Brought my future parents in law out to Sprazzo and couldn't have been more impressed. Loved the homemade pasta! The focaccia starter is a must-order. The carbonara was perfectly balanced rich, creamy, and salty! We came with a larger group and ordered a bunch of plates family-style, which was definitely the way to do it. The wine list was excellent, and I loved that they also carried a watermelon pilsner from Beerwerks right down the street. We tried the zucchini blossoms, lamb meatballs, Verdi salad, Pollo Toscano, and a few pastas. The Spaghetti alla Nerano was easily my favorite pasta, simple but ridiculously good. The standout of the entire meal, though, was the Cotoletta alla Milanese. Crispy veal, lemon butter, capers, and lingonberry jam. Lingonberry is criminally underrated in the jam world, and it worked perfectly here. We also happened to go on a night when gnocchi was the special, and it was hands down the best gnocchi I've ever had. Would absolutely come back. read more

Exactly what we needed after our last day skiing at Snowmass. From the host and hostess being very gracious despite our not having a reservation to the amazing food, service and ambience, everything was perfect. We walked in on a recommendation without a reservation. Hostess checked for a table and told us they could maybe seat us in fifteen minutes if that was okay with us. We accepted and she told us she could seat us in a waiting area and check out the menu. And that we did. About 20 minutes later, we were taken to our table. We had already decided on everything we were going to order, as we had a long active day on the slopes, so our server took our order. I'm sorry to say I forgot the servers name. She was great and super friendly. We ordered the Lamb Meatballs as an appetizer along with a couple of tastes of a Pilsner and an ale on the menu. We ordered our entrees ~ our 9-year-old grandson ordered the swordfish, my husband ordered the veal cutlet, and I ordered the cacio e pepe. Then we decided to add some focaccia as an appetizer. Glad we did. The focaccia came out first and was served with two small ramekins ~ one of olive oil and the other of stracchino cheese in balsamic vinegar. OMG - the focaccia was crunchy and perfectly spiced on top with lots of fluffy little air pockets. Heavenly. Then the lamb meatballs were served nice and hot with a nice piece of grilled bread. They were perfectly juicy and topped with a touch of pesto and melted cheese. Also amazing. After we scarfed them down, it was only a few minutes until we were served our entrees. The swordfish was very good. It was served surrounded by samoriglio (zesty loose-pesto-type sauce made with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, salt & herbs) and giardineria (small mounds of pickled veg). The cacio e pepe was out of this world ~ can't even describe how good it was. But the best dish was definitely the "Cotoletta alla Milanese'' a crispy veal cutlet, with capers, lemon butter sauce, lingonberry jam on the side. We all tasted each other's dishes. I preferred the veal without the lingonberry jam as I felt the flavor of the veal got a little bit lost, but it was good with the jam as well. We ate heartily and enjoyed every bite. Since we were on vacation, we opted to have dessert. Grandson ordered the special which was a chocolate mousse with salted caramel sauce & chocolate shavings & a couple of sticks of shaved chocolate. Great food! Hit ir miss service. Went here on a date night with my husband and loved the food and drinks! We got the focaccia, vodka pasta, and eggplant Parmesan. Everything was summer delicious! Definitely on the lighter tasting side vs traditional heavier versions of the food, which we loved. Also got the aperol spritz and limoncello spritz. Both delicious! My only hesitation on 5 stars was the service. Our server, Christopher, seemed very distracted like he always had somewhere else to be instead of present with us. When I went to ask him questions about the menu after he took our drink order, he politely rushed off. He gave great recommendations but I didn't feel like we were important enough to get his full attention. That said, he did get our tab asap when we needed to rush off for our child with the sitter; and the hostess was lovely. read more

