Five stars for the people who arrived after me. I walked into an empty restaurant and waited to be greeted. Nobody acknowledged me, which at first I assumed was an honest mistake. Then another customer walked in and was immediately helped. Then a group of kids walked in and were greeted. Then an employee told someone else, "I'll be with you in just a second." At that point, I realized I wasn't waiting to order food--I was apparently participating in an advanced customer-service training exercise where everyone gets helped except one randomly selected individual. Congratulations to this week's winner: me. I eventually left without ordering. The good news is that the employees clearly know how to greet customers. My only criticism is that they may have accidentally skipped one. Unless, of course, invisibility has become a side effect of aging and nobody told me. read more

New go-to poke spot unlocked I just stared living part time in Oceanside, and my first (very reasonable) worry was : where will I get sushi and poke now?! I had my go-to locations in LA, but alas, I knew I would have to be courageous and explore the unknown territory of raw fish once again. They actually gave me a ton of protein for their small/normal size, which is amazing because that's what pokes all about ya know? The raw fish -the sever was SO nice. I am gluten free, and live in fear when it comes to restaurants not knowing what items they have are safe. She took my order, happily double checked everything was gluten free, and was super friendly -the speed!! I ordered on the phone and 2 min later walked in and it was being bagged. This was my first and last time here. The servers are kind of rude and not helpful at all. The price of a regular bowl, (salmon, ahi tuna, and spicy tuna) is EXPENSIVE at $17.81. I will say that it is a good portion size, but I was not impressed by the quality of the fish. The salmon was soft and buttery and the spicy tuna was flavored very well but the ahi tuna had so many pieces with skin left on which made it chewy. But what gives this restaurant a one star is that I got a random piece of fish that must have fallen into one of the trays (I think it was the seared ahi tuna since it was cooked on all sides except the middle) and it was PUTRID rotten. Like, absolutely horrendous to the point of me gagging and spitting it out. I will never go back to this place. read more

Fresh ingredients and the service was super fast. The Yankees fan from Michigan was a really friendly team member to order from and he was really fair with the scoops. I got a large Poki bowl with mixed greens base and was extremely satisfied all around. As a friendly note to other Yelpers, my GPS guided me to the parking lot in back and I didn't see an easy route to the location on foot. I love this location! The staff are always friendly and efficient when we visit. There was a long line on this particular occasion. The restaurant was clean despite heavy foot traffic. As always, my poke bowl was super tasty. The ingredients always seem to be fresh. By the time I add all of my toppings to my fish choices, I am left with a very hefty bowl of food. it's extremely filling and I often have leftovers. That way I get to enjoy two times. I love all the options to customize your bowl to include exactly what you want. This is better than when you go to a restaurant and order poke there. They don't necessarily have options for customization at other restaurants . So this is my definite go- to poke choice! They could add a few more tables to make the restaurant seem a bit more inviting. They have lots of empty floor space. read more

I went today and they barely give you any protein compared to the Carlsbad location they absolutely your plate up and the workers are always loaded with joy as well. I've been here a few times with my boyfriend on our way into the movies next door. The fish is fresh and has never made either of us sick. I recommend you get the extra scoop of protein, as it's just worth it for the amount of food you're given. Tons of topping options! From masago to seaweed salad to anything. Super convenient and relatively inexpensive for a summertime poki lunch. The employees are really nice, and if it's the end of the day they'll give you a little extra (otherwise they'd just waste it). The facility is clean, quiet, and rarely busy. The health department should pay them a visit. Their tables are covered with sticky black goo. They know it and the owner doesn't care. See the pictures. The tables are not properly finished. There was a thin layer of urethane that has worn off in many places and now food is sticking to the tables and I can't get it off. I had an amazing experience here this afternoon. My boyfriend and I stopped by so I could get some boba today. I got the Brown sugar milk tea with brown sugar boba and it was 10/10 exactly what I was craving!!! They had so many options for milk tea including a variety of boba and adds on. Ordered 2 regular bowls for about $35 including tip. The plates were absolutely stacked and pretty affordable considering its poke. I liked how they had seared ahi tuna as a protein option, never really seen that at other poke shops. They had limited sauce and topping options in comparison to other spots, but they had all the essential ones you'd expect. Process was simple and quick. The flavors and quality of fish was okay; I've had better, but it's still really good for the price. I was able to split my bowl into 2 separate meals. The interior of the shop is pretty clean as well. Overall, would come again if I'm looking for a cheap poke spot. read more

