We went here for lunch one day. It's a very convenient spot if you're travelling to the airport since it on the way. We had the option to sit inside or outside. We choose to eat outside. All the staff were wearing masks and gloves while keeping social distance. They were very friendly and there was no wait. We ordered the 2 Mini Thai Spring Roll, Szechuan tofu with white rice, and Indonesian Samba noodles with tofu. Each entre came with a soup. We choose the vegetarian hot & sour soup. The soup was so satisfying to have on a breezy day. The soup was very good. The spring rolls were good too, but not that special. We've never had Indonesian Samba before, so we were curious to see how it would taste. It didn't taste as strong as we expected, it kind of tasted close to a Singapore fried noodle. The Szechuan tofu was the best dish I had there. It was very flavorful tangy, and sweet. The only thing is there is not Szechuan peppercorn in the dish. If you're looking for the mind numbing Szechuan tofu, you might be disappointed. But it was still a bit spicy and tasty. I live in the neighborhood and have never eaten here. Tonight, I decided to stop and try out this establishment. The ambiance is nice . So I sat at the bar the bartender Sam was very attentive and his service was impeccable. I order for a appetizer spicy salmon rolls, which were very good and fresh. For my entree, I order the crispy duck . The only reason that I did not give the 5 stars was because of the lack of flexibility the crispy duck came with pineapple fried rice that I was not interested in and the only option was white rice or plain fried rice. I offered to pay and change it to shrimp or chicken fried rice , but they said you can't do it. I would hope that in the future, it will be looked at differently so that there is an option for change. There are people who are allergic to pineapple, and the options should be vast. This restaurant has been on my radar to visit for the last couple of years since I have found that I enjoy Thai/Asian fusion foods more than I would like to admit. But as any good yelper would, I made sure to read the reviews prior to visiting and was prepared for great food and sub par service. However, I have to admit that I received great food and great service. Our server Roger was attentive throughout our meal and was always polite. I am hoping this was not an anomaly and that when we return we can expect the same great service we received on our first outing to Wild Ginger. Now to the food. The menu consists of "Asian cuisine", which would consists of the normal Thai slate of foods such as Pad Thai, udon, chicken and beef satay, etc. It also includes the staple Chinese foods such as general tso's chicken and Kung Pao chicken. The second half of the menu is the "Japanese cuisine", which consists of sushi, and hand rolls (sea food and vegetarian). We decided to eat from the Asian menu since my wife are not fans of sea food. For our appetizers, we opted for salads. My wife had a ginger salad and I had the Vietnamese salad. Both were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the sweet and spicy dressing on the Vietnamese salad. For our entree I had the Thai red curry with chicken and my wife had the broccoli soy Ginger sauce. Both were very good, however I really enjoyed my wife's meal. So much so that I had to order one to go. I also tried the sake red sangria and I must say that this drink is a must try. Overall, I liked the ambiance of the restaurant, staff was very polite and we had no service issues, and the food was delicious. We asked for a bottle of reisling and unfortunately, the only one they sell by the bottle is Sutter Home. I regret going through with the order because drinking a $38 bottle of Sutter Home is just ridiculous. They could step up the wine selection a little. I had the wok ginger glazed shrimp as an entree. The shrimp was really good and flavorful. However, it is served with red onion and green beans - I would have preferred it with more tasty vegetables. My friend found a coupon for Happy Hour at Wild Ginger. We have always had a good experience there and felt this would be no different. We were directed to sit at the bar and then asked for the HH menu. For a venue that advertised HH, this took quite some time. The barman did not speak English. Drawers were opened, shelves investigated in looking for these menus. When we finally got them, we ordered a series of rolls and the Vietnamese spring rolls. We thought they were fried but they were cold and so large it was impossible to eat without taking several bites. This would not fit in your mouth. No forks or knives available. The Sushi was fresh and tasted very good, had the sea bass for the main course. Sea bass was good but wasn't Pan seared as the menu stipulates. I would have given at least three stars but the utter display for personal hygiene displayed In the dinner area was a bit too much. My Sister introduced me to this location on Long Island some several months ago, which during my visit I had some pretty good food. I had a tuna sashimi appetizer with a potato chip like thing accompanying it, braised duck entree with a hint of ginger, served with bok choy and brown rice, also served was an asian inspired chicken dish with an assortment of mushrooms. Havent had their sushi rolls yet, but what I've experienced previously was pretty good. Service was present and not overpowering. Warm atmosphere. Decent prices. My first visit here was very good. I came here on a weekday with a friend around 7pm. It wasn't crowded at all. The restaurant is very spacious and modern. It's Asian themed and still keeps an upscale decor. It can get loud, but that's fine, just order one of there lovely drinks and you'll tune out the noise in no time. Haha I had the Mai Tai which was very strong, but it had a tasty flavor. I didn't mind at all. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She explained everything I had questions about, and had no problem going into detail. She was very funny also. I ordered the Miso soup as my appetizer which was exceptional, and I ordered the Sesame crusted salmon with mixed vegetables as my entree. The salmon was amazing.It had a little crunch to it, and it had well blended flavors that kept me going back for more. They gave me 4 large pieces of salmon;very filling. Table of 5 friends for lunch on Sunday. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating although parking can be challenging. They have a very inexpensive prefix lunch, which includes a glass of wine, soup, an appetizer and an entrée. Portions are definitely trimmed down but certainly sufficient. The food quality is fair - edible but not the freshest especially in terms of their sashimi. As for the servers, initially they were rushing us through having brought out our soups and within a couple of minutes they served the hot appetizers too. We asked them to slow it down and they did. We selected this restaurant simply because of the convenience of the location for the majority of our friends. Average at best. UPDATE: Restaurant reached out to me noting their disappointment with my review. They offered thatI could reach out to them to discuss in further detail. I suggested this place because I went here a few times before and I was not disappointed. My family was seated and treated very nicely by the staff and our server was very nice and we had a great experience. Our food came at a great pace. We ordered fried rice, sushi, sesame chicken, pan fried noodles, and one other dish that I don't exactly remember but all of it was delicious! Nothing was too salty, and our server was knowledgeable on the vegetarian options that they had. Since it was mothers day, they even gave out these purple rose heart things to all the mothers, which made my mother very happy ^_^. I never have a bad experience at this place. We ordered a variety of food, but the highlights were the sushi rolls which were very fresh tasting and filling. The spicy tuna was delicious as were the vegetarian sushi rolls they had also (sweet potato rolls!) We also tried the sake sangria which was sweeter than I usually like but it worked perfectly with the dryness of the sake.
