Small space which I was worried may be awkward but everyone is so kind that it wasn't long before feeling totally comfortable there. Our order was: beef dumpling, shrimp shumai, yankee roll (fried eel based, this one was my favorite), rainbow roll (a variety of fish on one roll), and the futomaki roll (GIANT egg custard + pickled veggie). Prices were very reasonable - all roles were about 7-13 dollars and come in sizable portions. Want to emphasize that I think it is really worth it to come in and sit at the front! I went in yesterday around 2:30 in the afternoon to order the small party platter presented on the menu 8 sushi rolls plus rainbow rolls ( $ 95.00) to be picked up around 4:30 . The owner was very rude saying that they were very busy ( no one was there ) and I cant be late to pick them up. The reason I wanted a platter is because is was bringing it to a small spontaneous gathering. I had my husband pick it up and bring it to our destination . I was shocked to see that it was not on a platter as the menu displayed but rather broken up in small take out containers . I did not bring the proper plate to display the sushi in an appetizing manner thinking it was going to look like the photo . It was very unsettling and look horrible . The sushi wasnt even that great ..nothing special . Needless to say I will never go there again . Poor service, false advertising of product presentation and boring food. read more

Let me say first off that their sushi is very good along with presentation, but we have many sushi places like that on Long Island. So, I ordered a party platter for $100 to share with guests. I specifically asked for no vegetable rolls. For that kind of money, I want all fish. When I got home, there were 46 pieces of maki (practically half the platter) with no fish only avocado, cucumber, carrot, mushroom, etc. Obviously, I was not pleased. I gave my guests the fish, and my wife and I ate the "$50 salad!" I went back the next day to tell them what happened. Now I am not looking for any freebies, but I felt it important to voice my complaint. Let me tell you that I was not heard at all. No "sorry." Nothing, not even a response. As I was leaving, I said, "So that's it." No response. I am aware that their English is not perfect, but the chef understood what happened. My picture shows the $100 platter. The chopstick shows how many pieces contained no fish. This was a communication problem, but they need to own up to their error. It is really too bad because the sushi is good, but how can you trust a business that has no concern for their customers. I will stick with Umami on Main Street; the owner/chef is a sweetheart. Cute and cozy spot with only two tables that mainly does take out. The service was warm and welcoming. We loved all the sushi rolls we ordered, the tempura was super crunchy and spicy rolls had a nice kick. A lot of the rolls had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna combos. Tried Sushi Day after finding out about it when I was looking through Yelp for a new spot, and I had never had this before, but I put in an order. The place is super small and almost hidden in a strip shopping mall, and it seems to be a walk in pickup place since there isn't many places to sit. Overall, the whole thing was very average and forgettable. The interior decorations create such a cozy atmosphere, and there's always open seating. The staff is so inviting and helpful, with very speedy service. We ordered a crunchy spicy tuna roll, a salmon avocado roll, and Manhatthan roll(shrimp tempura,cucumber and mayo). We were happy to find that everything was really fresh. In my experience, most places can have a slight fishy taste in their spicy tuna rolls, but there was none found here whatsoever. Well the staff made us feel extremely welcome as we occupied the only 2 tables in the restaurant. We each had two rolls, that were all extremely fresh, and started with seaweed salad.
