My boyfriend and I had a great experience here! The salsas were definitely the highlight. For $5 you get 3 of their specialty salsas. The Wild Salsa (habanero, onion, garlic) is great. Seems mild at first, but the spice creeps up on you! The Grilled Pineapple Pico was a fresh and tasty way to cool down the heat. If you're not ready to get adventurous, their house salsa they bring to the table is excellent on it's own. The chips are fresh, thin, and crispy. The Sonoran Enchiladas were the best I've ever had. Yum! My boyfriend got a few tacos. They were tasty, but a bit small, even for street tacos. To drink we had regular margaritas which were very good, so I'm sure the flavored ones are amazing. I was also very impressed with our service. Juan was attentive and helpful, but not in annoying way. In addition, he was very passionate and knowledgeable about the food. To top it all off, he kindly packaged up our leftover salsas for us, and even threw in extra house salsa and chips! We will definitely be returning for some more Wild Salsa! read more

Great place if you live downtown! I'm a big fan of the street style tacos and the cup of corn. Inexpensive dinner place, but still a great place to go on a date (there's tv's in the corners so you can take a girl to dinner and still catch the game). I've been to this place three times. The first two times, the food was pretty good, although I had to wait 20 minutes longer than they said it would be, when I ordered carryout the second time. The third time, I went with my girlfriend to dine in. They said it would be a 30 minute wait for a table, so we ordered carry out, which they said would be 15 minutes. We came back in 15 minutes, and went to the bar for our food, but it was not ready yet. We proceeded to wait for over 30 minutes longer before our food came (around 50 total minutes). When the food finally came out, I was very skeptical that it had actually just come out and would still be warm. I voiced this concern to the man who brought us our food, and he assured me that it had just come out. When we got home (hotel five minute walk away), sure enough, the food was ice cold and terrible, and all the chips soggy. I called the restaurant to explain the situation, and the manager told me he would send me an email with a credit for the meal to use the next time I came in. I never received this email, and will not return to this place. read more

The food was good and service was great. The biggest problems I had with this place is they don't serve regular tea and the amount of food. It was some flavored peach crap. I wanted sweet tea and was told it was peach tea. When I said regular iced tea would be fine, I was told that peach tea was the ONLY option. What the hell kind of eating establishment in Texas doesn't serve regular sweet tea?! I ordered 3 beef barbacoa tacos and as soon as they came out my first thought was, "Where's the rest of it?" The meat tasted good, but the amount of meat in each super small tortilla I think would have fit in about two tablespoons. I ended up having to make a sandwich when I got home. I also ordered two Capt n Coke. I didn't realize until we got the bill that they were $10/drink. Drinks are not that expensive in California. First off, the green salsa is amazing. I'm not even a fan of cilantro, and it was definitely cilantro based, but it was good enough that I could overlook that and I even took some to share with my wife. The queso was so-so. Which was surprising. Based on what the salsa tasted like. I don't usually get fajitas but my boss recommended them so I absolutely had to get them or get fired. They were some of the best fajitas I've ever had in my life. The chicken was not little thin strips, it was big pieces of perfectly seasoned fajita chicken. My only complaint would be that things were a little salty. But I guess that's why it's good. Highly recommend. read more

It was my first time as a new customer. The food was Ok, but my two star are for customer service. We had a preferred @parkplace rewards to receive a margarita pitcher with an order of any two entrees. Before we had to pay, the manager tells us that we have to order food worth 50$ as it doesn't make sense to give us the pitcher for free if we are not paying a minimum of 50$. Told him the reward did not specify an amount and it only said two entrees (seems he is making this up, as he says that parkplace are not paying for the pitcher themselves). This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had! Where do you go, ask for rice, Mexican rice and they give you rice with puréed cilantro! Downtown Dallas eats are still new to me but this place will get a return visit from me. I love the drinks both alcoholic and non - the Fresca was amazing. They have so many different salsas and made the best chicken torta i have ever had. Visiting from AZ for a work trip...wow, I sure loved Dallas!! Went to this restaurant twice because the salsa is absolutely amazing. I've never had salsa like this place offers. To. Die. For! Had the taquitos one night, they were pretty good, very crispy. Tried the enchiladas the other time...good, but he sauce was a little sweet for my taste. I was surprised that the food didn't come with rice and beans, considering the prices of the food. I'd say the average price was about $11-$13 per plate. You literally got 2 enchiladas in an oval bowl for that price. Or 4 taquitos. Odd. We also had the same waiter twice. He was extremely slow. Didn't check up on us; we'd have to wait for him or wave him down. Place wasn't really that busy either day so I found that a little irritating. Both days we had to wait over 15 minutes for him to even get back to us so we could pay our bill, and we had meetings to go to. Overall we liked the place, the drinks were good, and it has good ambiance. With a few tweaks it could be great. I'd def recommend you go, at least for the chips and salsa and drinks. read more

