Dined in on 4th of July and it wasn't too crowded for dinner. I had an excellent server. She was attentive and friendly, always came by to check on me, refilled my water when needed. So I ordered a bottle and the bartender opened it and poured two small tastes in the bar and let it sit for several minutes before presenting it When I shared that when I order a bottle it is always opened at the table verifying the winery/vintage. Then opened them one person who is the taster to verify it hasn't gone bad. His response was well this is how a German man told me so the party can clink in celebration. Fish n chip portion was fabulous The overall food was good. In fact I have them 4 stars The service seemed to be lacking and then straw that broke the camel's back was when I was told I had to finish my bottle of wine and could not take it off the premises. The food is hit and miss the service is hit and miss. The ambience is great. My favorite thing to go for is Sunday brunch and I always get the chicken fried steak and it is never a disappointment. The crab feast on Friday nights is incredible. It's the best 50 bucks I ever spent. read more

Finally made a stop here since a friend has been telling me they have a new chef and it's worth trying. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night so we got right in. Service was quick, menu was good, and they had a nice assortment of specials for the night. I will say that the specials seemed pretty pricey and because I just wasn't sure this was going to be worth the high prices I picked something more conservative. I went with the bone in pork chops. Came with two. Yummy garlic mashed potatoes, and vegis which were pretty much just bell peppers. That was disappointing. Pork chops were not large, very juicy and really I enjoyed them. My husband had one of them. I was pleased with my meal. Hubby got the garlic chicken. It was good. He kept saying I could cook the same meal at home (which was actually a compliment lol). And I kept saying, I don't always want to cook at home. They had his favorite drink for half the price other places serve it at and that was a huge plus. I love the grilled salmon dinners. So yummy. Usually cooked perfect. Staff is nice .service is fast. Usually have to ask for our check & sometimes we have to ask for drink refills..but overall it's really great. Steak salad is yummy. Haven't had the pizza but they look & smell yummy. Dinner was not bad! I asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Tasty prime rib, really nice baked potato, seasoned well and very fresh Al dente carrots and Brussels sprouts. Now I have had higher quality meat at a much more expensive price, but for 11.99, it was not bad at all. Can't go wrong with the $10 prime rib special, but not much else exciting on the menu. The Wild Creek Restaurant is located inside the Running Creek Casino. The prime rib is a great deal, but nothing else caught my eye on the menu. The vegetables that came with the steak were on point, and I couldn't complain at all about the steak being that it was only 10 bucks. Service was friendly. Went to the Friday night seafood buffet..all you can eat. They had a huge selection of seafood: crab clusters, oysters, prawns, salmon, snapper, coconut shrimp, etc... there is also prime rib, chicken, pasta bar, salads, and an Asian station, which had excellent Korean ribs. The coconut shrimp were excellent.. they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait. my only disappointment were the oysters weren't very meaty. I would recommend this to anyone..I think it is worth the price..only $20 a person. read more

Great place to eat. The prime rib is what we go for. If you like good prime rib this is the place to go. Every once in a great while we have gotten a piece that was not up to standard. But it is very, very rarely. The staff is great and we have two favorites, Sara is great and really takes great care of us and a big shout out to Paige for coming back. We stopped here for dinner after we discovered the restaurant at a nearby casino had closed at 3p. My mom and I had the $8.95 prime rib dinners, I added the wedge salad. My sister had the fish and chips and my son had the clam linguini. First, the price for the prime rib dinners was fair... it wasn't prettied up, it was a big slab of meat a (too) huge potato and some veggies. The wedge salad wasn't very good... first it needs to be on a bigger plate that you can properly cut and mix it up on. My fiance and I love to eat here! One of our favorite restaurant in Mendocino County. Though it's inside a casino, this restaurant is not at all smoky. Service is always excellent. We love to order the ribs. Though the ribs is listed under appetizer, what they give you is more than enough for dinner at a very decent price! It used to be only $9 but the price increased a little bit, maybe by $1. My fiance loves their pizzas. I didn't plan on eating here but was offered complimentary dinner (comp meal from Casino). I won't do that again! First I was told to seat myself, then waiter never came. After a while I got a random waiter's attention to make my order. 45 minutes later I received my incomplete order. The dinner salad never came... I wasn't paying for the meal so no need to complain, but being treated like a bum looking for free food was horrible. It was degrading and insulting experience. The foods okay but the service is something else. I still left a tip (40% of meal list price) even though they didn't earn it. If there is a next time I'll get my food to go. read more

