Marina is the place to be if you want to enjoy beautiful sunsets on Lake Brownwood. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has fairy lights and there's live music as well which made the experience great. And since we're right next to the water, you're able to walk down to the docks and be right near the water which is always fun. As for the food, my friend got the club sandwich and I ended up getting the burger. In terms of pricing, it is a little more on the expensive side. My friend's club sandwich was great and the burger wasn't bad but the bun was too thick in my opinion. Not to mention, the fries were unfortunately soggy and felt like they sat out for a while. I didn't feel like the quality of the food matched the price but the customer service did. Our server was amazing and super friendly- she frequently checked up on our table and kept us updated on when the food was going to come out. On top of everything, there is also a bar inside as well as a pool table (I believe it was $10/hr). I ended up ordering a margarita and enjoyed the drink while playing pool. Went there on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Sat outside enjoying the sun and glistening lake. Ambiance was great enjoying our cocktails/beer. Gator balls were surprisingly good and moist even if a bit over fried. The best was the shrimp. Hubby had grilled shrimp and I had butterfly breaded shrimp. Both were excellent--sooo tender--not overcooked. Highly recommend. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Nice little place! read more

The noise was way to high for me but that is the only fault we found with the Restaurant in Downtown Brownwood on Fisk Street and that noise level was the ONLY reason I did not go all 5 stars. We ate lunch there and they have a large menu and were able to serve us with Gluten Free chicken Caesar salad. Wife came away unharmed and very pleased with her meal. We are always very cautious because gluten free is not a casual lifestyle for a Celiac. I had a tasty dinner salad and Duck Eggs which are jalapeno peppers stuff with their seasoned cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. Yum, good! The bacon was crisp and not sloppily undercooked and the peppers were good. I do not think they were particularly hot but I like hot so I am a poor judge of hot peppers. This place is always good. The Hotter then Hades burger is incredible if you like heat. Pair it with a bucket of iced down longnecks and fries. There is indoor seating, but the fun place to be is out back on the porch. Live music, a fire pit, great service...and sunsets on the lake. What's not to like? read more

Their food is always really good. Now that they've moved to town it's pretty convenient. The lake location is fun to eat at during the summer and the live music they have is usually pretty good. The music was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. The noise from the pool tables was also loud. My husband's fried catfish had a burned filet and a raw filet. My food was totally bland, tasteless chicken fried steak and gravy. We've been to similar bar and grills that had much better acoustics. read more

So, your at the lake in your boat. Eventually, you head for the marina cause you need gas, supplies, this, that, and something to eat. We're at Lake Brownwood cause I'm checking out cabins to rent for a quiet weekend on the lake. Now we're hungry. Wild Duck Marina pops up on Yelp and off we go. Wild Duck is quite a ways off the highway so we finally get there. Nice big parking lot and a very plain jane metal building. I wondered if we made the right choice. Step inside and your attitude instantly gets better. First, all the fishing gear and floatie tubes you could possibly ever need at the lake. Next, a really nice rustic wood dining area. That's closed because of COVID 19. #corona sucks. All seating is outside. The BIG covered patio facing the lake is great. The seating area beside the building is sandy with decorations and strings of lights. Great area. So, of course I had to try the Hotter than Hades burger, which she said was extremely hot. Like 10/10 hot. We'll see. I give it 8/10 hot. It wasn't kill you hot, but it got in my mouth and stayed there. Two big glasses of tea was needed. By the way, it was tasty. I'd get it again. My brother got the steak fingers, which he chowed down. Great food in a great place. And a great view of all the boats and jet ski's going by. We liked it and you will too! read more

I've heard about this place for a while as a cool place to hang out at. Wild Duck Marina has been recommended by at least six different people for the live music, burgers, catfish and wings. I finally made it out a few weeks ago and have been coming back as often as I can. About a 10 minute drive from Brownwood, Wild Duck Marina offers the rare opportunity to sit lakeside and enjoy one of the most spectacular views in the region. It gets busy on the weekend so if you have time, try to make it for dinner about 30 minutes before sunset on a Wednesday or Thursday night. The recommendations were correct. The food is really good, but having dinner looking out on the water is difficult to put a price tag on. Don't miss out. read more

Best place I've ever been . Between the food and the staff you will feel incredibly welcomed. Free music on Friday and Saturday can't beat that. This was our first time there. The appetizers were excellent as was the food. Wonderful atmosphere. After dinner we went outside to live music while the sun was setting. Highly recommend. My wife and I had the hamburger while two of our party had the gator bites. Surprisingly, they did not taste like chicken. We'll be back. read more
