We got here right when it opened and the guy working the dining area was still setting up tables but he welcomed us with a smile and waited on us immediately. He was exceptionally friendly and outgoing and made us feel welcome. The food came out quickly and was very good. Considering prices these days, it was reasonably priced for what you get and we didn't have any complaints about value for money. The coffee came in a large mug and was refillable. Very tasty. While the guy waiting on us was attentive and friendly, he didn't overwhelm us with too much attention and he didn't bother us excessively. We really enjoyed sitting there talking without being forced out. North Bay Cafe!! what can I say besides all things great! this is our go to spot for brunch Sundays after church! they have great food! the service is amazing the staff is so kind! my girls know exactly what they want every time we go and they always have a dollar bill on them to get change in quaters for their machinces after our meal which we love! I have never had a bad experince dining in. The space isnt huge but that doesn't take away from the ambiance, you can talk freely and still hear your party and enjoy yourself. if you have not gone, please do! Not much open on Thanksgiving, so it was a nice surprise to find this place open, and close to the movie theater. It's in the same building as the Boulevard Theater on the Petaluma Blvd road side. It's cute and quaint. Lots of seating. I was greeted immediately and told to have a seat and they'd get to me. It was very busy, though I wasn't in a hurry. I ordered the French toast combo with gluten-free toast. They had to have added egg nog to the egg dip, as that was what it tasted like. Loved that touch. It was worth the wait. read more

We had a wonderful visit - our first time at the sunny, inviting North Bay Cafe. Our server greeted us warmly, then set to work getting our beverages. The menu was full of great-looking options, including many gluten-free items. The food was delicious, and our server had deep experience, including how to please a three year-old. The portions were large, so we got to take home some leftovers. I tipped our server 25%, probably the second time in my life that I've thought so much about food service performance. Way to go, Alex! Space is light and airy. Tall glass windows looking out on to Petaluma Blvd gives a wonderful view of the goings on while having lunch or breakfast. Between the 3 of us we had their BLT on rye , vegetarian on sourdough, and a breakfast scramble with a fun mango mimosa. Did not get the name of our server but this guy was Great! Fun , knowledgeable about the menu, accommodating-said I could relax but could not take off my shoes and engaging. Service was prompt and even though they close at two they did not kick us out at 2. Encouraged us to stay a little longer until the No Kings crowd had cleared out so we weren't fighting traffic to get home. Very thoughtful of them to look out for us like that. Highly recommend if there is another No Kings walk getting here ahead of time. It is a very comfortable front row seat to clever signs and interesting people watching. read more

I was expecting somewhat of a busy restaurant but it was actually pretty dead for 9 AM on a Saturday morning There were many things on the menu that sounded good but I'm not really doing white carbs right now so I was able to limit my choices easily. This seems like a family business and I felt right at home with a nice greeting and friendly interactions with the various staff. I ended up ordering the egg plate with ham and fruit. I mentioned that I wasn't interested in the toast or dollar cakes and my waitress asked if I'd like more fruit. I said "yes" and "thanks very much!". Although the ham was a bit bland (I should be grateful that it wasn't too salty), there was a ton of food and I was pretty full when I left. Came here for the first time Thanksgiving morning, one of the few places open. They were very inviting the place was pretty full and smelled good. The staff was friendly, everyone inside was having a great time as well. The food was perfect! We ordered chilaquiles and it was better then any other latin food restaurants around, the kids got the hickey mouse pancakes with extra bacon, let's just say those plates were clean within the same time we finished ours. After seeing photos on FB about someone else's meal from here, we tried to dine here one weekend morning, but they were closed. We tried again a few weeks later, and even though it was peak breakfast day/time, when we arrived we were the only ones there, and nobody came in the entire time we had breakfast. Let that speak volumes to you. Maria greeted us when we arrived and let us have the pick of every table in the place. we ordered a tea ($3) and a coffee ($3) while we looked over the menu. I ended up settling on the Chilaquilles ($13), and he ordered the Big Breakfast ($13.50). Despite being the only ones there, it took a super long time for our dishes to get back out to us. Once the dishes did arrive, I was immediately disheartened by what I saw. My dish was an absolute mess, and tasted even worse. I cannot believe they think they can charge $13 for this dish! Terrible. The chips were unseasoned, the beans were in a cup but were mostly water, and the avocado tasted like tin foil. Hubby's dish was greasy, heavy, and flavorless, and we both regretted eating our meals. Overall, either we both ordered the worst thing on the menu, or we caught them on their worst day ever, but there are SO MANY good restaurants in Sonoma County- how can a restaurant continue to serve food this terrible?! We left and immediately went to Stellina Pronto and tried to salvage our morning because this literally and metaphorically left a bad taste in our mouths. I was feeling lazy this morning and decided to order from North Bay Café for myself and my two-year-old son. The service is really quick and the people were very friendly but the food is seriously lacking flavor. I had to use literally half a bottle of hot sauce just to be able to eat my breakfast burrito (which happened to be the #1 customer favorite on DoorDash). My two year old usually devours any kind of French toast. However, the French toast made at North Bay Café is with plain old white bread. They overcooked it to where it was hard and dry, and he barely touched it. Let's just say it's really hard to screw breakfast up, but somehow they managed. read more

