Yes please! Such a…read moredelightful experience. I was lucky to attend a mini retreat that lasted about 5 hours. By the end of the retreat I didn't want to leave. The retreat started out with a yoga and intentions setting session by Princess. We engaged in a few yoga moves and then we took a break wrote in our journals and as folks felt felt comfortable, shared their thoughts in the moment. This was pretty awesome because several folks ended up being vulnerable with some of the information they shared. What a way to start off the morning. Then we had lunch and socialized with the other individuals who are part of the community or as they called it the collective. The next part of the day we were able to create herbal blends that could be used for tea or added to an altar or any other possible use that we might want to think of. We were able to learn about several herbs, their properties, and the most effective way to use them for ourselves. This was pretty awesome. The final part of the day we were treated to acupuncture and a sound bath. The sound bath was a new and cool experience. Our practitioner used the chakra bowls and then walked around the room with various instruments. One of my favorite things that she had was an ocean bowl that I'm purchasing for my yoga room. It literally sounded like the ocean. We laid down on our mats for an hour while we immersed in the sound bath. I'm looking forward to participating in other retreats and other services that are provided by the continuum. If you're looking for an energy filled, however, relaxing day, this is definitely the thing you want to do. And the three facilitators were absolutely delightful and helpful. Must do will go back!!

I found Mindful and Embodied through a Groupon for fitness classes at various facilities for $20…read more The Groupon included five classes at the Mindful and Embodied studio; given that the studio is a few blocks away from my house, and in light of the terrific reviews I'd seen online, it seemed like, even if I didn't use the Groupon for anything else, $20 was a great investment for five classes here! I went to my first class last night. The space is really small (like the size of your college living room) and a little hard to find from a crowded parking lot off 600 S. But if you're like me and you haven't been exercising regularly lately for whatever reason (me = childbirth (fine, he's two, but I'm a recently divorced single mom so time for myself is a precious commodity!)), it is so relaxing and welcoming when you come in that you quickly forget it was a bit of a hassle to get there. The instructor, Natalie, was terrific, especially for an easily intimidated, out of shape, generally squishy newcomer like me. The class was not physically taxing, but nor did I expect it to be given that its title was something like "rest and relaxation." I'm excited to sign up for my next class and really hope to develop a more regular, long-term yoga practice at this studio.

You'll be in great hands with Natalie. This cozy space also provides a wide variety of classes and the instructor personalizes each session for YOU--private sessions or group classes. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

The staff went out of their way to make me feel at home, and comfortable as a "second time" beginner. My first class was the "yin" with Carina, which included sound bowls at the end... a very moving experience. I've been going regularly since December and already feel a difference in my body. Unlike the older Bikram classes with the same 26 poses in sequence each time (and I did get value from that at the time), each Ritual instructor puts their own imprint on the class, which adds freshness to each one, while preserving the Ritual signature experience. I was extremely nervous as an older student returning to yoga after a long layoff, but the instructors could not have been more encouraging, inclusive and supportive. There's something here for everyone, regardless of level. I can't recommend it highly enough. Try it! Or... buy a ten-day pass for someone you love.

I was in no shape to be doing anything, but I went in and tried because I had always wanted to do yoga once I "got in shape for it". Well, as you can imagine, that never ends up happening. Then I thought of a motto I heard many years from my sons martial arts school. "To do is to become." So I took a Yin class, long stretching poses at a slower pace, and although I struggled, I made it through. I felt zero judgement from anyone. It's dark, and everyone is focused on their own practice. So you just focus on yourself and the instructors will help you get it right with a little silent guidance. I felt nothing but encouragement while I was there. Then I took another class the following week, just to verify the experience, and found it to be completely different but just as amazing. After that, I signed up for the 8 days a month membership. I wanted to give myself some financial motivation to stay with it and go twice a week. I hate wasting money. So if I was going to pay I was going to go or I was going to quit pretty quick. You are not stuck with a 1 year contract or anything like that with the monthly memberships. Within a couple of months, I found myself running out of classes before my renewal, and I decided to upgrade. Now it's pretty much a daily activity. Each instructor has their own style and the classes are never the same set of poses day after day. So it stays interesting. I'm thankful for Ritual and every instructor there. They are simply the best people and instructors. I don't know where I would be without them and my practice, but I know I wouldn't be feeling as good as I do. At the time I write this, they usually have a 10 day unlimited pass for sale that includes a 15 minute private session along with it. If you take 2 classes in 10 days, you are already saving money over the individual classes. Give it a try. I can guarantee you this. No matter how I feel, or how good or bad the day is, I always leave class feeling better.
