! -Mexican Street Corn: nicely presented and tasted fine. It's a bit hard to cut into smaller pieces however. -Shrimp Ceviche: ok, good portion for a large party to share. The chopped shrimp was a bit too small for me. -Buffalo Cauliflower: Slightly like the Indian cauliflower dish but I love how chunky the cauliflower is and how soft the texture is. -Fried Chicken Sando: good sando, but hard to be bad with fried food. So it's a safe choice if you don't know what to order. -Loco Moco: We were asked how well we wanted the steak to be and our choice of egg; which seems strange to me to imagine having scrambled eggs on top. I like the dish in general; we doesn't like burger patty, eggs and gravy sauce. -Uncle Dave's Chili & Cornbread: Good chili, beany and tasty. The corn bread is also good in texture, dense but not crumbly. Any time there's an actual person's name on the dish picks up my curiosity and interest. -Jambalaya: The right amount of spiciness! The rice is soft, chewy and soaked up all the flavors. Good size and amount of shrimp. -Garlic Noodles with Salmon: The most popular dish on our table. Lots of chopped garlic making the noodles flavorful. Another safe choice if you don't know what to get. -Molten Chocolate Lava Cake: delicious, and the cake is baked just right. Soft in the inside, chocolaty and rich on the cake. -Ube Cheesecake: The most loved dessert with distinct ube flavor. -Churro Waffle: the waffles tasted chewy and it's a good portion with lots of fruit, ice cream, and chocolate sauce. It's a bit too sweet for me. The table provided forks and napkins but no knives. Some dishes came with a service spoon or knife, but we wish there were knives in the utensil holder so we can do more self help. One thing I am pleasantly surprised is the reasonable prices. Most entrees are under $20!