While the food was very good, the service was terrible. We had a reservation and was shown to a table stuck in a corner which was not big enough to hold 2 drinks. When we asked to change tables, it seemed like this was a hassle for the hostess so we decided to eat at the bar. Bad move The service at the bar was the worst I have ever experienced. Been many times; once for brunch, lots for lunch, drinks, dinner. The food is excellent, though the service is generally mediocre at best. I overlook it for the quality, & particularly for the happy hour drink and food specials. It's not true Mexican or even Tex-Mex, more of a modern-American-gourmet-Mex (is that a thing?), but it's definitely tasty, with a fun, laid-back yet semi-upscale atmosphere. I've been to this establishment quite a few times over the last two years. My boyfriend lives nearby and we like the atmosphere and lamb. Most recently we went last week, Tuesday, on date night (which is a good spot for dates). We usually get the leg of lamb, but we've tried other things on the menu when we're not too hungry. I am of Mexican and Tex-Mex cultures so I usually do not go out to Mexican restaurants, but this one has different enough options that I consented to go. Pros: - the lamb leg is excellent every time, feeds two or three people. 5/5 - everything else we've tried (except the enchiladas) has been delicious but I say 4/5 as it does not compare to the lamb. - complimentary chips and salsa are scrumptious. My boyfriend has come for drinks just to also get those chips. He has also asked to take the extra chips and salsa on the table home without the wait staff making him feel weird for being the weirdo that he is. - wait staff is attentive but not overbearing. - the place is also bustling but not packed. I've had to wait for a table only once and for less than ten minutes - artsy, fun, colorful, ethnic decor that doesn't assault your eyes - you can actually hold a conversation without the music blaring. Therefore, great for dates. - free mini paletas in the cooler when you exit! Cons: - Not open for Sunday when I want brunch!!! - enchiladas could use some help - TVs all over the place playing sports (not just in the bar area) which are distracting for me. I find myself staring at them even when I'm not interested. - the patio never seems to be open, even in nice weather. - the cocktail drinks are not exciting (and weak), sub par for downtown Dallas We will be returning for the lamb. I stumbled upon this place when I was looking for some authentic Tex Mex at the beginning of my trip to Dallas and I definitely was not disappointed! I went at an off time (around 2 in the afternoon), so there weren't many people there, but I still had a great time nonetheless. The outdoor seating area was full so I sat inside, which I thought was a little bit too dark for afternoon time. My waitress was really nice and helpfull as well. As for the food... the tomatillo salsa is the BEST. I overindulged a bit too much on it because I couldn't help myself :) I also ordered the barbacoa tacos, which were great as well, but not quite as memorable. I dealt with Jessica Adderley and she made sure that my event was perfect right down to the scotch tape :) They made extra room for us, the environment was amazing, the help was better than most; anything we wanted they were more than happy to give most of the time without even having to ask. Disappointment. I wanted to show my out of town family great authentic food and made a mistake coming here. The day after Thanksgiving it was slow so I figured the service would be exceptional but it was not. Me, my son, and my cousin ordered the fajitas. Now usually at any other Tex Mexico restaurant like On the Border, fajitas would usually come out to the table sizzling hot and smoking. These however were not. We were extremely disappointed and all agreed that the food might have tasted better if it was not so cold. Staying in downtown Dallas a week ago and we were so disappointed. The service was okay, but very slow. The food was tasteless, sad to say I think Taco Bell has better flavor, and I don't like fast food restaurants. The margaritas were very good. For the $75 tab, I would have loved some better flavors in the food. Skip the food and just have a margarita. Sorry Wild Salsa I would have loved to give you a better review.
