Communication was good, I got a text reminder and an email for my appointment. The technician texted when he was on his way and arrived with a partner to do the service. They found my blower capacitor was running at about half power and replaced it for a fee after having me approve it. They are straightforward, respectful, and clean. No complaints at all about the techs or their work. All in, these guys are great overall. Their techs are great, the communication is great, and the heat runs like new. I will be going back to them time and again.

I set up an appointment with this company for my shop units. I was use to going to Stop Heating &…read moreCooling and was told they had bought them out. I explained that I had an air conditioner/hearting unit that needed help. I explained that the unit was smelling of vinegar and moldy smell. I explained that the unit was cooling but that it was extremely hot to the touch outside. I was told that it was most likely a valve that was plugged and that they could come out and fix that and clean the unit. I set up my appointment for 3:00. The next day I called and asked if I could have both units cleaned so I would be set for winter. I again explained that these were hear and air units AND gave them the name of the unit I had in my shop. I was told they could do that. They did ask if they could back the appointment up to 1:30 and I agreed. On that day I get a call at 11:50 that Mr. Michael Gaughan is on their way. I race over there and open up my shop. I am waiting for 20 minutes so I call to make sure they did not come early and leave. The person on the phone tells me they are still on their way. Ten minutes later I get a call from Mr. Gaughan from his vehicle asking me if I am there even though he parked right in front of the shop and could clearly see me inside the building. He walked in and I proceeded to show him where the units where and what was happening. He cut off my sentence by wanting to see where they were in back. We walked around the building and he looks at the one unit and asks me if the unit is working and I said yes, but it is running really hot. I told him that the company thought it was something plugged. He then asks me if water comes out of the unit. I said I did not know for sure because se there has been no water coming out of it. He then asks me why I would think water would be coming out and I said because the condensation has to go somewhere and its clearly standing water inside. He then asks me where the water is. And I have no idea what he is talking about. And he said well the water to hook up a hose. And I said, we do not have water back here. It is in front of the building. Is this so you can clean the unit or what because your company never said anything about this. So he then starts walking the opposite way of where we came in. Not to look at the other unit but just walks away from me. I ask him what he is doing and that there are no water outlets over there. He proceeds to tell me that he is nosy and he just likes to nose around and see what's going on. I tell him that where the trash is and it's easier to get back the way we came. On the way back I show him where the water hoses are and he complains that his hose may not go back that far. Back in the shop, he then turns to me and asks me what he wants me to do? Does he want me to take the unit out? Does he want me to take all the insulation out? How the heck do I know? I called his company and they told me they would clean the unit and fix the draining issue. They never asked me any questions. So finally I ask him if he has ever seen a unit like this. And he tells me he only works on big units and split units. I ask him if he knows what to do because if he is not comfortable doing this I cannot afford to have him mess it up and need a new unit. And he still has never even looked at the other unit. So then He starts complaining about how he would have to do this and I have now lost confidence in this guy. So I call his company back and tell them that this guy is not sure how to proceed and could you talk to him. I am now in business mode voice stating that I told you everything when I made the appointment and now I have someone who I am worried is going to screw things up worse. So I give Mr. Gaughan my phone and they discuss it. He hands the phone back to me and the they tell me that he knows what to do and it will be okay. I again reiterate that if he does not feel confident doing this I cannot afford to buy another AC. So I get off the phone and say you are good to go. But by that time Mr. Gaughan has developed an attitude. He takes two steps and gives me the stink eye. Takes two more steps and gives me the stink eye. He then takes out the filter to the AC which is clean and then shoves it back into the unit. He tries to pull the front plate off of the unit and cannot and clearly does not know what he is doing. I then say to him; I do not understand what is the attitude here. Look, if I am not confident in my job, I let the client know so they do not walk out unhappy. Do you feel comfortable in what you are doing? He turns to me glaring. I am looking back at me and he starts walking past the door and takes two steps and says angrily Competent and then walks some more and says competent. And I say back to him, I have no idea what is going on here or what you mean by this. He then walks around his truck and stands there doing nothing and then he walks over to the other side

I realize he did not put my AC in, but I still feel the duct work wasn't up to par. He told me to contact AC installer. I called installer and he would tell me to call duct installer. That was last year. so this year 90 outside 88 inside living room area. I had Duane put in one more duct recently to see if that would help, but again he referred me back to installer. Anyway a few days ago I called him and he said he would have to send someone out. He said that I should be calling installer of AC, but I just wanted him to verify that HIS employee did the work correctly. he told me he couldn't deal with it now that it was 90 out and hung up on me. I text hIm to let him know how unprofessional it was to hang up on me and I was not asking him to run right over. he told me he's commercial, which I didn't know and made me wonder why he helped me in the first place? Then he told me what he charged wouldn't even pay his lot rent. what? I never once asked for a discount. I thought what he charged was what going rate was. i didn't know. I had a 3rd opinion come in and vuala , it's fixed and turns out didn't need the ducts he put in the first place. I wish I would have known and look to a professional for advice and was provided bad advice. The 3rd party HVAC Co also slowed the blower and they knew as soon as walking in my door within 30 seconds something was wrong. It's all fixed now no thanks to Hayden. Been a year of one big mess solved. Thanks to One Hour Heating and Cooling. Duane gets bad review for Hanging up and bad advice.

