Love the guy that is always at the Lowes on Capital Blvd. He works fast and is friendly. Italian sausage and hot dogs are soooo good.

A lazy Saturday turned amazing when I pulled up to the bar at Bar Taco in North Hills (Raleigh) …read more First of all the drink: the bartender (sweet beautiful Kennedy) literally mixed up a FRESHER THEN FRESH thrust quencher. Like fresh squeezed limes, grapefruits, oranges is how this bar operates - right in front of you! Tossed and poured - my drink had a zing that zanged!!! Now the tacos: my order arrived and I can tell you they were smackin' good. Ohhhhh weeeee! I was dancing and talking to myself as I eat the Chicken Verde taco which was insanely tasty. Ended up ordering a second. I also had the Chinken Tinga that hit right but that Verde ... took me out! I wish I knew how to describe 'flavor'. The kind where your tongue dances. There's a tingle that makes your tongue dance. It was like that! This is a credit/debit spot so no need to come with cash. Reservation would be good at peak times but I walk right to the bar. Shout out to Kennedy -for that sunshine beaming from her soul and Zay (hope I spelled that right) for holding done the bar. Fully enjoyed my time here.

That said, the staff did step up to get our party sorted. Very crowded, very loud. Our server was pleasant and checked on us with adequate frequency. The app ordering process does not seem conducive to accommodating large groups. The app is great for a few people but confusion ensues when the trays show up as to who's tacos are who's. The food- the tacos were all quite tasty. The mushroom was a big surprise- SUPER savoury as was the duck. The ceviche was not good. The shrimp both tasted and smelled fishy (in a bad way).

Pork canitas are great, as are the salsas and guac. But the standout dish for me is the salmon. The fish is always perfectly cooked, the sauteed spinach and rice is wonderful. The sauce has just the right kick. I tried the red wine based sangria last night and it was delicious.

When you arrive there is parking in front of the restaurant as it's located in a shopping plaza. When you walk in you'll feel like you've been transported to a trendy, energetic, and coastal beach restaurant. There are also TVs at the bar if you are looking to watch sports. We checked in with the host and opted for a table. To start we ordered the queso (Smoky queso, pico de gallo, fresh cilantro) and added the smoky chorizo. The queso was very good and had a great smoky flavor with a little spice. You'll want to order an appetizer as chips are not complimentary. For drinks my partner ordered the strawberry mojito (Bacardi limon, mint, lime, soda, strawberry) which was good and on the sweeter side. I ordered the Desert Fire (Jalapeño infused lunazul, triple sec, chipotle simple syrup, lime, spicy rim) which was on the spicier side but was so good. For mains my partner ordered the Mahi Wrap (Blackened mahi, napa-romaine mix, fresh avocado, honey chipotle sauce, Caribbean salsa, grilled flour tortilla with seasoned fries) which had a nice balance of flavors. The fish was a bit overcooked but the seasoned fries and flavors made up for the dry fish. I ordered the surf & turf burrito (Grilled shrimp, marinated steak, queso rice, grilled onions, pico de gallo, queso fresco, baja crema, topped with habanero onions & arugula, cilantro served with black beans) topped with the tomato cream sauce. The sauce had a nice smoky flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. As for the steak, kind of the same issue as the fish where it was overcooked/cooked well done. For dessert we ordered the Sugar churros (Whipped cream, caramel dipping sauce) which were served piping hot and they go perfectly with the dip. We ended up stirring the whipped cream and the caramel sauce together. I definitely would stop by salt & lime cabo grill for mexican food but would opt for just shrimp as the main meat vs mahi or steak. Looking forward to my next visit to salt & lime.

Pork belly tacos are topped with salsa prieta, apple relish, cabbage and queso fresco which makes these extra delicious. Vegged Out, another solid choice. This vegetarian option does not disappoint. Red Bird Cubano, just okay. I prefer the other taco options over these. Marinated chicken topped with a yukon hash, cabbage and queso fresco. Moo Moo, my least favorite tacos. Must like spice, the salsa brava gives these tacos extra heat that is extremely hot. A few of the pieces of filet were tough, I did not think that these tacos were worth $14. *Each order contains three tacos with a small side of chips and salsa. Mexican Street Corn: I love corn, there is no denying that fact. However, this corn is overpriced. Half an ear is topped with crema and cortija cheese for $4. For that price I would definitely expect an entire ear or for them to lower the price.

The donuts looked great on display when you walk in, but unfortunately my experience with the service was disappointing. I ordered a crème brûlée donut and noticed one had a visible finger imprint, as though it had been picked up and put back. There were several other fresh donuts available, so I was surprised it wasn't replaced with a better looking donut. The display case was quite full despite it being later in the day, which made the situation even more frustrating. We ordered a glazed donut, crème brûlée donut, and a Dubai chocolate donut. Unfortunately, none of the donuts lived up to expectations. All three were served cold, the crème brûlée tasted less than fresh and the Dubai chocolate was noticeably dry. I also felt like the Dubai chocolate was overpriced at $7 given the quality. Overall I left disappointed. While the donuts look appealing, the service and quality didn't match the hype, and I don't see myself returning.
