Lexington loves Wild Eggs! There was a long wait for Saturday morning breakfast so we sat at the bar. It was a different experience from my previous visits to Wild Egg, but I enjoyed it. Great Boody Mary's! My friend got the Mr. potato head and I had a build your own omelette. Both were delicious. I will definitely get the Mr. Potato Head next time (so flavorful!). I went here a little before closing on a Saturday. Love the interior, it's very pretty and the egg theme with everything is cute. I got the Surfer Girl omelette with a muffin and plain grits. I also got a cappuccino. Everything was great. I think I'm used to bad grits. I don't know if I'd ever had good grits before, in fact. The grits here were great! I'm used to grits from Cracker Barrel that are gelatinous and pretty flavorless. The plain grits were actually pretty flavorful and not at all gelatinous. They were creamy and pretty salty, but I enjoyed the saltiness. The omelette was nice because of all the ingredients. Avocado, sprouts, mushrooms, sour cream, tomatoes. I couldn't identify what kind of muffin it was but it was actually a savory muffin, something with onion in it I think. I wanted a decaf cappuccino but they only had caffeinated espresso so I went with that. Tasted pretty good; I'll probably get one each time. I wanted to try their mimosas because I've heard good things, but I'll have to save that for when I'm not driving. I ate about half my food before I got full, so I had plenty of leftovers. Bad service - rude and unprofessional. My family and I are visiting my sister and brother in law. We love wild eggs and were so excited to visit. Upon entering, we asked if we could be on the wait list for outside. The staff said we could and told us it would be about a 20-25 minute. After 20 minutes go by, 5/6 of our party was there and our name was called. They said they could not sit us without the one missing member. While that makes sense, that policy should be made known from the start. We asked if could just order our missing members food for him or shorten our people at our table to 5. They said no to the take out and said we could do a table of 5, but that if our other member showed up, he couldn't sit with us. So petty. The worst part? When we were ready, they tried to seat us inside even with our specific request we need to be outside due to health reasons. We had waited for an outdoor table, only to now be told they aren't staffed for their patio and that the patio wouldn't open. Would have been nice to know! I think the girls at the front didn't know this, and the manager tried to cover it like we misunderstood. Nope. We had waited because my toddler is unvaccinated against covid and we wanted to be safe. Had we known the patio was closed from the start, we would have happily gone somewhere else. Pretty good breakfast/brunch place. Food- The food is always fresh and good tasting. Ive tried multiple omelette, pancakes, and breakfast scrambles. My favorite would have to be the omelette which I normally create my own. The size of the omelettes is very generous and comes with potatoes and muffin. The muffin can be hit or miss but I normally sub it out for a biscuit. The pancakes are larger and fluffy. Also if your into orange juice it's a must have. They squeeze the juice daily which make it better than any store bought orange juice. Service- First let me start off by saying if you come on the weekend prepare to have a wait. Normally the waits go by fast but there is always a wait. As far as the service goes it's normally good. The servers are friendly and take good care of you . Our first breakfast in KY was spent with the staff and patrons at the Wild Egg- surprisingly, hubby's choice. I was pumped to be going somewhere local and not another chain restaurant, so I was all in. This place is small, but really cute- the decorations are simple and appropriate, and the seating it laid out really well, with plenty of space, and the option of tables, booths, or benches. Floor to ceiling windows make it nice and bright, giving it a really morning - friendly feel. Our service and food were both good, but the part that was most memorable was our ridiculous cinnamon roll.. when our server asked us if we wanted to start with one, I knew it must be something to get excited about, and it certainly was. When it came, it was in a cast iron skillet, and it was smothered in a warm cream cheese topping. It was so amazing, I'd go back again just for that! Being that we just recently moved to Lexington about a month ago, we have been craving eggs Benedict. We had not gone out to breakfast since we got here. We chose Wid Eggs because it had a lot of good reviews, and there was eggs Benedict on the menu. Now, we could have chosen a couple of different places, but decided on this place. Our server was right there, brought carafes of coffee, we ordered, food arrived in about 15 mins. Plate looked good, potatoes looked great, wait! Where's the hollandaise sauce? I asked for extra because there just was not enough of the hollandaise. Was informed that there would be an additional cost. Why??? There is nothing on these eggs! Ahh, I see, you don't put enough sauce on so that you get more money, got it. Shameful. Took a couple of potatoes, shoved them in my mouth, yumm, good potato's. Cut into the eggs, shoved that bite into my mouth, wait, why are the eggs cold? Another bite, why does it taste like they were just pulled out of someplace cold, then reheated in a warm bath of water?? Asked if everything was good, we said no, the manager (I assumed) took our plates so we could get a new , hot breakfast, so we thought. Nope, same thing. Cold eggs inside of the poached eggs. Anyhow, we ate them anyway, we were starving by that time, it was going past 11! Our server came to clear our plates, asked how everything was,we told her, she was mad, gave us something off the bill. Not sure WHAT she took off, we didn't get a receipt, but we thought maybe free coffee. Should have taken off for the extra hollandaise that was never there to begin with. Also the sauce was very runny, not smooth and thick, like a hollandaise should be. Needless to say, we will not go back to this location. May try the other one. Sure hope their bene's are better. As soon as I walked out after eating here this morning, I had to take two Tums and a Pepcid. I ate the Veggie Bennie Florentine, and at first bite I thought it tasted weird. First of all, the garlic chunks in the spinach of the Bennie were raw...and must have been put in at the end of cooking and not given time to cook. I think the smoked paprika on top might have been what made me nauseated (since it's made from ground smoked chili peppers and contains capsaicin, which some folks can't tolerate)...not sure. It's my fault for eating the Bennie with strange tasting spices. Then, my wife's pancakes were burned on one side and I could only eat one bite because of the burned taste. Also, the ice water glasses had a foul smell...usually from when a dishwasher needs to be cleaned. Put one of their glasses of water up to your nose and you'll see what I mean. I know the odor because it occasionally happens at home when the dishwasher needs cleaning. The grits tasted way too creamy. So it took about 4 hours before my stomach settled down. Our waiter was extremely good and our daughter loved her skillet breakfast. Our grandson liked his Loco entree from the new menu. read more

I think I was most surprised by the ability to order potato latkes...and wow! I would have never imagined that you could find latkes, much less delicious latkes in Lexington! For all the hype I was not impressed. I ordered Mr. Potato Head with turkey sausage. And my wife ordered Crystal's wild berry crepes with turkey sausage instead of the offered bacon etc. We also ordered coffee and orange juice. The orange juice alone was $6! Amazing but not really. The food presentation was nice but coldish. There was nothing special about either dish for say and nothing that would justify the $34 check we received for 2 breakfasts. The turkey sausage was extra... certainly wasn't disclosed when ordering. I have to admit we really had hopes for this place given the exterior and even the really nice looking interior. But the service was just so-so... And the server didn't even care that I barely ate what was on my plate because it was really rather unappetizing.
