[[HIGHLIGHT]]Space is light and airy. Tall glass windows looking out on to Petaluma Blvd gives a wonderful view of the goings on while having lunch or breakfast.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Between the 3 of us we had their BLT on rye , vegetarian on sourdough, and a breakfast scramble with a fun mango mimosa. Did not get the name of our server but this guy was Great! Fun , knowledgeable about the menu, accommodating-said I could relax but could not take off my shoes and engaging. Service was prompt and even though they close at two they did not kick us out at 2. Encouraged us to stay a little longer until the No Kings crowd had cleared out so we weren't fighting traffic to get home. Very thoughtful of them to look out for us like that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Highly recommend if there is another No Kings walk getting here ahead of time. It is a very comfortable front row seat to clever signs and interesting people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We had a wonderful visit - our first time at the sunny, inviting North Bay Cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server greeted us warmly, then set to work getting our beverages. The menu was full of great-looking options, including many gluten-free items. The food was delicious, and our server had deep experience, including how to please a three year-old. The portions were large, so we got to take home some leftovers. I tipped our server 25%, probably the second time in my life that I've thought so much about food service performance. Way to go, Alex! We're spending time with family in Petaluma. And I'm already looking forward to our next visit. We will definitely be back for more!

Service was great, very friendly and a good sense of humor which I always appreciate. Food was good, coffee was great and the hot chocolate was the best I've found so far on my quest for the best hot cocoa (I'd give it a 7/10 - I'm pretty picky with my cocoa) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Enjoyed a nice meal with my kid.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 7/10 will come back.

2 eggs over easy with a ham steak. A large bowl of fruit, and coffee!

I was expecting somewhat of a busy restaurant but it was actually pretty dead for 9 AM on a Saturday morning There were many things on the menu that sounded good but I'm not really doing white carbs right now so I was able to limit my choices easily. This seems like a family business and I felt right at home with a nice greeting and friendly interactions with the various staff. I ended up ordering the egg plate with ham and fruit. I mentioned that I wasn't interested in the toast or dollar cakes and my waitress asked if I'd like more fruit. I said "yes" and "thanks very much!". Although the ham was a bit bland (I should be grateful that it wasn't too salty), there was a ton of food and I was pretty full when I left. I would definitely recommend North Bay Cafe for breakfast and I would try them for lunch too!

    The food was... Just ok!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]You have to love the vibe of this place on a Sunday morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife and I visited while driving through Petaluma, so so good! I had the veggie omelet, a side of bacon and a side of sausage. My wife had the quesadilla. You have to love the food and the service here. This place is a definite when in or traveling through Petaluma.

After spending the night at Bodega Bay, my husband and I were looking for a spot to eat breakfast. Passing through Petaluma we spotted "North Bay Cafe". As soon as we walked in we were greeted so we felt welcome. The gentleman that served us was super nice My husband had the green chilaquiles which he was very satisfied with his plate. I had the chorizo avocado omelette super tasty. We are planning on bringing our son and his family to try it.

Once they used to have organic ketchup in this place, first rate ! Now they've downgraded to "fancy..." But still Great service. Great location. No downsides to this wonderful restaurant except for the Smuckers (high fructose corn syrup) jelly they serve PLUS fresh-squeezed orange juice. Wowza.

Brunch time had a breakfast sandwich on a croissant it was fresh, hot, and not salty. Other places can overdo meal size this was perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice staff and clean restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Big breakfast

After seeing photos on FB about someone else's meal from here, we tried to dine here one weekend morning, but they were closed. We tried again a few weeks later, and even though it was peak breakfast day/time, when we arrived we were the only ones there, and nobody came in the entire time we had breakfast. Let that speak volumes to you. Maria greeted us when we arrived and let us have the pick of every table in the place. we ordered a tea ($3) and a coffee ($3) while we looked over the menu. I ended up settling on the Chilaquilles ($13), and he ordered the Big Breakfast ($13.50). Despite being the only ones there, it took a super long time for our dishes to get back out to us. Once the dishes did arrive, I was immediately disheartened by what I saw. My dish was an absolute mess, and tasted even worse. I cannot believe they think they can charge $13 for this dish! Terrible. The chips were unseasoned, the beans were in a cup but were mostly water, and the avocado tasted like tin foil. Hubby's dish was greasy, heavy, and flavorless, and we both regretted eating our meals. Overall, either we both ordered the worst thing on the menu, or we caught them on their worst day ever, but there are SO MANY good restaurants in Sonoma County- how can a restaurant continue to serve food this terrible?! We left and immediately went to Stellina Pronto and tried to salvage our morning because this literally and metaphorically left a bad taste in our mouths. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway-will not be returning.

Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.

The vibe is effortlessly chill, with whimsical decor--think antique lamps, an old record player, and lots of little details that make you want to look around. The whole place felt alive in the best way--buzzing with conversation, laughter, and people clearly having a great time. We didn't have a reservation, but lucked out with seats at the community table. Bonus: the other guests were super welcoming, which just added to the fun, communal feel. We hit happy hour, and wow--it's a good one. Tons of interesting bites and a solid drink lineup. I went with a whiskey sour, my friend had the ginger beer on draft (very refreshing), and we shared the prawns, Brussels sprouts, and creamy mac & cheese. Everything was seriously delicious. Shoutout to our server, Melanie--friendly, attentive, and totally on it, even with the place packed. A couple things to note: it does get loud, so maybe not your spot if you're after a quiet, intimate dinner. Also, the happy hour menu listed Brussels sprouts but didn't mention bacon--I'm vegetarian, so that was a bit of a surprise. (It is noted on the regular dinner menu, which I admittedly didn't check.) All in all, such a fun, lively spot. I'll definitely be back for more bites and cocktails.

The coup de gras was the dessert: a slice of peanut butter and a flourless chocolate cake. Luis recommended a sangiovese for my wife and she enjoyed it immensely. The issue now is how far this place is to us but if you're in the area HIGHLY recommend. First off - the service and staff - so friendly and welcoming. And the decor - all welcoming, hip, and beautiful! There was quite a few of us so we had a lot of different dishes and EVERYONE raved about their dishes! Let me start with mine. I got the Aji de Gallina - it's a Peruvian classic dish with shredded chicken in a creamy yellow pepper sauce served with rice. This is my base line for how good a Peruvian restaurant is and I will tell you - they have the absolute BEST ONE I've had EVER. Don't get me wrong - I've had really good ones else where but this dish was PERFECT - tenderness of the shredded chicken and the sauce was AMAZING. I'm drooling just thinking about this dish!! Hubby got the Cau Cau de Mariscos - which is a stew made with a variety of seafood such as scallops, octopus, shrimp, and calamari in a hot skillet that also had a broth made of onions, garlic, amarillo peppers, potatoes, carrots, fish stock, and mint. The seafood was cooked PERFECTLY and the broth was AMAZINGLY fresh and flavorful! Another drool dish. Friends raved over their Arroz Con Mariscos - they've had this same dish at other places and Ayawaska was the absolute best with BIG fresh seafood and the most flavorful rice!! At other places, the seafood is chopped up - this place serves the seafood whole (like the shrimp) or in big pieces!! I wish I ordered one to go to bring home for dinner!! Another favorite was the Salmon Con Creama De Poro - my friend LOVED it - she said the salmon was cooked perfectly with delicious veggies and a potato au gratin on the side. She asked for leek sauce on the side which was perfect for her. Very filling dish! Another friend loved his traditional Lomo Saltado which was made so special because they used Filet Mignon, along with the traditional red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, soy and lomo sauce. It came with the french fries & rice. And he said the fries were perfectly crisp and were not greasy at all - a perfect complement to the lomo saltado! We also had a friend who got the chicken empanadas. She loved it as the outside was light and crispy and the inside had the Aji de Gallina filling! It also came with a parsley dipping sauce which really accented the empanadas. They loved it so much, they ordered extra to bring home to their daughter!! LOVED LOVED this place - and again - wish they were closer to me - but if I'm in the area this would be my go to place for SURE!! OH and I almost forgot - a few of us got the CHICHA MORADA!!! A MUST - it's non alcoholic and is a traditional, non-fermented Peruvian beverage made with purple corn (maíz morado), pineapple, spices, and lime. SO REFRESHING and SO GOOD. Am going to look for this drink at all the Peruvian restaurants I go to now!!

The potato skins were like mini loaded baked potatoes, but fluffier and easier to eat. It was super cheesy and tastier than I expected, especially with the ranch and sour cream that came on the side. The classic pot pie was a large dish and quite filling, with plenty of sizable chunks of chicken and veggies mixed together nicely in a thick and flavorful roux. Not to mention the flaky buttery crust on top. Wow, I really liked this. And my bf finished every last bite of his grilled salmon dish, no complaints. The lemon drop cocktail was yummy, just the right sweetness and a good amount of alcohol without ruining the flavor.
