I absolutely love Wild Ginger. I've been to this restaurant plenty of times and I have not been disappointed. The food is always delicious and the customer service is exceptional. I went here today to grab dinner and I had the Sambal Samba for my entree. It was delicious and I ate all of my food. I also had the 8 Dim Sum Sampler and Chicken wings for my appetizers. Everything was so delicious and well prepared. I know that I will be visiting Wild Ginger again soon. I highly recommend this place and I will tell everyone I know about this restaurant. We have eaten at this restaurant previously. It was so enjoyable that we decided to go there to celebrate my friend's birthday. We ordered one beef entree and one shrimp entree as well as a kani salad. The food was delicious. I told the waitress it was my friend's birthday. She treated us like royalty, even bringing us a plate of cake with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and a candle on top! She even sang Happy Birthday. We will surely return. read more

Before the pandemic, my family and I were regulars at wild ginger. We love the fresh sushi and the Chinese is always on point. We decided to get takeout today, and I ordered my favorite, the passion roll. Note that the takeout price is the same as sit in. Which is fine. However, the portion I received is significantly smaller than if I were in the restaurant. There's only 8 pieces vs 10. And much less inside. If you are going to charge the same price, the portion size should be the same. Also, I asked for spicy mayo and they charge for that if you take out. I visited Wild Ginger on March 10th. The portion size is decent and the ambience is decent. The reason why I gave one Star is due to the poor customer service. I felt rushed felt so rushed that I had to look at the time from my reservation to the time they brought me the check and it was 47 minutes. To add insult to injury we gave the waiter cash expecting him to bring back the change so we can leave the tip. They took the entire amount of money and we had to request our change back after they didn't return so we could leave a tip. The same rude waiter came back about 5 to 7 minutes later to collect the tip off the table and we were still sitting down. Wild Ginger you have to do better. read more

Wild Ginger has become my favorite place for sushi, other then run of the mill Chinese food, great duck prepared many ways. The service is truly beyond excellent as you are immediately greeted by the manager Kumar. The staff work well together and with each other to see to the wants and needs of the patrons. First time here last night. Ordered the Tom Yam Soup and the Fire Wok dish. The Tom Yam Soup was mediocre at best. They need another recipe for that. The Fire Wok had a small lobster tail, prawn, vegetables, and scallops in a Thai Chili Sauce. The seafood was kind of ... meh ... not sure if it was previously frozen or what. But the Thai Chili sauce was outstanding. Hard to imagine how a restaurant that was able to prepare such a wonderful sauce just couldn't "deliver" with regards to the seafood. For $26, not a bad value I guess. Service was more than courteous and they were very accommodating. Worthwhile trying, not sure that it's anything compelling to rush back to. read more