The seafood buffet was just out of this world maybe 8 years back. Management changed and I stopped going I tried it again this week for the first time in years and was shocked how poor it was. For 25 bucks you got a buffet much worse than 15 dollar buffets elsewhere. 15 is probably an exaggeration I guess I have to admit it's the worst in my life SOS in USMC was better. Now when I was a sub officer we truly had some decent chow I will go back next week to try the regular non buffet menu which I sure hope is better. Nice ambience for a relaxing dinner. Prices are more than fair when you consider the excellent quality of the food. The only complaint is that there a whiff of cigarette smoke that can drift into the restaurant (which is non-smoking). The staff is professional and efficient. I've tried the pasta specials twice and they've been very good. There's a $9.95 nightly prime rib special that I've yet to try. The Delmonico steak, while tasty, was a bit tough (med. rare) with chewy gristle running throughout. A bit disappointed, but I don't expect miracles for $9.95. We spend a great deal of time in Lake County and usually dine at one local restaurant almost exclusively. This past weekend we decided to make a night of it by going for dinner and gambling. We made a reservation at Running Creek and were pleasantly surprised. Our reservation was at 7:00 pm and we were seated promptly. The clam chowder was awesome and the steaks good also. My only area for improvement would be to improve the time it takes to get a cocktail once ordered. Overall a great night and experience. Plan on returning soon. read more

Love that Lake County is getting more restaurants! Yeah! Wildfire is located in the casino and is clean and has a very good and reasonably priced menu. They have great lunch specals too. I went to the Friday seafood buffet once and was very impressed! I don't normally like buffets because, to me, it is like eating cafeteria food. But not here. No idea how they get $30 a person for the seafood buffet (yes $25 w/player card AND if you want crab they charge another $5). The quality of food is on par with Hometown Buffet, the selection is about 10% as large as Hometown, the food quality is poor, and it's twice the price of Hometown. Not a fan of Hometown either, but at least you know what you're getting for $12.99 @ Hometown. I know there's not a lot of options for dining in Lake County, but there's far better options for the same or less money. This review is only for the Thanksgiving dinner. We have eaten here before, and the prime rib dinner is great, both in quality and price, so what a disappointment the Thanksgiving dinner was. We were given the option of turkey, ham or both, and choosing both were given 3 extremely small and thin slices of turkey breast meat and 3 slices of ham. I would have to estimate about 2-3 oz. of turkey and the same for the ham. I seriously doubt that that turkey meat was cooked on a turkey as it looked the same as that on a tv dinner tray, only less. A medium scoop of mashed potatoes with grave poured over the top, a scoop of plain bread stuffing, a plastic cup of about maybe 1/2 oz of cranberry sauce and a small portion of string beans with, I assume, soup mixed in, which was tepid, barely above room temp. In all, a real disappointment, especially at $18 apiece. When I asked if we could get more turkey or ham, we were informed that one plate was it. Oh, yes, there was a choice of pumpkin pie or blueberry cobbler, which were pedestrian at best. The quality of the food was about on the same level as a Swanson tv dinner, and the quantity was probably the same. It's too late to warn anybody to stay away from this particular disaster, but hopefully if you have plans to eat out at Christmas, if Wild Creek offers this, you'll give it a pass. Having said all that, the service was excellent, as was our previous experience. The failure in this case was with the kitchen, both in planning and execution. read more
