It is not worth paying the 15.99 for what they put in ur bowl. If you're increasing the prices, at least keep the portions the same size. Wicked Poke is located in the same shopping center as LA fitness; right next to the escape room game company. I've been craving poke for months now and haven't checked out the poke situation in north county until last night. For a Friday night around dinner time, I would have expected it to be a tad bit busier than it was. Wicked is pretty much the typical poke spot, i.e. choose your base and go down the line like Chipotle. I opted for the half&half option of white rice and salad. The mixed salad greens were crisp, but the rice was a little more mushy than I usually enjoy. If I were to choose again, I'd opt for half&half with brown rice instead. When trying a new fish place, I go safe and try the salmon. So all three scoops of my regular size bowl were salmon. Fish tasted fresh, but the scoops are definitely smaller compared to other places. The employees were nice and let me try the different sauces before I chose which one I wanted on my bowl. And I didn't feel pressured to make rash decisions to quicken the speed of the line. Its fresh, they offer great toppings and its well priced. I was very happy with my poke bowl! The staff here was super friendly and helpful. I've been to this place twice, it's the nearest poke place to my new house. It's a solid place to get poke, a little pricey compared to other places I've been to. I signed up for their rewards program and they send me coupons regularly. They have good proteins and a good selection of mix-ins. So happy to see so many of these Poke places pop up everywhere in North County, becuase I am hella addicted to these bowls lol. This shop is located in the same shopping center as the Toys R Us, tucked on the left hand side of that store you will see Wicked Poke ^_^ Inside is very clean and well kept, you are immediately greeted by the staff who look eagerly ready to serve you up their tasty bowls. Unlike most places, they've set their menu to where you order as you go down their food line (very much similar to ordering a sandwich in Subway). You pick and choose what you like all the way to the end of the line then finally pay. They carry all the basic toppings for your bowl, but as for the fish they have all the basics as well (salmon, tuna, albacore, crab and octopus) I only wish they had Yellow tail since that is my faveeee! They have plenty of seating inside and very few for their outside patio. Overall, service is friendly and quick. Restaurant is clean and very well kept and the price is just right! Again, even though they didn't have Yellow Tail, that didnt prevent me from enjoying my delicious creation so you can bet on it that I will be back here again. read more

As a tourist, it was my first time at Wicked Poke. The employees were very kind in helping me make decisions with my poke bowl and were very patient. They have a good variety of different options to choose from! The place is clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that in order to go to the bathroom, you have to walk next door. Guys, I'll start by saying that music is an important asset for the ambience and whole feeling of a place. It really is. Ok so a month or so I posted a tip saying how the music they played was current "top 10" pop/hip hop garbage. Wicked Poke is like any other build your own poke place... Except for one major thing.... They give you 3 scoops of tuna and 3 scoops of rice for the same price that most places give you 2 scoops of each! Wow, yum! I am a total sushi-snob and won't eat fish at most of the places in north county but I decided to give Wicked Poke a shot and it's so good! The menu options are fun and the girls working were friendly and helpful to us for our first time. I got the regular bowl with 2 scoops spicy tuna plus one scoop regular tuna, all the mix items, 3 different sauces, and most of the toppings and it came out to around 9 bucks! I wish the choices on the bottom were labeled better, also I think it would be really cool if they had a couple of "specialty" bowls so that if you're in a hurry you could just pick one that they have already crafted the ingredients, instead of building your own. My boyfriend and I could each only finish about half of or regular sized bowls so if you don't have a huge appetite, I suggest sharing or maybe getting one scoop or rice as your base :) We will be back! read more

I can't say enough good things about Wicked Poke! I hit it up for lunch for the first time this week & I will definitely be visiting regularly. What I loved: Clean restaurant, modern decor, and friendly customer service. Great sized bowls/portions for the cost (compare it to the build your own poke bowl at Lazy Acres, it's way more affordable!). Fresh: I'm picky about fresh fish & produce, they came through on this- two thumbs up. Drinks: Cane sugar soda! If you've read my other poke reviews all across the country you might think I'm some sort of poke nazi only praising and supporting the purest forms, but my only real umbrage is with the concept of build your own chipoke into a meal and the oversaturation of the business model. On first thoughts is that it's location is pretty tucked away, but with recent additions of LA Fitness and Daiso I can see the uptick. The entire complex lacks the proper signage to stand out and from many angles you can't even tell what's right in front of you, doesn't help that the building base is older than I am. Classic base, protein, toppings, sauce build your own methodology. Some things I'd like to point out (when doing the crab salad and spicy tuna they scoop that direct into the container and not the mixing bowl, it's the proper way to do it as the sauce when mixed changes the ingredient in whole. Also shout out to their biodegradable/compostable containers they now use. Kudos for exercising humanity in choosing. You will never get a piping hot scoop of rice with your bowl, unlike some places who turn this into a plate lunch they understand that heat will cook fish. I generally love salmon, octopus and tuna for my proteins and have not been disappointed, though I can taste the sugars from sriracha in the spicy tuna (prefer togarashi or chili oil/flakes as they don't' discolor the fish). Avo add is free, though that's really a very California ingredient, also stemming from this weird culture where people get California rolls at all. I steer clear form scallops if there is any milky liquid it's a sign of additives, I also steer clear from shrimp because let's face is garlic shrimp in Hawaii is the only way to eat it. I wish their sauces had more heat, but I'm glad they don't premix sesame seed oil in with everything because I like a lot and as an additive. I wished their green onions were cut thinner because they really are more of a garnish. They don't' skimp on the sesame seeds or furikake though they should toast them for more kick. There is never a wait and even when it's just 1 person the staff acknowledges them. I've come 1st thing in the morning, right before close, weeknights, weekends so I can say that they are consistent. Prices aren't bad and yes people will say there are better places that do bigger scoops and room for improvement, but I challenge anyone to who has been to more poke places outside of Hawaii (and not like gotten a poke salad at a Japanese restaurant) because unlike many of them and many poke shop owners I've had the real thing, spent real time in the islands and my count is over 50. Enjoy this for what it is, it's a healthy thing they are doing. I used to go on and on about kukui nuts and limo, ago, yada, yada & yada, but at the end of the day it's what people want and who am I to over criticize a wave, nay a movement. Some other things to note is it's size, it's small. The stubborn soda's are cool, but ultimately this foray into nostalgia is likely not going to last. They offer miso soup from time to time as a special. The owner is realty involved with building the business, friendly and accommodating to a fault. He lives in OC which is still the poke capital of socal (150+), so he knows what he's doing from what others are doing. read more

If you're in the area, don't miss Wicked Poke! It's a bit hidden in this massive strip mall but it's right next to LA Fitness which makes this place the perfect stop for you post-workout meal. Forget Chipotle. They have the freshest ingredients, a great variety of choices for protein and mix-ins and really delicious sauces to customize it the way you want it. I can tell the owner and staff really take pride in what they offer and the quality of everything they provide really shows. The restaurant is bright, airy, modern and super clean. I loved the cute little fish decals on the walls. The portion sizes are generous so come hungry. I got the regular size and it came with two big scoops of sushi rice (white or brown, your choice or you can choose mesclun greens for a low carb option) and I was able to choose 3 protein scoops of my choice. I picked two scoops of tuna and one of the shrimp. I mixed in cilantro, cucumbers, masago, seaweed salad, furikake and sesame seed oil but they also have chopped mango and pineapple to give your poke a bit of natural sweetness. I love love loved the sauces as well. The miso sauce is my favorite so make sure you give it a try. All in all, 5 stars. Great staff, great food. You really can't go wrong. read more
