The check-in didn't work. I placed an order on the app. Pulled up and parked in one of the stalls. Tried to check-in and it said "invalid number." I did it several times and same issue. It wouldn't let me check in. I had to get out of my car and tell them I had arrived. My order wasn't ready though, they were still working on it. I went back to my car and waited. They eventually brought it out. The ambiance was very busy. Most of the stalls were taken already when I pulled up. The mozzarella sticks weren't the best. My first time to go to this Sonic was actually for a Yelp Elite Event. It was fun to go and an interesting experience. I'd always enjoyed Sonic at other locations, and this one is closer to home so I was hoping for a great time. It was fun because of the Elite event, but service wasn't up to par even that night and they even forgot I was waiting out there for them to bring me my order. But fast forward to a couple years later, I took my husband back because he had never been to a Sonic and wanted the experience. I love the sonic experience normally so back I went with him. Wow was the service ever slow!! And what makes it even more annoying is that the screens here (on both of my experiences) don't update after the food starts cooking. So you are in an unknown limbo. Because of my forgotten order at the Elite event, we checked in after quite a long wait.... nobody answered. Tried again a couple times, nobody answered. After a VERY long wait our food finally came out. No sauce, no napkins and missing an item. Ugh. I really really want to love you Sonic in Fullerton, but you are losing me man! Because I do like the food and LOVE the slushies, I will be back, but it seems too coincidental that both times I have been here my orders have been completely messed up (or forgotten) and took far too long for a "fast food" place. Twice I've been here and they are in a hurry to get you through the order process. The second time the employee had an attitude. The time to prepare the food takes time which isn't bad. Been having one of those weeks where you just want to eat junk food to forget the week ever happened! Lol I looked at the menu and picked out the strawberry mangonada slush with a hint of tajin. It was really really sweet not my favorite but I do love their other drinks and shakes here, had to try something new though. we also got two grilled cheese, a hot dog, some mozzarella sticks which were good, got onion rings but those tasted so sweet it was so weird sort of like a funnel cake with onions inside LOL idk about those but the milk shake was delicious I didn't get a photo of that though. The grilled cheese was good the bread was soft it wasn't my absolute favorite grilled cheese but it was good. Overall good snacks, Thank you so much. Waited in the drive through more than 20 minutes and no one ever came. Bad customer service, the place wasn't even full. So we just left.

Since my last review was in 2012, I'm going to assume I've haven't been here since then! I don't live super close to this one so if I visit, so I remember this place by Googling "Fast Food Restaurants Near Me." and lo and behold, Sonic popped up! I decided to download the app and order ahead. I was hoping for some kind of first-time user deal, like a free drink, or fries, but nothing. Oh well, life goes on... The app was fairly straight forward, but I did have to hunt and peck to find exactly what I wanted. I ended up with just a regular burger meal with tater tots and a drink. What I couldn't find was a way to upgrade the drink to a large. It might be there; it was just obvious to me if it was. I pulled into the parking lot and was a little confused about if I just pull up to any stop, or what. Since there were more spots on the other side, I pulled around, and for the first time I've noticed, they have a drive-thru! I didn't know Sonic's had drive-thrus since you can order from any parking spot. When I reached the other side, I saw the parking spots for mobile order and pulled in. You type in your stall number into the app, and a few minutes later, out came my food! Checking my bag before leaving, I had a childhood flashback when I saw the silver wrappings for the burger and tater-tots. I reminded me of our local A&W which used to do that. I know, I know... little things excited me. After I got home, I have to tell you, that was a tasty burger. I was impressed. And the tater-tots with cheese, perfect. I did wish my drink was larger, but that's really complaining about nothing. Of course, the entire meal was probably as unhealthy as I could get, but you have to splurge every now and then. read more

I ordered one small shake on mobile order 15 minutes before arriving thinking that would be enough time, drive through seems to be moving pretty quickly, but I'm stuck in a stall still waiting for my drink 30 minutes later. I always come for the shakes because they're good, but I didn't think it would take this long :/ Got my drink 30 minutes later AFTER waiting outside their door (probably never would have gotten it if I hadn't) and they proceed to tell me that the stalls weren't in service (it was 11:30pm) i checked in on the app at 10:57 - when it said my drink would be ready - and there was no option for drive-thru ONLY the stall. If you are not going to take the orders of countless other cars in the stalls, I recommend you put a sign up or change the ordering system online so others don't have to go through this horrible experience. read more

