We ordered the Nachos - meh, nothing special We ordered the Rice and Beans (good), Tiger Soft Tacos (meh - nothing special), and the Carolina Yardbird - Don't know yet, My daughter had to leave and boxed and Left. I would say the service leaves a lot to be desired, but we never got any service there so its really hard to tell. We got our drinks and it was over an hour before we saw her again - My coffee was ice colds. We could see her through the window talking to folks at tables inside, but she never came back out. Move along, nothing to see here. A hippy spot with unusual twists on traditional items such as enchiladas and burgers, but rather than impressing, the odd combinations are just... odd. The food is made to order so maybe a little longer than some places to be served but so worth the wait. I had the Machu Pichu and it was so so good. I was worried because I can't stand "crafty" people...especially beards, tats and dreadsy hair...multi colored. Uckkkkk - so pretentious and image inflated, and someone called this place a "craft" eatery. Well...dang. Best dinner I've had in a long time. And the staff here are nice (without that country-sweet and shallow smiley crap you seem to get everywhere else in Boone). Their just friendly. Fruit flies everywhere. Ordered the brie appetizer and most of the fruit that came with it was frozen. Husband ordered salmon and it was fishy mush. Mine was canned sweet potato mashed and rolled into tortillas, with canned pineapple on top. Wine "special" tasted like vinegar. Not good at all but service was decent. read more

We were told it would be fifteen minutes wait for seating, that turned into 30 minutes. Once we were seated and had ordered, the wait was over an hour. Definitely not worth it where there's so many other local cafes in the area. read more

Terrible experience. Soda served in cans...not fountain drinks. Wait was incredibly long. Server smelled of B.O. Price was expensive for the mediocre food served. Hidden gem to find Latin Inspired food. I had the Havana and it was terrific. Will definitely have this on my list for visiting Boone.

Came here for dinner in a Sunday, not too crowded. We both got burgers and were pretty underwhelmed as far as taste goes. Cooked perfectly to our specifications (medium rare) and a decent size, just nothing too spectacular with flavor profile. The side salad was good. Service was relative quick and staff was upbeat. Chose this place based on the outside seating and that they allowed dogs. The patio was great, service was attentive but extremely slow. My wife enjoyed her Surf N Turf tacos, I got the Arroz Con Pollo and it was horrible, flavorless black beans, along side a mess of overcooked rice, bland veggies and half a dozen slivers of flavorless chicken. Our dinner at the Hobnob was so wonderful that we came back the next day for lunch. What a delicious surprise. Traveling through the area and we Yelped this restaurant. The flavors of our entrees were complex and interesting and Molly our server was a delight. The ONLY less than perfect detail was overly salty tortilla chips with an incredible Salsa Verde app. The Mariposa Enchilada was the highlight of all our choices. The food is all fresh, homemade (gourmet-made would be more accurate) and healthy. The yellow curry dish we had for lunch was huge and delicious. Its sweetness was balanced by the seasoning on the tempeh that our other wonderful server, Isani, recommended. We're so glad we found this gem. read more

My tummy was happy after eating here. They have tasty and health-conscious food items with high quality meats, plus vegetarian and gluten free options. In addition, there are toy buckets (great idea!) to keep the kids entertained and very friendly servers. It's a little funky/alternative (like the rest of Boone) but draws a diverse crowd. If you like bad service and cheap food, this is the place for you. My family and I went here on a slow Boone Friday only to wait 1+ hours for odd and way off foods. This is a little hippy spot and just because the food is organic doesn't mean it's good. The Service was slow and the cook woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Absolutely delicious but WAY OVERPRICED. The food is great, the service is usually good, but the prices are outrageous. They changed the name and the menu a bit (formerly hob nob, which I thought was cuter) and increased the prices I think. I don't go here but once a year because it's so expensive. read more

Loved the ghost pepper cheese sandwich! Just the right amount of heat. The chicken nachos were also out of this world. The mango lassi was not what you'd get at an Indian place but was decent. Tired decor with a slow kitchen. I had the Indian curry which was quite tasty and spicy. The rest of the family had the burritos, where they found some of the food combinations questionable. Dined here this past weekend with 6 other ladies. Eclectic atmosphere and definitely a different twist on the same old tired menu you see any and everywhere you go. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. The menu you had to actually read and ponder over your selection. Fresh local ingredients with interesting combinations. It was nice to sit outside and watch the main road filled with people both walking and driving by. Small restaurant with a big following. We did not mind the wait. Service staff was spot on. Will definitely return when back in Boone......breakfast next time. PS.....and for those that complain about "cash or check only", you certainly have never had to review nor pay the invoice from the company that handles credit card transactions. If the fees paid to credit card processing companies were avoided, restaurants (small businesses) could definitely stay more involved in the community with charitable offerings, lower food prices, higher wages etc. Just sayin"....... read more

Love this place. I travel to boone every few weeks and this is always my first stop. Santa Fe salad and chipotle queso are amazing!

Had a great brumch here. Several not so common items (i had shepherds' pie) and several more common (wife had huevos rancheros) - all really well done with local produce. My brother took my daughter and I to this restaurant while we were here on vacation. We couldn't decide what to have since everything sounded good. There were 5 of us that night and we all got something different so we could try more than one choice. My niece is vegan and she was pleased she had options too. I remember when this place was a crappy run down bbq joint. I love what they have done with it (there's only so much you can do with the building). I was sad to hear that Angelica's was gone but I loved all the dishes we got at Hob Nob. I even took the menu home with me so I could see if my friend (who owns one of the only healthy eating restaurants in my town) could make some similar dishes. Had the delicious pork burrito, it was full of all kinds of yumminess. My partner had the portabella panini, and it was also delicious. Started with chips and guacamole, just the right amount of spice and it was served quickly. The waitress was helpful and friendly. Everything tasted very fresh and it is was served in a very nouveau way. We had iced tea to drink (sweet, of course), and it was just right, too. On our way into Boone, we looked up restaurants on Yelp and decided to try this spot. My daughter is a vegetarian and we felt that this was a good choice for her. The place has a very easy going comfortable feel to it. I wouldn't exactly call their menu inexpensive but let me say this. How often do you take a family of five, with different tastes, to a restaurant and have all five exclaiming that their entree choice is great? Not good, but outstanding? We loved visiting this charming, local restaurant that uses a lot of local produce and meat. Not only were our meals delicious, the wait staff was knowledgeable, friendly and prompt! We were also pleased and impressed to learn that the reason they stopped taking credit cards is to buy more local, fresh foods AND to pay their staff better wages! Fantastic organic restaurant. All major food components are local including the grass fed beef, eggs, and year round fresh produce. Plenty of organic, vegan, gluten-free, etc options all across the menu. Very friendly service and great food all around!
