A great spot in basalt for some classic German food! The food was great but I do agree with others on the service level. It definitely was a long dinner due to the service being very slow.

On our way from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, this was the perfect spot right off the highway. We grabbed a spot at the bar when the place was pretty empty around 5:30 but the place was completely full by 6:30 on a Saturday. We were shocked they only had 2 employees taking care of the entire dining room and bar but they were doing a great job but never stopped moving! I started with the Sausage Plate Sampler as an appetizer because I wanted/needed to try it! It comes with 3 types of sausage, mustard, potato salad, and sauerkraut and it's all homemade. The potato salad was some of the best I've ever had. I loved the jalapeño sausage and Guinness sausage the best which both had very unique and deep flavors. For my meal, I had the Weiner Schnitzel, which was fantastic. This included a huge pile of mashed potato's and a berry sauce thing (not sure what it's called). I loved the berries for dipping the pork in but you don't get very much of it. Overall, everything was fantastic and the atmosphere truly brought you to Europe. The music, huge beers, great food, and friendly staff were all great. This will be a new favorite for us.

This is such a great spot. They do everything right. Ok. They're almost always busy. But in this department they' can still win people over. Like they did with us. They're honest. When we dropped in they were upfront with us and told us that there is a long wait. Short staffed. They're hiring btw. He's right. We waited for our food for about an hour. It didn't feel like it though. The place is alive! The people including the customers are friendly! Big crush on this find. This is a genuine Austrian/German restaurant with a very active bar and food scene. The food is delicious! The scene amazing. They have a great looking patio too. First we dropped in for their beer and dinner. Stay tuned for photos of more food beyond dinner. Beer in one liter and two waiting for you! Lol!

Beautiful place with great vibe and friendly service, and beer and cocktail selection - food in general very salty - my favorite: Jaeger Schnitzel (pork loin with mushroom and sauce on top) and goulash

Solid food, friendly servers, but kind of slow service. They were busy on a Sat afternoon and it took almost 25 mins for someone to get our orders. Large portions for reasonable cost. Located in the Willits shopping center, so east access to other businesses.

Great food. The staff is by far the best in the valley. True professionals. Can't say enough about the beer.

It was a quiet evening and it took a little bit for the order to come. I figured there was probably 1 chef working. Salmon tartare was a bit salty. I would suggest a little less salt since the olive and smoke salmon were already seasoned. The server was very attentive and friendly. The rest of the meal was pretty decent. This place seems like a good place a grab beer and some snack with friends.

Wienerstube is a unique find in Basalt. With hearty portions of Austrian food paired with a beer stein, you might forget that you are in Willits Town Center. One side of the wall is beautifully covered with a map of Europe, and that is either your cue to be transported away or a reminder that you are still in Basalt. Regardless of where you think you are, make sure you come hungry and prepared for a rich and hearty meal. I have dined here for dinner twice and have tried a few different things on the menu. The pretzel does not sound exciting, but the beer-cheddar crispy bacon dip is addicting. The sausage sampler or bruschetta are a good way to try all of the sausages. The crushed potatoes are simple but delicious and extremely filling. You cannot go wrong with the schnitzel since it is a classic dish. Try the jager schnitzel if you want something richer and with more sauce, and try the jager goulash if you want something different. The jager goulash is a super rich meat stew, and it hardly has a gamey taste. Everything is really good, but the chicken schnitzel is probably my favorite since it is something you can always eat regardless of what mood you are in. No meal is complete without some beer though, and the menu has a lot of European beers that will not find elsewhere in the area. The staff is super nice and friendly. The service can be a little slow, but the staff is very attentive when they are with you. The prices are what you should expect for a nicer restaurant. Wienerstube is a great spot to try something different, and it is a spot that I will keep coming back to.

We ordered drinks, kids food, and an appetizer. The drinks and a pretzel came but the other appetizer and kids' food never arrived. We asked for a status on the kids food and ordered our entree. A few minutes later, an order came to our table which wasn't ours (2/3 items were different) so we told them. A few minutes after that, a corrected food order came out, but was still missing the first appetizer and my daughter's food arrived cold. The appetizer finally arrived after we finished our meal and were no longer hungry. When our bill came, we were charged for drinks we didn't order and asked for the bill to be corrected. We waited a long time, the server didn't seem to know how to make the correction. About the time, the manager came by and asked about our experience. We provided her with feedback on the unfortunate service during our meal. They ended up comping us 2 drink. We paid well over $200 for a very disappointing experience. The food was ok.

As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.
