It's no wonder this location has better reviews than other Weinerschnitzels - the ladies running this place are so nice and equally important the food is fresh and good. Chili dog bread was perf and chili and hot dog were fresh. Chili cheeseburger bomb. They also had pumpkin spiced dipped cone and man was that good too. This Wienerschnitzel was one of my staple foods back in the early 1980's. I used to live around the corner and frequently cashed in on the weekly coupons that came in the Penny Saver. I also had a friend who worked there who would hook me up too. Not much has changed since then.The food hasn't changed much nor have the prices gone up much. Still at the same sketchy corner of Lincoln and St College next door to a looney bin. However the stingy Korean owner has gotten stingier. I stopped in for a couple of dawgs and fries and a coke the other day. You know a quick cheap lunch. I opened my bag on the dirty table outside. No napkins, no condiments. At least they remembered the straw for the drink. Really WTF? Back in the day they'd give you a couple with out asking. These days you have to ask. And when I did, I got one mustard and one catsup and one napkin and a sour faced attitude from the owner lady (same one from 1984) as she handed me a couple more. Never had a problem, for years they've always been courteous/friendly. However few weeks ago, I picked up food, then drove right back because one item was wrong on my order (we asked for one of the chili fries w/o ranch. No big deal, i thought everyone makes mistakes once in awhile and since they're always so nice I DID NOT go back with a bad attitude at all. Alejandra who was always very nice before gave me a hard time, she kept saying I didn't specify that, she was rude and said it at least 4-5 different times. After she reacted so rudely, I answered her angrily that I know what I ordered if it was a mistake thats cool, but I don't need her attitude or rude behavior. I decided I wasn't going to go back to them anymore but a couple weeks ago, my kids really wanted weinerschitzel so I figured what the heck, maybe they were having a bad night. Anyway, Alejandra was there again, on the speaker, her normal courteous self, as I pull up she sees me and her attitude instantly changes. She doesn't say anything rude but she's just got a cold demeanor suddenly. Today, my kids ask to go back, I order and you guessed it Alejandra again. Same thing nice on speaker, cold when I pull around. But whatever, I think I'll just pay and go, you can't be friends with everyone, lol. So, I cut out the coupon and hand it to her, she looks at it and asks if I have another one, I didn't realized it was expired, I look at the flyer (I have 2) and yup, I see it is expired 2/24 so I say oh no, this one is from the same date, I didn't even look at that. Today is 4/1. She can just say well I can't take it or something but no, here comes the attitude telling me if it was a couple days late maybe but not 2-3 months, that's too much! I'm like Ok, I didn't ask her to honor it or anything. (Though technically businesses are supposed to honor them in Ca. per law). But whatever it's not that deep. Just don't appreciate the bad attitude. If she wouldn've acted normal after that first time, I would've just let it go but 3x!? That's just crappy customer service. Well like I've posted before, I usually don't review fast food spots unless Its my go too (Live down the street, lunch spot on work days etc.). Anyways, I always go to this location at least once a month or so during my work lunch. Its a pretty small location that has a walk up window from the outside which is cool. The drive through is so small, but there's usually only about a car or two waiting so it doesn't get bad. The bad: The last time I ordered I didn't get fry's but was asked at the very end if I wanted to add some fry's or whatever else to the order. Of course I do! Nice way to up sell as well. But....If you are going to do this please make sure you give the fry's to the customer. I was surprised when I didnt have them in my bag last week. Also, if you don't ask for ketchup or mustard, you will NOT be getting any, and 9/10 they wont ask you if you want any. It's my mistake for not asking, but Ive forgotten twice in the past to ask, and of course to my surprise as a courtesy, there is never any in the bag. I have also been shorted a couple items in one order, but when I tried calling the store to see if I can get a credit, it went to some voicemail so I didn't even bother to look into it any further. The good: Place seems pretty clean, Customer service always seems to be great, I never have any issues with the workers there or the owner who I think is always there in the afternoon at least. In general its not a bad location, I just have had some issues with some orders which of course gets 2 stars since it means "I've experienced better". I had submitted a previous complaint about this restaurant giving me cold food and the wrong drink. At that time, I received a call from someone at the restaurant apologizing and telling me that that they would add me to a list so that I could come back next time and let them give me a proper order. When I arrived today, I asked to speak with the manager...making reference to this list I was supposed to be on. To my surprise, the Asian woman at the walk-up window (not sure if she was even the manger since she never identified herself) told me that they didn't have my name on the list and that since I didn't come back sooner it must have been thrown away. This added more injury to an already bad experience. Why wasn't I previously told that there was a time limit for them to honor the request remedying of my order? If they were that concerned about customer service and satisfaction, why didn't they do a follow-up call versus just throwing my name and number away? I was again very disappointed with this location and the dismissive attitude of the employee. I made a special effort to go out of my way to go back to this location. read more