Too many missed steps and I have decided to find a new HVAC contractor. My furnace stopped working a few weeks ago. A tech was sent out to determine the cause and provide next steps. All she said to my wife was the unit was 31 years old and needed replacing: no explanation of the actual problem. I called another contractor and he explained the problem in detail and provided us with a clear plan of action. He also pointed out that the unit was emitting CO - this was not caught by KH&C. I have worked with KH&C for a few years and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I signed a quote for a new furnace to be installed. Installers came and rushed through the install as they "had a busy schedule" according to them. They tried to leave without testing the Aprilaire albeit I was assured they would prior to the install. I called the office and they sent the estimator out to look at it. He provided quotes for repair or replacement. We opted to replace and the same installer came out to do the work a few days later. Once again, rushed through the install and left hurriedly. It is at this time that I wondered if I had made a mistake to hire them. Six weeks passed, turned on the AC and I had puddles near the furnace. I called into the dispatcher and thoroughly explained the issue. She uttered the words "Warranty Labor" and led me to believe this call would be covered. Two young techs come out, they went through the unit carefully and determined "sludge" from the AC plugged the line inside the furnace causing the water issue. They cleaned the lines and then the Service Manager (Alex) charged me $75. I provided the back story of the install and asked him to reconsider waiving. He said no and I asked if he would be comfortable to lose a customer for $75? He said "Yes". I paid the $75 and thanked the techs for their work. And today will be the last time KH&C will darken my doorstep.

So, not loving this place. When I initially scheduled an appointment to get a quote on installing…read morean air conditioning unit, we had some miscommunication. This business thought that if they sent me an email reminder about the appointment for the next day, even though I had the appointment scheduled in my calendar for weeks, that it was incumbent upon me to press a "Confirm" button at the bottom of the email for them to actually show up. I thought we were all professionals who scheduled a day and time, we would all plan around that day and time accordingly. Apparently, I was mistaken. They go into the business arrangement assuming that I'm some sort of flake, so they give me extra work to have to "confirm" that I still want them to come, in order for them to actually come. So, we eventually reschedule. They install the air conditioner. It definitely works, but only really for the ground floor. My husband and I put up with the overheated upstairs for weeks, but eventually my husband can't take it anymore. He calls them up and asks for them to take a look at it. My husband was very upset afterward. The technician just verbally shared something about how the vents upstairs suck in air rather than blow air out. My husband was under the impression that this was going to be a free visit because of the warranty on the AC unit that was just installed. But, no. He was charged more than a hundred dollars when all they did was say a few words to him, but they didn't actually fix anything. Communication is poor. Professionalism is low.

Mr. Duct sent Miguel out to clean our ducts. He did a great job. For those looking at duct cleaning…read moreservices, you should look for National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) certified shops. You should also shop around because some places offer bonus services that you may or may not need, or may even be hazardous to the occupants of the home, like sealants or chemicals. Check the EPA page on "Should You Have the Air Ducts in Your Home Cleaned?" for a thorough treatment of the topic, though note that it's much less enthusiastic about duct cleaning than people's subjective experiences, especially people with allergies or sensitivities, or if you've just done a remodel. I'd refer to "Is it worth it to get your air ducts cleaned?" on r/homeowners and "Is air duct cleaning a scam?" on r/hvacadvice. With that out of the way, Miguel cleaned our ducts quite thoroughly. He inserted the vacuum to the air handling unit. This would provide the negative pressure to ensure most of the dust and debris would go to the vacuum. Then he use a air compressor to knock loose the dust at each register and as far into the ventilation as he could push the nozzle. My registers unfortunately went up towards the attic, so dust was guaranteed to get knocked loose into the room, so we had to vacuum. This would have gone smoother if Mr. Duct had sent a partner with Miguel. Miguel was also very helpful in airdropping the photos of the ducts to my phone, which was important because we were trying to identify what might be triggering allergic reactions. For roughly $300, it was very reasonable. I would recommend Mr. Duct to those who need duct cleaning services.

Price was good, I would hire them again but not have the same gentleman do the project.
