We ordered 3 meals delivered last night. There is no option for No heat and we assumed since there was no label about low to hi heat that 1 was the lowest. We got our meals and the Pad Thai and the honey shrimp were too spicy for us to eat. That was 2 meals paid for we couldn't tolerate. ! order was for a child, the other for an elderly family member with ulcers. Very disappointed as the flavor was good, just cant tolerate the heat. During my visit to MN, my brother suggested that we all go to Wild Orchid because he loves eating here. My overall experience was just mediocre. He either overhyped the restaurant or it was just not on point this day. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived (there were about 8 of us) and probably one other couple eating. I ordered the pho expecting it to be something amazing, but it wasn't even "decent." It had a very "off" taste to it, still edible, but not what I was expecting. The spring rolls had a lot of noodles in it, which wasn't enjoyable either. Overall, it was a decent experience with decent service. Nothing to rave about and not much to remember. Buyer beware. We ordered our food on the phone a week or so ago, the young girl quoted us a price of $38.00. I went in to pick up the order and was charged $54.66. I was told by the gentleman that the prices have changed because of the Covid virus. If the prices have changed and the person answering the phone is misquoting, then why should that be on my dollar? In from out of town- in Woodbury and craving Asian I got on Yelp- the rest is history. I had a Hot Sour soup for an opener. It was good but didn't wow me. I ordered Curry Chicken and when the polite waiter asked me how hot, I told him VERY hot and happily the chef complied. When he came back to see how my food was he told me the chef had spiced it as a 7- on a scale of 5! Perfect! Their Curry Chicken is some of the best I have ever had- check me on this! I contacted Wild Orchid who told me that there was nothing that they could do because Grub Hub is the delivery system and they messed up the delivery. Isn't the restaurant supposed to know whose order they give to the delivery driver?? Very disappointed in the response that I received from Wild Orchid. Food was for a council meeting! We will not order from them again. They could have at least offered a discount on the next order for the inconvenience or asked if we would like to replace the order. I'm usually not given to hyperbole. I'm being honest when I say that the pho here is PHENOMENAL. Rich, flavorful broth that makes your mouth water. The pad thai is also fabulous. I go here about every other month. The service is always above-and-beyond excellent. Prices are very fair. This restaurant is best-in-class. read more

Disappointing. The service was nice people but super slow. There were four in our party and each dish was brought out five minutes apart. We had to ask for the fourth dish. It was a thursday night at 530 so not busy. My Pad Thai was overly sweet and gloppy. The chopped cilantro on my plate was past its prime, black and slimy. After two requests, they brought more to the table, but only about a tablespoons worth. My friends curry stir fry was so drenched in soy sauce and oil that she only ate a few bites. Just ate here, kind of disappointed after reading the other reviews. The dumplings were decent, but we found a hair in the Pho and two hairs in the Spring Rolls. I would be putting 1 star, but the waiter gave us our money back for the Pho and the Spring Rolls. We also waited a long time just for water and a bit too long for the food. I wasn't aware that Duc's had moved, so we ended up eating here by accident. The interior is the same. Same cheesy decorations, tables and cheap lighting. You don't go there for the ambience, so no big deal. We were approached immediately. I found it odd that the server never asked if we wanted anything to drink. She brought us each a glass of water and asked if we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. We had to shoo her away for a minute so we could at least glance at the menu. (I still couldn't tell you what beverages they offer!) We ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, special lo mein and egg foo yung. She said, "Sorry, we're out of egg foo yung. It's the weekend, you know." Huh? Does that mean you're out because you planned poorly? I don't get that. Anyway, we switched that order to sesame chicken. The spring rolls and egg rolls were to die for. Next time I'll just get the egg rolls and call it a meal, they were that good. The lo mein was also very tasty, albeit a little light on the pork and shrimp. We had lunch at Wild Orchid around 1pm on a Friday. We quickly were seated and given water promptly. We ordered Vietnamese egg roll to share, my daughter ordered Shrimp Pad Thai and I ordered the Curry Chicken lunch special. The egg rolls are freshly made and hot! They are not frozen ones, and they are quite tasty. They had a ton of pork in them. My daughters Pad Thai was very flavorful, the only complain was the shrimp was chewy and overcooked. My Curry Chicken was spicy and tasty but lacked veggies, it only was chicken and onions. Overall it was satisfying. read more

We get the spring rolls a couple of times a week and you can't go wrong!! The peanut sauce is excellent. We have also had the Pho on the cold winter days and it was tasty also. I feel if this restaurant was on University Ave or Eat Street in Mpls, this restaurant would do very well. They serve Chinese and Thai dishes (mainly Thai) We tried two dishes. Pros: The pho and the hot and spicy lemon grass chicken were both very good! Pho broth was beefy and not too heavy on salt or oily. I would compare their pho to Pho 79 on Nicollet but the beef flavor is more pronounced and hearty. Wild Orchid's spicy lemon grass chicken (menu just says hot and spicy chicken) was also very good and had a good balance of spicy and lemon grass flavor without being overly sweet. I knocked off 2 stars for the portion sizes. There is only one size bowl for the pho, which to me equates to a small when you compare to other pho places (IPho for example). As good as the pho was, it was not worth $8 for that portion (one can argue cost of ingredients, but I don't buy it). Same for the portion servings on their hot and spicy chicken. The rice and chicken was small compared to other restaurants that serve the same dish, for the same price. Honestly, the pho and entree we had were very good, but for the price they charged for the portions, we will not be back. read more

The place is clean, almost no wait time and the gentleman that greeted me was nice and polite. I had the one of the Vietnamese rice platter (Grilled Pork over rice) and the chicken wings, and it was just delicious The grilled pork over rice comes with a side salad and an intriguing It comes with a side salad and an interesting dressing, could not really get what was in it but it was delicious. The wings were just on point, spiced just right (my biggest complain is usually the salt). The flavor was so intense that I just ate and completely forgot about taking a picture lol Will explore their menu from now on and adjust my review(s) accordingly. Found it odd that they didnt offer chopsticks when binging out the bowls.The spring rolls were unevenly portion where one side had meat and the other didnt. The noodles were soggy. The egg rolls were ok but were big. The grilled combination platter was something different, meat to veggie was totally uneven. Half the plate had shredded lettuce. Stopped for the Bun Bo Hue special yesterday for lunch, the broth did not have the depth of flavor I was expecting, the bowl was good sized and the condiments plentiful. As usual the egg rolls are fantastic! My son had the Curry chicken and he like it but thought the Hot and Spicy Chicken he had last week was better. Fantastic find - true Vietnamese egg rolls, fresh ingredients and flavors that popped! Really friendly staff. Only open three months. Great for take out and close to 3M for lunch crowd. Ambience is basic and no alcohol that I could see but food was superb. My new go-to as there is a dearth of good Asian between here and the Wisconsin border. read more