This place used to be my go-to poke place. I moved to Vista back in March 2024 and I used to have poke from here a TON of times - I was a regular! To this day, I still am, but I fear the times of me being a regular here is going to dwindle down insanely quickly. The portions were generous and it always tasted great, but over the past few weeks, I've noticed that over the past few weeks, the portions are a lot less now. Such a shame - the food itself still TASTES great, but the AMOUNT of food you're getting doesn't justify its cost now. I believe this specific Poki Poki branch is under new management. The staff has always been amazing and the atmosphere is great, but cutting down on the portions significantly will very likely get me to stop coming to this specific Poki Poki branch. New management - if you're reading this, please reconsider how much you put in the bowls! I can't pay $16.99 + taxes if I'm getting significantly less than what I used to get over the past year! read more

The guys working today at 12:20 on July 20th have some issues to work through to where they can leave their judgment at home. Off the bat I walked in and they were short and rude. When they asked if I wanted a base or not I got confused and said tuna,, then said oops, the white rice. They both make the most obvious faces at each other as if other people in the room cannot see them. So i said, "I'm sorry, I am ordering for someone else, please bear with me." Which was met with more looks and dryness. Going through the entire process of him filling my bowl was miserable as I was treated like a nuisance. Also of course your customers will be confused if you are completely unhelpful and do not explain anything or ask if someone needs help. Finishing it up, I said have a better day and then "ya'll have an attitude problem" On my way out or something. It's hard to get me to react this way as I usually understand as I work in the same field. I do hope they are able to both reflect on how they treat people as I work customer service and it's not that hard to at least hide your distain for the strangers you meet. After having a transplant I've needed a service dog for PTSD and medical alerts . I walked in and they said no dogs allowed in which I said it was a service dog and they said that they still cant be inside . Just a heads up .... That's illegal. Unless a service dog presents a threat ( aggression and such ) they are allowed in the restaurant and any other establishment. Really disappointed in the customer service as they didn't even ask what tasks she performs which is a good and legal question to ask individuals if employees are worried about the service dog being fake . Will not be going back because 1. They literally won't allow me to because I HAVE to have my dog with me ( the whole purpose of a service dog ) and 2. This was my go-to poki spot since it opened until the owner started getting greedy. Price of the bowl goes up and the portions went down, significantly. Example: if you get shrimp as a protein they limit you to three pieces per "scoop." The shrimp are sliced in half so you are only getting 1 1/2 shrimp. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Not even 3 full shrimp. That is extremely stingy and greedy. Stopped going to Poki Poki locations ever since that was implemented and quickly realized there's many other places with better quality anyways. read more

Friends, the fish this week does not taste fresh. We normally love Poki Poki Vista. But something tasted strange in my regular bowl this time - As well as my daughters. The salmon texture was just off - so much so that I couldn't finish the bowl. Also, the toppings looked messy and there was absolutely too much spicy mayo put on top. So disappointed. Ordered a regular bowl which includes 3 proteins, 1st scoop of crab is free as well. I did 1/2 brown rice and spring mix, shrimp (double) and spicy tuna. I added the free scoop of crab, edamame, tempura crisps and avocado and cucumber. You can choose no spice, mild, medium and spicy on the sauce and add spicy Mayo, miso, spicy miso etc. The bowl is enough to share, I usually share mine as not to waste the goods! Mild sauce is still a bit spicy in my opinion but nothing crazy. I recommend the tempura crisps for the texture and crunch! Staff was friendly and helpful as well. read more

My friend and I DoorDashed this after a long road trip. It came really fast and we were amazed by the portion size, maybe enough for two meals. Both of ours had a decent amount of fish and all the toppings we picked. Fresh, delicious and lots of food is what you'll get here. Also being greeted by two friendly workers was a major plus. So much goes into the Poke Bowl, even for the smallest size serving. I always split my base between brown rice and salad if they have both just to cut down on how heavy the meal will be. 3 scoops of protein plus all the other side options and the bowl is nearly overflowing. Luckily it was all so tasty and the presentation was one of the best i've seen. The only thing that got me was the spicy tuna was much to spicy for my taste. My friends who love "spicy" agreed with me, but loved it none-the-less. All good though, I will just stick to the fresh tuna and salmon. read more