This wasn't my first visit to Wild Ginger, somehow I never got to post a review. Wild Ginger is quite the dining experience. The place is so exquisite and so is the food. On multiple occasions, I've come and never had an issue with my food nor customer service. The servers or waiters can seem a bit pushy but maybe if they weren't as attentive you'd complain about that also. I usually always go for the noodle options and the appetizers are the greatest. I like Wild Ginger and would definately recommend them for Asian Fusion. Lots of creative dishes, with variations on everything Asian. Very satisfying and tasty. Starting with steamed dumplings, standard appetizing choice but nothing fancy. Move onto the Crisp Sea Scallops with Mesclun Salad Miso Lime Sauce. Tasty but not spicy as the menu indicated with the little pepper next to the listing. Next came Honey Walnut Crispy Chicken and Shrimp.....Yummy! Waited 10 mins on a Saturday night, no reservation. Service was good. Better than most, but not the greatest ever. No deduction here. Last but not least, Decor. The restaurant is lovely to sit in with pretty decorations and ample seating. Downside is the noise level does tend to get a little loud. Some moments it is tough to hear your dining partner just across the table. Food was great. But what really got to me was seeing a roach on the wall. Brought it to the attention of my waiter. He picked up a handkerchief squashed it and brought it to the back. Manager came over and apologized. The only thing we got was a 30 percent off the bill. I discovered Wild Ginger through a delivery app, and took a chance based on all the positive reviews; I was not disappointed. We have now ordered from here a few times over the past couple months, and the food has been consistently good with each order. Have tried a variety of basic rolls from the Japanese portion of the menu, and so far the standouts are the California, Philadelphia & Alaska rolls. You get six good size rolls for $5-$6, which I feel is very fair. Highly recommend the eel sauce as a compliment for dipping them; it's awesome! From the entrees, we have tried the Wok Glazed Ginger sauce, the Szechuan Peppercorn sauce, and the Crispy Duck; they have all been very tasty and the portions are large. From the appetizer menu, we get the Mini Thai Spring Rolls every time, and my husband absolutely loves the Szechuan Dumplings w/ peanut sauce. The only item we've tried that we didn't absolutely love is the Pad Thai; it was a little dry and in my opinion wasn't very flavorful. Everything else we tried from here has been great; very flavorful food, large portions, and priced very fairly. I wasn't too impressed with this place. The interior looked beautiful on the internet. But when we got there, it wasn't as appealing. I can't put my finger on it but it seemed like a fake fancy, like the whole place needs to be updated. One thing for sure was that the brown paper tablecloths that are replaced after each sitting, definitely took away from the whole formal restaurant vibe, especially when you're supposed to be eating something elegant like sushi. This is the first place I've been to during covid that's doing that. Most places are spraying down the tables and chairs with disinfectant after each sitting. Why not do that to preserve the feel rather than make it feel like we're at some kids table waiting for french fries? FOOD: We started off with the chicken lettuce wraps. They literally cut a piece of iceberg lettuce and put it smack down on the plate. What does this mean? They didn't actually WASH the lettuce, since we were taking apart each piece for the first time. How do we know this? Because there was a small FLY in one of the pieces of lettuce. Seriously how do you not wash lettuce?!? We didn't complain but the proof is in the picture. From there I was honestly disgusted to keep eating anymore. That seriously ruined my appetite and then I remembered the other review of someone seeing a roach underneath the table. and when I got home I read a lot more reviews in the past of uncleanliness in this restaurant. For my entree I got the Szechuan Peppercorn with Fried Tofu. This is where the stars are granted. It was honestly delicious and the sauce had such great flavor. My mother also very much liked her Japanese eggplant dish. One weird thing was they brought the rice for both dishes, my mom's and mine, on the same plate. Are you trying to save dishes to wash? They should be brought in 2 separate bowls especially if one scoop is white rice and one scoop is brown rice. Lastly, I got a tuna avocado roll since I was really craving sushi. I was pretty disappointed when it arrived at the table. I couldn't believe how puny the roll was. Not to mention how sparse they were on the rice. Literally like a single layer of rice grains on the roll.. look at the picture. Also can you see how sloppily made it looks? Why are all of the pieces of tuna and avocado not properly aligned in each piece. On the way out I took a quick look at who was behind the sushi counter, and it looked like a few teenagers. What happened to the chefs in the white coats and hats that are in some of the old pictures from 2017. I bet my sushi would have looked a lot better had they made it. Also the ginger wasn't completely fresh. Some of it was turning brown. And it didn't taste fresh. Each of the dishes came extremely fast to the table. The appetizer I would say maybe within 5 minutes and the entrees maybe another 7 minutes after that. I mean, it's nice when food comes fast and you're not waiting for 45 minutes but when it's THAT fast, It makes you question if it was just sitting there all day and all they did was heat it up. Which is my guess. Overall, the entire time I felt a slight uneasy vibe as if something was off about the entire restaurant that I wasn't quite picking up. No I would not return. And the next time I need to read the reviews more in depth before choosing a place. The most recent ones are good but there are a lot of negative ones pertaining to the dirtiness and a few of their subliminal racism, which hey I'm not saying is true or not since I didn't have any experiences like that, but when more than one person writes about it, it makes you think. read more