Putting one star is charity with the service my family and I received at this location. It is amazing that they are still running with how terrible the service is here. Waited 45 minutes. At that point had to press the red button and wait almost another 5 minutes. When I asked if there was any updates on our order the girl said " We'll be right out." They then come out and all the fries were cold, drinks watered down. We ask the girl how long was our order there. She then replies do you want them to remake your order or do you want a refund. I've been trying to order for 15 minutes, no response at the parking spot and no response at the drive thru speaker, circled the lot multiple times. We even watched someone else order and be served, but when it was our turn, for some reason nobody would answer. The customer before us who was able to order had to mention it to the staff that we had been waiting. This is not your typical Sonic review as I haven't eaten here in years. I come here for the ice! I'm usually more of a wino but I recently started making Tiki cocktails at home. A friend mentioned that the ice at Sonic is the greatest for making these cocktails and I now agree! This location is only a block from my home so when I feel like making some drinks at home, I'll go through the drive thru and order an extra large cup of ice. They obviously get this order frequently since they don't even question it. It's a mere 96 cents for an extra large cup of their great pebble ice. They also sell a ten pound bag but unfortunately I don't have the room in my freezer for it. The drive thru ordering screen actually promotes their ten pound bag of ice. The food was good, the stalls where you would park was clean. The eating area was also clean. I ordered pick for pickup and the food came out quick. The young lady didn't ask if I needed anything else and wasn't very welcoming. There was something that I had forgot to order and decided to place it at the stall. The second order came out quick too. I wanted a cup of ice. I had to throw the ice away because there were pieces of unions in it. The plus was that the second attendant was a very pleasant young man. He was kind and made me feel appreciated. Maybe the young lady was having a bad day. We are all human. I would still come back because it's not often that the experience is negative and the second server, the guy, made up for the lack of attention. I ordered from the app and went to check in. The number didn't work. I drove to a different stall and the screen was broken so I pushed the button to try to in. After a bit someone came on the speaker and mumbled something. I couldn't hear her so I went to a different one that had a number and checked in. We waited and the screen kept saying in the kitchen. By this point we had been waiting well after the time it said it would be ready. I got out of the car and went to the door to see what was taking so long (about 40 minutes) and the girl said to go to the drive through. That she said she told us things were broken when she didn't. There was another customer there who had also been waiting 40 minutes and had no communication at all. Since the manager wouldn't help at the door and said to go to the drive thru, I went to the drive thru and waited. I got to the speaker and gave my name and they said pull up to the window. When I got to the window after waiting quite awhile longer they told me they didn't have the slush and we could get a soda. I said at this point just refund me for the slush since we didn't want a soda. They refused and said they'd have to refund the whole order. So I said ok do that. Then they made us wait while they went to fully refund. Then they came back and said they couldn't do that refund either. They were very rude. When I asked why they couldn't refund they said that I would be robbing them. They didn't give me my order or my money back. Also I waited all that time and got nothing. There were no signs anywhere that anything was broken. They didnt even tell us when we were waiting at the stall just mumbled something. There were people everywhere waiting in stalls with no attempt by the employees to prevent customers from waiting unnecessarily. It is beyond ridiculous that we waited an hour for no reason whatsoever when some simple things could have prevented it. Like a sign. Or telling people on the speakers. Then refusing a refund and saying we would be robbing them is even worse. I still have not received a refund. read more

I will only return for drinks because every time I try the food I'm sadly disappointed but their drinks are elite! Adding the vanilla flavoring to different sodas and of course the slushes are my personal favorite. We called to check if it had gone through and they said if it didnt go through, they'd come to our car with our food when it was ready and we could pay then. 20 minutes later, still nothing. Stopped by for a treat in my way back to hotel. Location is convenient as it's right near a few hotels and on a populated road. There aren't a lot of people when I stoped in, maybe 3-4 cars in the carhops and only 1 ahead of me in line. The service was a little slow as the person ahead of me had their door opened and it was unclear if they were just chatty or if there was an issue with their order but they were there for a while. When I pulled up my order was pretty quick and I was on my way. Ice cream was tasty and had plenty of mix ins in my sonic blast of choice. Overall, pretty standard for what you would expect from a sonic at any location you visit. read more

Horrible customer service! I went through the drive through yesterday and the drive through employee didn't make any eye contact, she handed me my food and I said thank you and she replied "yeah" in a rude tone and turned her back to me. she clearly didn't want to be there and it showed. I didn't think much of it and considered that maybe she had a bad day. However, today I went through the drive through again and it was the same employee and when I asked for mustard packets for my hot dog she appeared annoyed and when she handed me the mustard packets a few mustard packets fell to the ground an before I could ask for more mustard she quickly shut the drive through window and refused to open it. I called to speak with the manager and the woman who answered the phone stated that her name is Elizabeth and that she is the manager and also the employee that had been at the drive through and that there are no other managers that I could speak with. I informed her that the customer service was bad and that the employee at the drive through which was apparently herself was rude and she stated "well it's because we're busy I got to get back to work " and then she hung up the phone on me.
