If you're a vegetarian this place is not for you. Our first time eating here and the food was terrific. Definitely has an old school steak house vibe from the 70's and 80's but not run down. It's a traditional experience that the younger crowds leaving less stellar reviews may not understand. We came for the prime rib and asked for medium rare because some reviews mentioned that medium was slightly over cook on the light end of pink. Medium rare was perfect! I did put some horseradish on it but scraped it off. The prime rib was delicious without it. It actually masked the flavor. The onion rings are also fantastic especially with the onion ring sauce. They mix the salad dressing into the salads so if that's not your thing you may want to mention it when you order. I personally liked it. They apparently have a week day special. I will definitely be coming back for that. Just an added note. Bar was also great. Good drinks and friendly bartenders. If you don't know what drink you want they will give you great recommendations.

Everything is outstanding! The food, the very friendly service and yes, even the old school ambiance! The smell of the oak wood grilled steaks! I want to m9ve here from NY just to eat this steak everyday. I love the family style salad with house dressing. I just can't remember ever having a better steak in my life!

I hadn't been to the Broiler in 15 years and was amazed it was a good now as it was then. It is warm, comfortable and inviting like going to a favorite relatives house. The host was bright and personable while the staff was there to satisfy all needs, we didn't have to want for anything. Try the Prime Rib on the weekend, it's to die for.

The food was definitely fresh and the quality was great, it may just be a personal preference but I felt a lot of the food was lacking in flavor. The risotto was okay but my fiancé did like his fish. Dessert was no good unfortunately, not a fan, not much sweetness going on and the textures were not to our liking. The oysters were the highlight of the night, possibly the best oysters I've had! They tasted amazing and paired well with my drink. Dinner would have been more enjoyable if it wasn't so crazy loud that you basically had to yell to hear each other or the server. Seating was also tight with so many people waiting to be seated and servers handling orders. It would've been a better experience if the other employees weren't shoving you to get by people blocking the way or if other customers weren't smacking your head with their bags from walking behind your chair. Service was meh...our server seemed aggravated but I just chalked it up to being a busy night.

I got a window seat for some typical solo tracker people watching activity. I went with the highly recommended items. Beet salad, seafood pasta, 2 glasses of brut rose. Beet salad was great! Love the flavor combination and also the plating. Super pretty. The seafood pasta was great. Pasta got a good bite to it and seafood was fresh. I had a nice chat with Heidi. She is the mother of the head chef. She is one proud mama and super fun to chat with. She recommended the bread pudding and I got it. Lovely. It is a little on the dense side but the lemon cut through the heaviness and make it balanced. I really enjoyed it here. Overall, I enjoyed ukiah in general. Good food scene (better than Mendocino) and just nicer people all around. Would like to come back again.

The bartender/server greeted us immediately upon walking in, was super friendly and accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious and healthy servings for a great price. Most places put little effort or pride into side salads, the one that came out was well made, huge, and delicious. The steaks were huge and tasty, though lacking salt but that's to be forgiven. We've only been here for breakfast, so I can't just the non-breakfast item. The restaurant is attached to a bar, that also has tables to eat in. I think this place a popular hang out for a drinking breakfast. Decor is 70's - 80's ish and not fancy. It is reasonably clean. It has one of the last salad bars on earth. Coffee was not fancy and felt like it came out of my mom's old percolator. The breakfast menu seems expensive. A few things to note - good luck on any kind of a healthy breakfast. You can't get egg white omelettes. They "don't do that". They also did not have juice? (Even though they are attached to a full bar?) The only substitutions for hash browns are pancakes or a biscuit and gravy. They don't do poached eggs, not even on the benedicts. Over a couple of visits, the other things noticed - bacon requested crispy comes out not nearly cooked enough and flaccid. The sausage felt a little raw in the middle. The hash browns looked homecut and home made, but were burnt on the edges, without being nice and crispy, and the potatoes were undercooked. which was disappointing. Eggs, though, were cooked perfectly, which were really good. The pancakes were the absolute star of the show, though. They were huge and very fluffy and the best pancakes I've seen anywhere, except maybe Du Pars in Los Angeles. What killed it is they give you the square plastic Sysco containers of syrup which are not very good. They give you beautiful fluffy butter, but no real maple syrup? Good syrup or at least syrup you could pour yourself would have upped their pancake game up considerably. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy tasted of flour, but was seasoned well. The biscuit was very tender. I couldn't eat but a bite. Looking at other tables, the omelettes did look good, I just hate cooked egg yolks. Over all, it was mid, but everyone was nice and there was plenty of food.

I must say, it exceeded all our expectations! We arrived slightly early, and as we waited a friendly gentleman approached us inquiring if we needed assistance. Though the restaurant had not yet opened, he kindly spoke with the staff on our behalf. He invited us to sit in the charming, shaded courtyard. Which was perfect especially since we were accompanied by our sweet Boston Terrier. Our server Kameron was exceptional, attentive, knowledgeable, and delightful. She shared fascinating details about the historic buildings and their connection to the hotel, providing us with a booklet recounting the intriguing story of the Tallman family's legacy. Kameron also recommended the Blue Wings with a sweet-spicy Asian glaze as an appetizer. Without a doubt, the best chicken wings I have ever tasted! Her suggestion was spot on, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband ordered the Fish & Chips, while I savored the Crispy Chicken Salad. Both dishes prepared to perfection. Our dog Winnie was treated to a generous beef dog patty. An impressive patty that left her a very happy girl. Our experience with Kameron truly made us fall in love with Tallman's. So much so that before leaving, I immediately made a reservation for July. The same courteous gentleman who initially greeted us was there to assist with this, offering to reserve a dinner reservation for the evening we arrive. He even offered to show us one of their dog-friendly Main Street Suites. The suite was absolutely stunning. The hospitality we received throughout our visit was exemplary. I am now more excited about our upcoming stay at Tallman's than even our planned trip to the beach house in Fort Bragg.
