Finding Wigglewag and Nes has been the BEST thing to happen to us this year. We have tried multiple trainers and different training methods with our now 10 month old pup, Pablo. We adopted him 6 months ago and although we'd done hours and hours of research on puppies, we quickly realized we were way in over our heads with our dog. The Wigglewag team continuously goes above and beyond to help us learn what Pablo needs from us. Nes really cares about and knows dogs -- he gets in their heads in a way I've never seen before. After searching for a few months we found Nes & the WiggleWag team. This has been an amazingly positive experience. My 2yr old French Bulldog began to exhibit aggression & guarding to other dogs and some people. We frequently took him on trips and to public places and he became a nightmare. We started with 3 week boot camp to get him through the initial, hard love, no co-sleeping, using a crate, etc. It was hard to believe that simple things like adjusting where the dog is sleeping and learning how to show authority in everyday activities will really change their behavior in a positive way. We have gone through a variety of different training tool and Nes ensures you know how to use a tool with one on one sessions if you prefer that option. Since then we attend daycare weekly to continue to develop better social skills and less anxiety around other dogs. I cannot say how grateful I am to Nes. Bringing our pup Valentina to Wigglewag was a well worth investment! Being first-time dog owners of a high-energy, but nervous rescue, we knew we needed help with correcting unwanted behaviors as well as learning more about dog psychology and improving our relationship with V. We brought her in for the 3 week boarding & training where Nestor and his team worked with V to help her with her nervous behavior, socialize with other dogs and people and there has been so much improvement. We would get constant updates on how she was doing, behaviors the team was noticing and tips for how to address things when she came home. Every dog is unique and we understood that the work would continue even after her stay. During the time she was away, we had to do our own work and research (with Wigglewag's help) to prep for her return with new routines, boundaries, and adjustments. It's a work in progress, but Nestor gave us the tools to help give V a more balanced life and both he and Cynthia have been so supportive and encouraging. V is much happier; we're still working on practicing calm behavior, but she's learning and doing better each day. We started bringing her to daycare twice per week as a way to maintain good habits and continue socializing her with other dogs that are also establishing good behaviors. I personally appreciate how lead trainers Mailynn and Mike have bonded with V and how they take the time to give me a quick summary of how their sessions with her go. It has been a great experience working with this group of people, especially during this time of high-stress and social distancing, which can absolutely have an impact on our pets. Don't waste your time coming here if you need a place to take care of your dog while out on a quick business trip or vacation... unless you're one of their regulars that send their dogs weekly for their training. They will turn you away with the excuse that you need to sign up for their weekly training courses before they even consider taking care of your dog (regardless of your dog's shots being up to date, or tour around the facility to see check your dog's temperament as it relates to the other dogs at the facility). Mind you... this also increases your cost by a couple hundred $$$ as opposed to the daily fee for just daycare (extremely inconvenient if you need them to watch your dog for no longer than a day or two). I initially became a client of theirs back in 2012 after getting my dog and used them regularly. They developed a great relationship with my dog throughout that time. Overtime I didn't require their services any longer up until recently. When I returned to ask if they could take care of my dog... they refused to do so if I didn't sign him up for their weekly training class (which increases what I expected to be $60 for daycare to over $200 with everything). Nestor acted like they didn't even know my dog or that he used to be a regular. It's clear that their only motive now is to take your money. A better alternative is Eco Dog Wash and Day Care Services (if you live in the LA area). They're located on Pico and Genessee. There is no up-selling here and they treat your dog like it was their own. read more

My dog Ziggy thinks of Wigglewag as his second home. I realize now after sending Ziggy there for almost a year that a lot of professionalism, training, talent, and love is required in oder to create such an environment for dogs of all sizes and maturity. Ziggy gets support to interact positively with large dogs (he is small) and dogs of different energy. He has learned to walk in a pack which has made my walking life soooooo much better. While I appreciate the flexibility and responsiveness of the owner to my feedback, I chose to decline because I am not comfortable with my dog being left in a car unattended for any period of time. ASPCA indicates that it only takes 10 minutes for a car to reach 102 degrees and 30 minutes for a car to reach 120 degrees on an 85 degree day. Our dog Bowie has *issues*. He plays in the special needs section at the dog park because he is so fearful. He has a phobia of taking walks. No joke. I had already been talking with Cynthia about working with him on some aggressive behavior when we found ourselves in need of dog walking/pet sitting for a weekend. Wow, they really put the "care" in dog daycare. My dog needed care on an irregular basis, not everyday, and Nes and Cynthia easily accommodated our schedules. The entire staff not only watches our miniature schnauzer, but walks him appropriately according to his training, temperament, and ability. Boson (my dog) gets regular exercise outdoors and indoors on the treadmill, and gets handled with real care. Past all that: A dog in the house is a special needs family member, and when they are not well-trained, as Boson was, they may be still lovable but are at times a burden: barking at guests, jumping on furniture, tearing the mail to shreds, chasing the cat. From the very first day with Nes and Cynthia, Boson has been better behaved at home, and we got their training to make us better dog owners. Our walks with Bo are easier now, he stays in his bed instead of running around, the cat is infinitely happier, and our guests are no longer hesitant to come over. To all dog owners This place is the best! My dog is a member of my family. I take her every where with me if I can. But when I had to travel back east, I started to look around for some place good for her. LA is the king when it comes to pampered pets so I assumed there would be a safe clean place for her for five days. SO many dog hotels to choose from, but they all were in industrial buildings with that horrible antiseptic smell that reminds my dog of the vet. And In LA, VERY FEW had access to outdoor areas for the dogs to run and play...wow Cynthia and Nes have transformed their own home into DOG HEAVEN. The house has a huge back yard and a penned in area to hang out in. They both interact with the dogs and take them on frequent walks. The best part is my dog is older and not so social. She doesn't like to rough house with the other dogs. SO Cynthia and Nes let her hang out upstairs in another room so she could sleep and not be trampled on. Every time I picked her up or dropped her off, all the other dogs are playing inside the house like it was CAMP FOR KIDS...SO GREAT...This is NOT to imply there is no discipline... both Cynthia and Nestor are professional and experienced dog handlers. Dogs are happy but in hand. All dog issues are taken into account. Again, my dog got special treatment....way cool. They are not expensive, and they are the best!! I can't recomend this place enough. It's been about a year since I wrote my first review on Wigglewag so I thought I'd write an update. We now have two dogs. The new one is only a year old - we got him from the SPCA and he is very timid, unlike our min-pin who is a total freak. Nes, Cynthia, and the rest of the Wigglewag team have done wonders with both dogs. They come home tired and happy. Most importantly, when I drop them off in the mornings, their little heads are ready to explode with excitement! They can't wait to get in the door, which is a very good sign. Wigglewag are so good that I had to (finally) sign up for a Yelp account to write about them! Nes and Cynthia are absolutely lifesavers. When I got a job in Pasadena and my husband and I decided to move to the area, I was actually most nervous about our Border Collie, Shep. Shep is high-energy, to say the least, and had been going to another doggie daycare every day out in Ventura County, where we previously lived. Having to uproot him and find another daycare with new people and dogs was incredibly nerve-wracking. We did take Shep to "interview" at a different doggie daycare in Pasadena, but we saw pretty much right off the bat that it wouldn't be the place for him. The dogs looked bored and the people were a little snobby. We knew that Shep needed a place that would let him get out his excess energy and work his mind. After reading the reviews on Yelp, we had a great feeling about Wigglewag...and boy, were we right! I'll try to keep this brief as I could go on and on with a recommendation for Nestor. I've had one dog for 8 years and then a second dog for 2 years. I'm super involved with them, I exercise them daily, take them everywhere, etc. I've wanted to do the right thing from the start with their training and behavior and I really thought I could Google my way to perfect dogs but it definitely doesn't work like that. I didn't know that I needed a professional until I sent my big dog to Nestor for some daycare and saw a significant and positive change in his behavior after just a few weeks. I was so pleased with the results that I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and ask Nestor for some help and training for my second dog who's slowly become dog-to-dog-aggressive. To my surprise, Nestor was fully on board with the task and he was so extremely helpful in not only interpreting my dogs behavior to me but also interpreting what my behavior says to my dog. Over the course of 3 sessions (2 that were 1-on-1, and then one with dog introductions) my outlook and my strategy for her rehabilitation has totally changed. I've since followed all of his advice and doing so has taken my relationship with my dog to a whole new amazing level. I just can't thank or recommend Nestor and his team enough. He knows what he's doing; he's seen so many types of dogs and dog behaviors that he can objectively help you with training yours so that you can have the most harmonious and loving relationship possible with your four legged best friend. If your dog had thumbs... you'd already have an appointment booked with Nestor. I've never reviewed anything on yelp, but I write this for two reasons: 1. Nes and the crew have earned and deserve my utmost praise and gratitude. I have been to other dog care training facilities in the area, Wigglewag is second to none. Look no further... no matter your K9 issue... Wigglewag = the solution! 