Food was good service was HORRIBLE. The girl who made my salad kept wiping her nose with her hand and when she was chopping my salad up her and another girl were standing over my food talking while I'm watching them. There were about 4 other kids who work there who were hanging behind the counter talking and laughing loudly while I was ordering. The girl who took my order service was blah and lack luster. Wouldn't come here again because I'm big on customer service and the salad wasn't anything I couldn't make at home for me to waste my money on lack luster service. I also would prefer my food not to be made by a sick person when there were 4-5 other people available to prepare my food. Update: 11-2 so I wanted to give this place a second chance. Went to the same location and as soon as my coworker and I walked in we left we looked at the menu and looked into the kitchen to see the entire staff sitting on the counter tops on there phones. My coworker didn't want to eat at a spot where people felt ok to sit where they prepare food. So we left and went next door to the taco place swanky I think it's called and let me tell you they had great service and amazing food. It's a chipotle style place with a full bar. But I digress. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience @Wild Beet. It's a healthy eatery located in Germantown off Poplar. I was surprised out how busy this place was! Having never been before it wasn't what I expected. The staff was working quickly & efficiently. Even with a fairly long line of people, the line moved fast. Before I knew it I had my food in my hand & was ready to eat! When you walk in be sure to grab a food form to fill out. They have sandwiches, salads, & quesadillas as options. You pick your protein, veggies, fruit, crunches, or dressing. They have menu items, but you can also build your own. I built my own quesadilla. It was loaded with baked chicken, Black beans, corn, pico de Gallo, green peppers, w/ cheddar & pepper jack cheese. I also ordered a side of chipotle ranch & sour cream with it. Everything tasted so fresh. I was so pleased with how yummy my quesadilla turned out to be! This was a pleasant lunch experience. Wow I just wish this place had a drive thru! The choice of fresh and flavorful ingredients is outstanding. You can grab a paper checklist to mark what you want on your salad/sandwich/or wrap at the door. They do have set menu items as well that you can choose from. A very well rounded lunch or light dinner option. While I would normally balk at the salad prices, these ones are the size of three normal salads for me. If you get them to go and all the dressing on the side, this is two or three meals worth. The steak is not worth bothing with. Just get chicken or no meat at all. If you really don't want to be healthy - get the chicken parm wrap. IT IS CRAZY GOOD. Plus, here again, it's HUGE. I could barely eat half. Their tea is on point as well! read more

One of my favorite lunch spots! I typically get a salad off the menu - it gets pretty pricy to build your own. Beware - don't order more than one at a time or the employees will roll their eyes and start bad mouthing you. I really want to give this place five stars but they fell short because of a couple small factors: retail location - two spaces down from an already super busy Swanky's and time it takes to maneuver through the line (too long!). They really need to work on the logistics of getting people through the line a little faster. The freshness of the food is the star here. Words cannot tell you how awesome my Southwestern Salad was so you will just have to go try one for yourself. I'm a total freak when it comes to chopping up my salad before I consume it. I mean, it typically takes me a good 10 minutes to get it all chopped up. Guess what? They totally did it for me! It's what they do here for everyone. Who was super stoked? This girl!!! So, they not only offer salads but you could opt for a wrap instead. You can order one straight off the menu or go ahead and build your own. Either way I don't believe you will be disappointed. While recently in Dc, I indulged in a few amazing create your own salad places like this...so when I discovered one in Memphis, naturally I really want to love Lettuce Eats. While my salad was ok, it was sort of bland. I chose a salad that was crafted by them and went with the recommended dressing, so I can't say that it was my choices that resulted in the lack of flavor. The salad is huge, lots of greens, not enough toppings. Maybe in the future, I will only have them apply dressing to half of the salad and take the other half to go. As other reviews have stated, it's a little pricey. My salad here was a little more than it was in DC, even though I had less ingredients. Service was also slower, even with less customers. I'll attribute these things to the fact that this is a new business, they're still working through the kinks (for now). Overall, the simple decor is perfect for the concept and the concept is perfect for the city. We don't have enough fresh eats places that aren't chain in this area. I'll try this place again, but at $12 a salad I won't be a regular! read more

I don't know all the details of the nutritional values of the food here, but it seems more healthy than my normal meals. The salads are large enough for two servings. I always have a good solid salad here. The ingredients are fresh (you watch them put it together) and it's a good size portion. I love these guys because they chop the salad, mix in the dressing (geez, I AM lazy) and I can get my son to eat a salad here (and Cheffies), nowhere else. Excellent toppings and dressings. Never heard of a restaurant kicking people out in the middle of eating their meal because they're closing. I could understand if they close at 10p and we're still there eating but no, it was 6pm. They close at 6pm every night which is ridiculous in itself. We arrived 5:30, ordered 5:40, got our food 5:50. At 6p the employee came to tell us we had to leave. We asked if we could finish our salads and he reluctantly sort of agreed but at a few minutes after 6p he came and stood by our table glaring at us until we left. Honestly, I love this concept. I wish there are as many custom salad bars as pizza places in this town. I had the Thai Peanut Salad with added Tofu, and I love the ingredients, but not the Honey Peanut Butter Vinaigrette. Next time, I might try Ginger Soy. That said, I just don't see myself coming here often for the following 2 reasons. Reason 1: Competition If I spend over $10 on a salad at almost any other restaurant, I will likely get a pretty damn good salad. There are salad bars at Whole Foods and many Krogers, including the one across the street from here. And at Kroger, I can also buy a bag of Dole Salad Kits for less than half the price. Which leads to... Reason 2: Price Obviously, if there are customers willing to overpay, go ahead and overcharge. I'm just not the target audience. If this is your thing, here is your place. This place was packed for lunch. I was there between 12:30 and 1:15, and the chopping never stopped. So, obviously, there are people willing to pay for this. Obviously, I used "obviously" too many times here! Also the only beverages available here are canned sodas, peach tea, sweet tea, or unsweet tea, or water. I had the teas, and I highly recommend water! P.S. Seeing a salad prep guy chop the salad and sweating is kind of gross. Lettuce Eat is like Subway for Salad, except you check off your ingredients while you wait in line and then they make it for you. I've been to this place twice and I might just go for lunch today. Go Early! - If you're planning on going late in the day before they close, they might be out of ingredients (this happened when I strolled in 20 min before closing) The one gripe I have about this place is that it's a little slow. If they just picked up the efficiency a bit, then this place would be great! I've had a number of instances where I drove up, the line was long, and I drove away. Hey, it's lunch and I work, so I don't have time to wait in line for 30 min to get a salad. Not happening. The ingredients are super fresh. You can definitely go crazy and load up your salad, but it will cost you!
