What a great find not far from our hotel in Grants Pass! We spent some time at the bar and got to chatting with the bartender who was extremely nice. My husband and I split a couple of their beers which were really good. Very friendly atmosphere and comfortable. We then ordered a pizza to go to take back to our balcony overlooking the Rogue River. The pizza I got was awesome, Linguica, fresh tomatoes & avocado. I don't often find linguisa (a portuguese sausage) and it was great on the pizza! Went well with a red wine we picked up at a nearby vineyard. We'll definitely be back!

Wild River pub owners and staff are SO nice and helpful. We were having a family reunion of sorts over a weekend that of course was happening during Grants Pass sidewalk chalk art event. A lot of the historic downtown businesses were either blocked off due to street closures or couldn't accommodate our reservation size. Wild River pub saved the day. We were able to reserve enough space for our reunion. We knew we would cause a scene as we haven't met this family member in 44 years, so it was going to be emotional....they had an area off to the side for us. It was perfect. They easily handled all our needs with multiple drinks and beers as well as food and snacks. Never missing a beat. Missed taking any pictures of the food, but the fried pickles were amazing. They are pickle spears, not chips but the breading stayed on and was crispy. Delicious. The pizzas also looked amazing, they offer gluten free crust as well, which was needed for one of our group. We enjoyed our time at Wild River pub between the food and drinks and the pool table. Can't wait to go back and sample more of their menu.

Some of the previous reviews concerned me, but I am so glad we gave this place a try. They have a good amount of gluten free items (salads and pizza). They have pool to play and kids can play with adults. They have a kids menu too. The southwest chicken salad was good and a bit spicy, the sweet chili wings were very good and worth ordering again. The kids pizza is large and enough for 2 kids to share. The service is basic counter service, but the bartender was very nice. I would have preferred a server for our table as I dislike having to get up for everything you need. But we would still come back and eat there again. The food was good and the pool table was fun for our child. This is a great place to host a large gathering as they have a big room to host a party. Otherwise the ambiance is a bit dark in the regular bar area, but fairly normal for a bar. The one downside is that the salad size is way too small for the price.

Great pizza. Ask for it to be cooked well in order to get a crispy crust. Good beer as well, enjoyed the light beer.

Have to go here. Great place to take out-of-towners to give them a good meal with great beer. Wild River is a Grants Pass classic.

The cashier was nice and had good energy. I ordered a burger and my husband got the spicy chicken sandwich. The burger was pretty good, just a standard smash patty with a potato bun. The fries were pretty good as well. I will say the house made ranch was a little bland. The chicken sandwich was good as well. Nice crisp to the patty and good spice.

There's a cool wood-fired oven for pizza, which was a fun process to watch. I ordered the patty melt, which is something I never order, but I was in a rush to decide & did one of those, "I'll have what he's having" things when my husband ordered his patty melt. We're big seltzer water people, so when we went to order a seltzer and the lady told us it was free and self-serve, I was elated. The food didn't take very long & it was tasty looking! The sandwich was cut in half with smashed burger meat overflowing past the bread. It was glorious. The part of the plate that wasn't dominated by melty goodness was filled with with well-seasoned and crisp homemade fries. I could smell how delicious everything was the moment the moment the plate was set down in front of me. Flavor & texture of all the things exceeded expectations. The patty melt had layers of crispy fried onions that made for a lovely and tasty first-bite surprise, & continued to bring joy with each subsequent bite. Every there was incredibly nice and friendly. Dining there was so easy and lovely. Would love to come back the next time we pass through!

Happy Hour Wednesday to Sunday 2pm-6pm ($4 pints during HH) I had the toasted coconut chocolate porter, shared the dough bites off the HH menu along with the ahi entree and tiramisu cheesecake with my lady. All were very tasty. Nothing leftover! Plenty of large tables for groups and a family friendly vibe Will definitely stop by again in the further if timing of my next road trip works out to do so.

Host staff was very hospitable which is always a plus upon arrival. HH was happening when we arrived so we chose the herb dough bites off that menu, along with 2 house chardonnays. Dough bites were underwhelming to say the least. Some were hard and some were soft and chewy. They were served with a grainy Dijon mustard and some sort of an aioli sauce. Marinara sauce would have been more appropriate. On to the entrees. I chose the ahi tuna salad and my hubby went with a basic burger. His opinion ... just a burger. Fries were fresh and yummy. My ahi tuna salad came with passion fruit vinaigrette and unfortunately it was super tart and not good at all. Make sure to have them give you a taste before you commit. I asked for a side of balsamic dressing but unfortunately the passion fruit one was already overwhelming it. I know not to order seafood in bar and grill but I thought I was safe with it incorporated in a salad. My advice ... stick with the basics ... beer and a burger !!!