Usually I'd give this place 5 stars. I've been many times over the years but... I've ordered from here twice in the past 2 months. Both similar orders but not the same. The first order the shrimp was bad. Tiny and not flavorful- so much so that I actually picked them out of the noodle dish and threw them away. In the ok past udon with shrimp was one of my favorites always large jumbo shrimp. My other favorite which was great is there beef tenderloin. So I ordered again the other day, skipping the shrimp udon but ordered 2 beef tenderloin dishes. Well unfortunately the beef wasn't good this time. It was cooked like normal but the quality of the beef seemed to go down. It's hard to describe it was like much and chewy. Not the high quality steak I normally get. (Maybe it was frozen? I have no idea I can't really say) The rest of the food was great. Sushi was on point. I'm wondering if they're having issues now with staffing/supply. I'm still all for supporting small businesses but spending $150 on takeout for my family it stinks to have expensive dishes like that which aren't enjoyed or worse in the case of the shrimp thrown out. I'd love to give them another chance- but may wait a bit as those 2 dishes (shrimp udon and beef tenderloin) are the ones my family loves the most. read more

The food is generally good and we have been there several times. However tonight we went and it was our first time dealing with a food allergy and we had a really bad experience. I really just don't think the staff understood. First their menu doesn't have much info on what is in the dishes. We asked if a dish could to prepared without the allergen and then tried to confirm when it came out that it didn't include the allergen. They initially confirmed and then asked again in the kitchen and said it did contain it. So we asked them to remake part of the dish and then were charged for both dishes. I had the Charashi and California roll. OMG, the sushi was so fresh and tasted amazing! The California rolls had a great amount of avocado and also tasted great. Ordered from uber eats for delivery from Wild Ginger. I got the chicken pad thai and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. The serving size was definitely large, I'm getting two meals out of it. There were sprouts, carrots, and slivers of tofu in the pad thai which add nice flavor. The nuts came on the side to ensure they didnt get soggy en route. My roommate got the fried rice and he said it was more like steamed rice with eggs and veggies, so just beware. Overall, I'd definitely order the pad thai again! read more

Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We made a reservation because of their notorious wait time but it wasn't very busy since it was early lunch time and we were seated right away. Disappointing experience! I called ahead to find out what time they were closing and was informed 11PM. We got there around 10:25PM. Soon as I entered, I felt rushed from the start with seating, to dinner and service. Sushi looked hurriedly prepared and my Sesame Chicken came after and I knew the order was incorrect, because it came a gooey mess and appeared to be General Tso Chicken. Even one of the waiter admitted it looked to be General Tso but the lead waiter insisted it's the correct dish (basically trying to pull one on me). After tasting it, overly sweet, harder texture chicken than sesame dish. Told the waiter it's wrong and he's telling me it's correct. Then he took it back to the kitchen to have it remade and basically brung back the same dish with a bunch of sesame seeds on top the chicken...really??? Then he expressed the kitchen closing and if I wanted to order anything else before I can even eat my meal. Very disappointing experience and everything felt rushed from the time I met the host to get seating to dinner. Top it off, he didn't check on us frequent enough if we wanted more water or anything. Three times I had to yell excuse me to get simple service like more water or napkins. Maybe it was a bad day but they really need to improve etiquette and proper attentive care to their customers. I was expecting a lot more from Wild Ginger. I usually love Pan-Asian restaurants. However, Wild Ginger, failed to satiate me. The decor was kind of awkward and our waitress was not friendly at all. If you're a waitress at a nice restaurant, you have to be passionate about the food (or at least pretend to be). I had the Pan Pan Noodles with chicken and shrimp. First of all, the noodles were burnt. It had a weird taste in it. I couldn't pin-point what it was, but it was off. There was also huge pieces of onion in there that could have been diced more finely. Can't say I would rush to return. I am better off paying $10 for basic Chinese food to-go. read more