2. I read the other reviews, and of course they are accurate and positive... but I felt like sharing my experience might help to demonstrate that Nestor has a lot more than just a great daycare place, Wigglewag is a unique facility... where a dog can learn to be a confident obedient dog... and you can learn to be an attentive, more thoughtful owner. In August of 2017 I rescued... errrr, I was rescued by an 8 mo Bulloxer. The love was instant, but the reality was overwhelming. A breed of this size and strength requires serious attention, because just excitement can lead to issues. Chewin', shreddin', lickin', pullin', pumpin', jumpin', humpin'... his energy level was really somethin'. Overly friendly and unabashed he was running amok with almost every encounter, human and K9, especially with kids. We had even paid for, and graduated an obedience course in the area... but obedience wasn't addressing the issue. We reached the point where abandoning the rescue was a serious consideration. I knew there was a great dog in there somewhere, but I was clearly ill-equipped to facilitate that change. Word of mouth brought me to Wigglewag, and what a blessing that has turned out to be. In January of 2018 we met with Nestor for the first time. I was skeptical given past experience with other places, but open to making the best of the situation. Right away I could tell that Nestor was different... special. When first meeting my dog, without words, Nes got instant results. He said to me: "If you leave your dog with me, I know he will learn, he's a great dog." He didn't wave his fingers or anything, but like a damn Jedi that's what he said... that's what he is... a dog Jedi! It's like when something is wrong with your work computer, so you call I.T., but when the I.T. person arrives at your desk, you can't replicate the issue. Computers magically work when the I.T. person is standing there... dogs work when Nes is standing there He's the "I.T. Jedi guy" for your dog... still with me?! He saw what I saw... and knew how to get there. I know Nestor isn't magic, but he's close. I'm sure it's education and experience, but there's no doubt... he has a gift. We have been going to Wigglewag twice a week for the past five months and the transition in my dog has nothing short of miraculous. Someone had already given up on my pup... and with Wigglewag, I won't be doing the same. Underneath my Bulloxer's alpha boisterous exterior was insecurity, a lack in confidence and experience in approaching other animals and humans. Nestor taught me to pay attention to the signs, the visual clues that my dog was giving. The importance of being one step ahead of his energy level and surroundings. Intervening before his energy level reaches the danger zone. The routine, training, and exposure through Wigglewag provided a safe place for my pup to socialize, grow, and learn to be calm in high energy surroundings. I simply do not know where else this could have happened. People who knew my Bulloxer before and after do not believe it's the same dog! The experience has been invaluable. We have graduated to eCollar training, and are currently using Nestor's techniques at home. My relationship with my Bulloxer is a beautiful thing. The trust between us grows. Wiggle Wag is fantastic! They are so flexible and very easy to work with. And more importantly, they do a great job with the dogs! Otis loves going to visit Ness and Cynthia and comes home happy and tired every time. (And he is a 1 yr old Golden Retriever, so that is saying a lot!) OMG.......Before I had an (ONLY) 30 min session with Cynthia, who was an absolute pleasure to work with, my French Bull dog Jinky no longer pulls me and attacks other dogs AT ALL on our daily walks. She was literally the Miracle Worker for my hard headed frenchie and myself as well, she gave me a lot of insight to "Dogs Brains" and the way things work in the "Dog World" which I had no knowledge at all. Now that my dog realizes that I'm the "Queen Bitch" and not her she listens to me now and is totally magageable on her walks now, which before SHE WAS NOT AT ALL, I used to dread walking her because of her bad habits and behavior. I had mixed feeling about training my dog with a prong collar, BUT when used correctly is very useful to correct my dog and not harm her, I realized my dogs tolerance to pain is very low so it does not take much to correct her, pretty soon I will not need to use it. I no longer DREAD passing other dogs because I am able to correct Jinky's (my dog) behavior even before she gets all crazy and it has been working beautifully. We are not 100% but I think in time, other dogs will no longer set her off. I'm so excited and happy to walk my dog now because I can enjoy the walk and my dog as well. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Nes and Cynthia, an experience that has positively changed my life. Their ability to not only make a connection with the dogs they take care of but with those dogs' humans is inspiring. Having said that, I would like to address Ellen's comments about the dogs that were left in the truck for the extended period of time. It is an unfortunate misunderstanding for which I apologize. I understand the alarm she must have felt seeing the dogs panting and unattended. Ellen did not notice my colleague in the truck with the dogs while I was taking the dog at that address out on a 20 minute potty break. My priority as an employee of the company was to ensure the well being of all the dogs in our care at every moment. Our dog Sophie has been going to Wigglewag for 6 months and loves everyday she's there. Nes is very educated on dog behavior, his staff is always friendly and helpful and they are always sending pictures and updates of Sophie at daycare throughout the week. We just completed a packaged training program with Nes and after the first session noticed a huge difference in Sophie's behavior. She no longer pulls on the leash when we walk her, she respects us and our friends when we come in the door by not barking or jumping and all around a happier calmer dog. Cynthia and Nes are awesome!! We leave our high-energy border collie mix Austin with them when we go out of town. We know he gets lots of love, good exercise and play time with other dogs while we're away. They are also great with taking Austin for a walk if our lives get too hectic. Since Austin's pretty young (1 1/2 years) and still "in training", it also helps a lot that they reinforce good habits - he's usually better behaved after a stay with them than he was before. :-) read more