I was in town with a bunch of friends for a wedding, so it was great that they had space for all of us to get together one last time before heading out in the afternoon. Being able to park in a lot instead of on the street was an added bonus. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered the chicken fried steak with a chai latte. My portion was big enough that my dad ate my leftovers for lunch! I overheard a couple of friends making various requests and substitutions with no issues. I came in with a Groupon on my day off. I was really surprised , because it was mere blocks from one of my offices. Another place to eat lunch. Yay! Anyway, I checked out the outside first, and the menus that were in the window, looking for vegetarian fare. I'm the worst kind of vegetarian: it was an ethical decision, and I'm still finding my way and figuring out what to eat. I'm not a big salad or vegetable eater, so it's more challenging than it sounds. There seemed to be a few things on the menu that I could eat, including one of my favorites, a Grilled Cheese Sandwich! I'm still really into the junk food, LOL, but this place has a nice balance to it. I went into the restaurant and was warmly welcomed and told that I could sit wherever I'd like. I'm a back corner with a view kind of girl, so I found a cool spot. There was a really delicious-looking fruit salad at a nearby table, and I wanted some! I asked the guy about the grilled cheese and other options as well. We discussed my struggling vegetarianism, and I mentioned that it would be nice if they had some good fake meat for us ethical vegetarians. In other words, I wanted something similar in taste and texture to real meat, especially veggie meat with a breakfast combo, so I could eat like my family members, pancakes & veggie bacon or veggie sausage, etc. He knocked my socks off by mentioning the Impossible Burger (see my Papa Mak's review - best veggie burger EVER). He also said that they were thinking on starting a Plant Based Menu (it can't be called vegetarian or vegan per se, because everything is cooked on the same grill). It was nice to see a place willing to take suggestions to accommodate more types of diners. We talked about my lunch next. They have a ton of sides, a great variety of things that you can get with your main course. I asked about the Mexican style beans from that menu, and he brought me a generously-sized sample bowl. Unfortunately, too spicy hot for me, but they had a good taste! I asked if that fruit salad near me was one of the sides - it was. So instead of junking out as per usual, with potato chips or fries, I ordered my grilled cheese with a side of fruit salad. The grilled cheese was delicious - they offer several kinds of cheese, so I got cheddar. The fruit salad was really big for a side, and the fruit was great. There were fresh strawberries , fresh bananas and cantaloupe! So good! I ate the whole thing, not a piece of fruit was left! I topped my meal off with a Mexican Fanta (no High Fructose Corn Syrup). They don't have soda fountain drinks here, but they have ice and every kind of drink you could want. The restaurant is family owned, Jorge (guessing on the spelling) told me, and this is their very first restaurant. The family greets guests, waits tables and cooks. My meal was just over $10, including the Mexican Fanta, so I consider this a good buy and look forward to returning with my family in tow. ‍‍ read more

Bit of a mixed bag. Our table ordered a burger that was excellent and the onion rings were terrific. My husband ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and salad that was nothing special. I had a corned beef sandwich. The corned beef was superb but there was barely any on the sandwich. Super skimpy serving. High ceilings/bad acoustics. High noise level.