Walking in I can see this is such a Beautiful classy dining venue. The entrance Lobby is beautiful with water running down the glass and a smiling Buddha to greet you. The Aviance was plush and modern and the restaurant was beautifully appointed with graceful statues, delicate glassware, and Rich Wood tones. The ceilings were beautifully ornate with round chandeliers, you could hurt your neck just checking it all out. The tables, bars and booths were all ready for the customers dining experience. Beautiful folded napkins and ornate cutlery adorned your waiting table. For the drinking folks, a beautiful large sushi bar as well as a cocktail bar is ready for your enjoyment. There are big screen TVs in back of both bars for sports watching. The folks here were just so welcoming and wonderful, I was made to feel like part of the family. No really, many of the staff live in my home base of Flushing we shop in the same stores, go to the same church. It was so cool, some of the employees came over to chat with me for a little bit, to talk about our favorite restaurants in Flushing. Everyone wanted to speak Mandarin with me I guess they thought it was unusual I understood a little. Sat at the bar as I was riding solo without Wifey this evening. I ordered a bottle of hot sake, it arrived steaming hot without delay now that's serious. Next up for dinner appetizers were the Szechuan dumplings with peanut sauce. Larger than the dumplings my wife makes, the plate of pasta was very filling and can be shared by 2. They were not hot and spicy, more peanut buttery and sweet The stuffing on the inside tasted a little bit like shumai. Really yummy was their peanut sesame sauce. The chilly evening was a great excuse for another bottle of sake. My bartender was so kind to give me the large bottle for the pricing of a small one. I'm a fan. The hot rice Brew arrived with perfect timing to pair with my fried crab cakes appetizer. Not like the usual Thai fried cakes, these larger crab patties were hot and delicious with the provided plum sauce. I ordered a large cube of Wasabi which spiced things up quite a bit. Life and eating should be spicy! I was really anticipating was the caviar coated Ahi Pepper tuna. The delicious thinly shaved pieces of tuna where melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Served on a large plate and drizzled with a Wasabi cream dressing. The vibe started heating up at the bar. My bartender was really super and cracked open a bottle of the chilled Emperor sake! He poured me a huge Rock glass shot on the house! That's the way to kick the evening off, and I also made a few cool new friends here. A few folks were waiting for their takeout orders at the cocktail bar. The common subject of Yelp came up. Who knew? Other Yelpers! So cool. Can you say friend request? We all shared a few toasts. What an amazing experience!! I was looking for a place to have a get together with a few of my coworkers before the holiday moves into full swing. Boy oh boy am I glad I chose Wild Ginger in RVC! What a hit! I picked Wild Ginger because my best friend took me to their other location a few years ago and I absolute loved the food. There was something about the preparation and flavor that I never forgot. We arrived at Wild Ginger and was greeted by a very welcoming staff. The waiter was amazing. He smiled a lot and made a few jokes as he took our orders. The drink were excellent. I had the Wild Ginger Martini and my friend had a lemon drop and everyone else had an assortment of other cocktails. My friend and I FINALLY made it here! I wasn't too sure what type of food was served here so I asked our waitress. Her name is Ching and she was AWESOME and super funny! Apparently, it's a fusion restaurant. They served Thai and Japanese (maybe more but I might have forgotten what since the food I had blew me away!).. I ordered chicken pad Thai and spicy tuna roll. It might've been just me but the spicy tuna roll tasted like peanuts?! I'm pretty sure that it's just me but either way the roll was pretty good. The pad Thai could've used more hot sauce... Should've brought my backup sriracha but it was too cold to go back to my car. it's okay though. Dessert was pretty awesome! I live in the neighborhood and have never eaten here. Tonight, I decided to stop and try out this establishment. The ambiance is nice . So I sat at the bar the bartender Sam was very attentive and his service was impeccable. I order for a appetizer spicy salmon rolls, which were very good and fresh. For my entree, I order the crispy duck . The only reason that I did not give the 5 stars was because of the lack of flexibility the crispy duck came with pineapple fried rice that I was not interested in and the only option was white rice or plain fried rice. I offered to pay and change it to shrimp or chicken fried rice , but they said you can't do it. I would hope that in the future, it will be looked at differently so that there is an option for change. There are people who are allergic to pineapple, and the options should be vast. Other than that, this was a great establishment, and I will be back to visit. read more
