For the last four years I have been going to the Wienerschnitzel which is located at 20652 Lake Forest Dr. in Lake Forest. The food there is always great, whether its a Hotdog or Hamburger, but lets focus upon my very favorite, which is the Hotdog. What I like about this Wienerschnitzel is that you can request a variety of Hotdogs, even if its something that's not on the menu as long as its not complicated, meaning outlandish. I totally love the Chicago Dogs myself, the place is always clean and the service is excellent, during the past four years I have never been disappointed with their food. I saw a review here saying you should check your receipts when you order. I ordered via drive thru, checked receipts and everything was there. Couple miles down the road, opened the kraut dog, and voila!, kraut was nowhere to be seen. Im giving a 2 stars just because they had everything in there (it was a $27 order) except for the kraut. I know, someone will tell me that i could've gone back. But if you are already on 5, i dont think you will make a u turn and spend all that gas for the missing kraut, which was supposed to be there in the first place. read more

New owners took over, and the food went way downhill. I ordered two chili cheese dogs and a chili cheese fry, my bill was over $10. They raised the prices! The chili cheese fries are horrible. They used old and very undercooked cold fries. The buns were hard on the ends and the hotdogs themselves tasted like bargain dogs you pick up at grocery store. So sad! I am a long time resident of the area and over the years would stop in for a quick hot dog fix. Over the last few year the quality and service wasn't the best and needed improvement. Recently I popped in for a bite and was greeted by a young man who clearly cared about the food quality as well as service. He was pleasant and engaging. The food was better than ever and to my surprise, hot fresh French fries! I have been back several times and had the same wonderful service and yes HOT fries. Went here yesterday to get some dinner after hanging out with some friends. I got a codrn dog, the chili cheese fries, and the junkyard hot dog. The service was excellent but I was rather disappointed with the quality of the chili cheese fries and the junkyard dog. The chili cheese fries were very greasy and the whole thing was in a semi-congealed state in my box. I tasted ok, but I don't think I will be ordering it again. Again with the junkyard dog I was disappointed. The fries, chili, and onion were oddly colored and looked like they had been sitting out for a while. After a really hard day, my friend and I stopped at this Wienerschnitzel for some ice cream. The guy that waited on his was so welcoming and friendly that we soon were all laughing and in a much better mood than when we came in! He made us feel like we were family! We found out that he does fund raisers to help people and has a heart of gold. Turned out HE is the owner!! What a surprise to find that out - we just thought he was a really great employee. I sat down to eat with a friend, and as we were eating, a young man came up to us to check in on how we were doing. 10 minutes later, we're having great conversation, and we come to find out that the young man, Kasem, is actually the owner of the location.