Had to beg for it. 3 different people served us and they were ALL bad. 3rd time I went there. Same results. NEVER again for marginal food. Much to my surprise this place has been open since January and look at me not making it until May! But I guess good things come to those who wait. This food very good the service very good outside patio. Awesome not a ton of indoor seating but the outside solid. I went with one other person which was to my own detriment bless his heart because I would've ordered everything on the menu. I did go with a non-drinker, but I had a lot of good hopeful tips from the staff about which wine again she was super chill and had a great vibe like everyone else I met there. Given that we live in a landlocked state, the scallops were fire. If you go, and you don't have the focaccia, you're insane. The focaccia was amazing. You have to order it with the burata or else you're doing yourself a disservice. 10/10 recommended for all and any occasion . please pardon any spelling errors or sentences that make zero sense. Not a fan. The ambiance is the only thing this place has going for it. Our waitress was in training and honestly she did fine. Unfortunately, most of the menu is in Italian. Neither of us knew what most of these dishes were, but she knew I was hungry. The training waiter told us the kitchen was backed up so it could be a while. We were never offered bread or anything else as a consolation. For the record, bread w/ olive oil and balsamic vinegar is an extra $10 for an appetizer. None of our entree's came with anything (not even a side salad). I was the only one from our group who ordered a large plate (eggplant parmesan or whatever that is in Italian). My wife and son both had a normal plate. Their portions were small. Mine was adequate, but not even hot so I asked for it to be warmed up. I tried to order a glass of wine (something like a cav or merlot), but wasn't willing to pay $15+ a glass. My plate came back out warmer, but still had cold spots in the middle. To be honest, none of our dishes were anything better than we've made at home. We were charged for six beers when we had four. They fixed the check and were charged for three beers in total (not sure if the free beer was intentional or not). At the end of the day the food and experience was just "okay". I have a hard time dropping $35+ a plate on okay food especially when we still walk away hungry. I rarely, if ever, leave negative reviews. We truly wanted this dinner to be special, but it didn't live up to the expectations set by their cost. This place has a lot to improve on. read more

My boyfriend and I went opening week and it was pretty good. We started off with the zucchini blossoms and they were amazing. The ambiance is good and the restaurant is beautiful and historic. My boyfriend had the rigatoni and I had the cacio e pepe. Mine was almost flavorless but my boyfriend's rigatoni was spot on. Ricotta cheese seems to be the main star in mostly every dish so if you don't like ricotta you wouldn't enjoy this menu. The second time we went we started off with the burrata with beets and strawberries. It was so good. My boyfriend ordered the rigatoni again. I was astonished at how much the recipe changed but it was still very good. I had the gnocchi special which was sautéed in onions and leeks. It was just ok, nothing special. The service was fantastic both times. I hope they can continue serving good food and perfect their menu. read more

Really wanted to like this place...the vibe from the staff was not the Carbondale I'm used to. I Stopped in for a beer was greeted by a guy at the front that gave me the sense that our presence is more of an inconvenience rather than appreciated or maybe he didn't like our hiking clothes. We sat at the bar and ordered mountain heart beers and the bartender definitely gave us a hazy IPA instead. Ordered the oysters which were pretty good BUT the service definitely made it uncomfortable to even enjoy. Will happily report that I will never be going here ever again. read more

We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner for 35 on Sprazzos small patio and the welcome party after the dinner for 120 people with drinks and appetizers on Friday evening. There was ample room for everyone and all enjoyed being outside. There was a larger patio with tables and a yard area and 2 bars setup, one for cocktails and one for wine. The service was outstanding and the food was exceptional. Their chef is amazing. The gelato cart that Sprazzo provided was a hit. Overall fairly good. It didn't get off to a good start when we sat at our table and didn't see our waiter for 20 plus mins - no water, no drink order, nothing. We finally flagged down someone to take our drink order, but it took a good while to arrive. The food was fairly good and the service improved over time. We were looking for our favorite Italian restaurant in Carbondale but it closed. We tried Sprazzo. So disappointed. Our server, though, was exceptional but the food average at best. The caeser salad was a pile of giant leaves of romaine with a bit of dressing. We could not taste egg or anchovies at all. Terrible For around $18. Probably one of the worst "Italian" restaurants we've ever eaten at. Service was bad, the food was horrible, and it's way overpriced! The pasta dish was reminiscent of Chef Boyardee in a can, and the meatballs tasted funny.
