The workers here are really friendly and greet you as soon as you walk in. They ask if you need any assistance and then mozy on with their own business and tell you that they will be hanging around if you need anything. The interior is really small and cozy. You can see just about everything that they have in one skim over the store, yet it does not feel cluttered or disorganized. read more

I LOVE my Cedar Park Wild Birds Unlimited! Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about all birds!! The always ask if they can carry your purchases to your car! The store is always clean, bright, and cheery, and customers have fun sharing stories! I have shopped online for my other purchases during the pandemic, except for WBU!! Wild Birds Unlimited (WBU) off 183 offers a few things that big-box stores and online shopping can't. Of course, the biggest draw to WBU is the ultra high-quality of the products they offer. However, it is the knowledgeable staff at this location, which keeps me loyal to this store. I enjoy talking with staff that love birds as much as I do. I've found that most of the staff here field-tests the feeders, bird houses, and seed they offer in the store. The staff at WBU can help you attract a variety of birds to your yard because they: 1.Have the knowledge to answer questions and offer advice 2. Are passionate about birds 3. Want to provide superior food and quality habitat for our feathered friends 4. Are birders and they have tons of experience watching and feeding birds ;-) The feeders from WBU are engineered to limit wasted birdseed and to withstand all kinds of weather. These feeders might cost a bit more, but in my opinion, they are worth every penny. It is nice to have a feeder that will last for several years instead of a few months (I've put-up bird feeders for decades. I used to buy bird feeders and seed from Home Depot or Target. Even when I bought the best feeders from these stores, my bird feeders often needed to be replaced before the end of one season, because they dry rotted.). Another thing to note is that WBU ONLY SELLS FRESH SEED varieties and mixes. I had noticed that the seed I bought from the big-box locations usually smelled rancid. When I used this seed, I would have a yard full of house sparrows, white winged doves, and grackles. When I switched to WBU seed, I noticed a shift to more songbirds...chickadees, titmice, a variety of song sparrows, and mourning doves! I suspect that the house sparrows, white winged doves, and grackles have a higher tolerance for rancid food. Also, the nyjer seed that I had gotten from big-box stores sat uneaten in my feeders. I never had a successful nyjer station until I started buying seed from WBU (for a lower price than what big-boxes offers). I love the wildlife that brightens my yard when I provide a little food, water, and shelter! I also love the personal knowledge and human touch that WBU offers, these are things you won't get at a big-box location and that you can't get online. read more

I love this place. I am a bit of a bird nut. I have three bird feeders. All bought at this location. Over time the plastic fades and WBU replaces the tubes and other parts for free. But my absolute favorite thing about WBU was putting up an owl house. One of the store reps told me when and where to hang it. He gave me some bedding. A few months later, I had four baby owls flying around the yard. I have two feeders with nyjer seed. The coolest birds that visit these feeders are bright yellow and black. I tried big box box home improvement nyjer seed and it usually rotted before it was all used. The other feeder is the one that closes when a squirrel gets on the perch. The squirrel got frustrated and chewed through the top and WBU replaced the top for free. This feeder attracts larger birds, such as, cardinals, red wing blackbirds and blue jays. read more

I've been a member and loyal customer of WBU and this location for 5 years I've probably spent well over $1,000 over the years. Today I decided to stop in for one bag of seed and with all the new COVID restrictions I wasn't sure what to expect. There were so many signs on the door: wear a mask, limit 2 people at a time, curbside pickup,new hours, etc and the door was locked but I could see people inside. Someone came and unlocked the door, asked if I was there for a pickup and I said no, just needed one bag of seed. She said sorry we close at 3:00. I asked what time is it? She said 3:05. Didn't ask me if I want to purchase online in my car and wait. Nothing. I went back to my car and my clock read 3:00. Well that's the last time I go to this location. I'll go to Georgetown from now on. Guess they don't need my loyalty or business after 5 years and in this economy? Thanks read more

Love this place! They have a lot of great merchandise that is well-organized and doesn't feel cluttered. The staff seem super knowledgeable and helpful, but without being pushy. They have very high quality products and educate you about the differences between their seed and the seed you get at big box stores. You truly do get what you pay for! They also gave us a fairly good sized bag of seed for free to try one of the blends before we committed to a 20 pound bag. It almost totally filled our big feeder! I've been to this location 3 times in the past 5 months and each time have encountered the same employee who has horrible customer service skills. She's rude and condescending in every interaction I've had with her. Definitely not welcoming to beginners trying to understand what they need to do to attract birds. She needs to find a better way to phrase what she's trying to communicate. It's not what she's saying, it's how she's saying it and her tone. I even went to the Georgetown store once to avoid her (and then found out it's the same owner). Suggest the owner get her some customer service training. Just because you're knowledgeable about birds doesn't mean you're a good fit for the job. read more

As for price, I've found the same brands of feeders online, and for the same price. Most are "fair-traded" items, so no price break for shopping around. When you add in postage, and the -almost-always-free repairs, it's a no-brainer to shop in the store. Good service, and field-tested advice. read more

I love this store and the owner. I had the worst experience with Bee Caves location and was so frustrated. I called and the owner was so kind. I live in Dripping and she offered to meet me half way to deliver the seed I wanted. I was so happy. I picked up seed. She gave be a free little brick of seed and a little cage for it. She had so much pride in her store and service. It is rare to find people that love what they do and be so kind and giving to make one happy. I will drive from dripping to 183 location. I plan on keeping my birds happy and put my money where it is appreciated. Bee Caves people, take 1 trip over to 183 and you will never go back to rude, unthankful people. read more

Bought a feeder for $79 that only lasted 2 months. Went back to the store and bought a replacement part for $16 and it broke putting it up. I will not go back and spend any more money on poorly designed feeders that break every time they hit the ground. I will go back to the big box hardware stores and buy a new feeder every year for a lot less money. Do not do any business with this store. It is an overpriced ripoff. read more
