I was driving through Columbus and wanted a good cafe meal. I thought this would a good place based on reviews. We thought we would make a quick pit stop. An hour later we are still waiting for food. Our coffee has not been refilled in that time. We found out that they just started a new menu yesterday. Maybe that is what caused the delay. I can't review the food as I don't have any yet. It is fairly expensive. $20 for Chicken and waffles and $17 for a burger. I guess if you want to stay all day and chat this might be the place for you but definitely not if you are in a hurry at all. This was the cutest spot! Stopped in to have lunch before heading to the airport. The tomato basil soup was exceptional! It had just the right balance of ingredients- not too much cream with just the right amount of tomato! The buttery croutons were a bit of heaven! It was hard to decide what I would eat as much entree because everything on the menu sounded so good. With every table served, I was changing my mind. I decided on the Steak Salad. The steak was prepared perfectly and the grilled veggies were delicious. The mushrooms were a bit salty, and I left them, but the other veggies were good. The dressing was a bacon vidalia onion vinaigrette... OMGOODNESS... I could have drank that from a glass! It was phenomenal! I was too full to try desert, but it sounded amazing! Stopped in Wicked Hen a couple of weeks ago for dinner, and I'm so glad we decided to give them a try. Everything from the atmosphere, to the food and the service was great. We had the deviled eggs, which we really enjoyed. I had the duck breast and my husband had the pork shank; both were outstanding. And their key lime pie was the perfect ending to our meal. We can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. It's so nice to have such a great place so close to home. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would! They don't deserve even 1. Me made reservations the day before because we had a party of 12 at 11AM, which is what time they open. We were the first table and only table for about 45 minutes. The server was horrible and unattentive. I'm not sure if the pay size intimated her or what. We didn't end up leaving until 1:30 and 2 of our guest never got food. Food came out burned and over cooked for others. None of the food came out together. Some had completely finished eating while others still had no food. We asked for the manager and was told he was also the cook so it would be a few minutes. When he did come to our table he came with his mouth full of food. Idk make he samples it all before it comes out but how are you reading when everyone at our table isn't even eating. When it came time for the checks they wanted to do charge the full price for the people who never even got food. The waitress ended up with almost$50 in tips due automatic gratuity. This restaurant has the most unprofessional and racist staff I've ever encountered. Little did they know, more people saw what was going on than they think or tried to cover up. Mallory, who I guess was the manager, pushed an elderly woman to her knees. When confronted, the staff and the owner stereotyped the group and accused them of trying to scheme the restaurant by sitting upstairs... where they were told was available and open seating. And, there's no cause for this assumption other than racial profiling and discrimination. Specifically, the group made it known that they wanted to sit separately and had no problem being split up due to the small space. However, Mallory insisted that the group was up to something. I still don't know what she was assuming and what that something was. When the group was getting ready to leave because they were choosing to leave instead of being disrespected or accused, Mallory pushed an elderly woman to the floor as she barged her way through the group. On top of that, the hostess taunted them as they walked out of the door, waving and laughing. I've never in my life witnessed such unprofessionalism and blatant racism. Then, to add insult to injury, the restaurant staff and Mallory's boyfriend (I guess is who he is) spent the entire day spewing racism and microaggressions on Facebook!!! Then, when called out, they played victim and resorted to saying they have mental health issues. I'm just in shock and disbelief that I 1) had to witness that in person then 2) saw it on Facebook! We went to the Wicked Hen today for lunch & it was delicious! The restaurant itself is super trendy and up to date! They do have daily drink specials and Saturdays is half off their sangria! The staff was friendly from the hostess to our waitress, and the service was quick! I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was amazing, not overdressed, with a side of sweet potato fries! The fries were also fantastic, they had a sweet glaze on them and they were crisp! I highly recommend this as a side if you stop in! We'll definitely be back to visit! read more

Wicked Hen DELIVERED! I booked a holiday dinner for our office staff in advance, and we had about 14 people in our party. The reservation process was easy peazy. I had never been to Wicked Hen before (I just trusted the Yelp reviews... thanks again, Yelpers!), so I had no clue what we'd be walking into. The decor left a little more style to be desired (but again, this is my trendy big city 'tude coming thru). However, it was nice and on the laid back side. We ordered a ton of appetizers and entrees. All of the appetizers were FANTASTIC! My entree was a stuffed ribeye with bleu cheese, mushrooms, kale and some other deliciousness, served with whipped potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus. Oh my goodness... it blew my mind. This was probably one of the best meals I've had in my 6 months of living back in Bama. All of our staff LOVED their meals as well. And their drinks. We were there on a slower night for an early bday outing but that didn't minimize our time at this gem of a place! Not many places can satisfy my family but they did with their delectable menu! We rarely get starters but the Thai empanadas and hummus were a great sign our entrees we're going to be delicious! The chicken Marsala was outstanding. Very moist and flavorful. The shrimp and grits were above par. I had 2 kids order the lamb burger and they approved--esp the pretzel bun and sweet potato fries. And I'm glad our waiter talked us into the house made desserts--caramel cake and banana chocolate cake. A great way to end a superb meal!! We will definitely be back! read more

Salmon is my favorite fish and they make the best in town (and it is gluten free). I've been here a few times. Sunday me and some friends went for a birthday celebration. I waitressed for over 18 years and I was disappointed. While the food is better than a lot of places around, the service was not. We ordered an appetizer for both sides of the table, then had to ask for plates to split it. We got our main course and ALL the plates from the appetizers were cluttered around us. While we're eating, literally in the middle of chewing, we were asked, twice, if we wanted dessert. We did end up ordering dessert...while ALLLLL the plates from the appetizers, empty glassware AND main entrees filled the table. I couldn't believe it. The restaurant was not even busy. read more

This place is near our home and our "go-to" spot. The food is always amazing! I've brought out of town family & guests and thus far everyone has always been satisfied. We usually sit outside on the deck with the dogs or at the bar upstairs but have always had great service. + The owner really cares about sourcing local, including their craft beer, which we love! - I wish I could just minus -.5 because the only complaint I have is that their glasses are always dirty. With beer, if you have a lot of bubbles clinging to the side of the glass, it means it's dirty and it can affect the taste of the beer. We stopped in to the Wicked Hen for lunch while visiting my Mother-in-law on her recommendation. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and sat promptly. Very nice, open and modern space. They source everything locally, from food to the beers on tap to spirits used I cocktails. I went with the Cuban Sandwich which was locally sourced pork shank that had been smoked on site. Coupled that with the green bean side. Delicious. Wife went with the Red Curry chicken which she enjoyed. Brother in law went with the burger and was pleasantly surprised that it came with a fried green tomato! Chef Bryant even came out to make sure everything was tasting delicious, and our server PJ helped us make our drink selections so we had local cocktails that hit the spot. Went in for lunch because we had seen the restaurant and were curious. Looked online at menu and it looked pretty good. It's a very nice interior and in a cool location. The service was friendly enough but the most forgetful person I've ever had. Had to ask for everything at least twice. Very surprising for such a nice restaurant. The food was just okay. Better than a lot of places in Columbus but nothing that will knock your socks off. Nice to have places like this around, and with some better service and a tad better menu I think it could do really well.
