I asked about the drinks and the waitress was very salty when she said they are coming . She then spoke only to my husband the rest of the time we were there . The food was very good . My wife and I were up in Highlands today. Needing some lunch with our standard poodle along. We found your place by a reference from some locals. Loved everything about it, the food, and the service were excellent! The waitress even brought out a clean bowl of water for our dog. (I thought she was going to take his order). Great location tucked away downtown. Within walking distance of our hotel; Park on Main. Fun menu with an amazing wine selection. We were out celebrating my birthday and our anniversary but our waitress was anything but friendly. She was so militant that by her third stop be we went ahead and ordered because we were clearly holding up her flow. I'm the type of guy who would rather see one thing done right than see ten things done wrong. I just am. This restaurant features a simple but well crafted menu, and its dishes are consistently solid. The sweet potato chips here are simply delicious, and the soups I've had here (as well as the pilafs) are full of good flavor. Great ambience, too, AND friendly service EACH AND EVERY TIME. Had to cancel a reservation due to Covid. The manager berated me blaming me for not calling earlier. Belittled me for trying to do the right thing to protect our community. They were not forthcoming with their cancellation policy of $15 per person for a cancellation. They were beyond rude and inconsiderate. This spot is located right on Main Street. We recently had dinner with our family and the food was great. The staff is very courteous and inviting. They are offering both inside and outside sitting. Madison our server was such a delight. Made excellent wine recommendations. We had the lamb which was their night special on Friday evening and it was delicious. Their bread pudding is a must have. Ok so this restaurant has a nice atmosphere but it's on the old and stuff side. I wasn't sure about the menu at first because as I read it- I thought are we Asian are we Italian- I'm confused I asked the waiter for suggestions and for him to explain the menu so I could get a better feel of what I wanted. He was of no help boo!!! I had my husband do a walk around and we decided on the Lump Crab Filo App and the Mountain Trout and the Shrimp and Sea Scallop for dinner. The Lump Crab was good so we felt hopeful! Once dinner arrived this is where it went down hill- the Mountain Trout is by far the best thing on their menu- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but the Shrimp and Scallops- a HUGE let down. The shrimp are froze and over cooked and the sauce taste like it was meant to be a white cream sauce for paste but somehow made it onto asian ingredients ‍- again confusing! So when our waiter walked by and asked how everything was we said well the shrimp and scallops- not so great but the trout is fantastic. He didn't even stop or break he just said OH- and kept walking. So we pushed it aside to the edge of the table bc no one was going to eat it and we split the trout. A manager walks by and asks the same question so we say- we'll be honest the shrimp and scallop isn't that good the shrimp taste over cooked and a likttle freezer burnt so he say OH- sorry and walk away- at this point I'm like- what's the deal! He comes back moments later and says no they aren't- the guys on the line just opened the bag! Well shit thanks for that but of info- so we are like ok...?? They drop our check...we pay and that's the last time I will ever go there. Moral of this long ass story- there are better options in Highlands for $100 dollars!! read more

It was a super chilly day when we were in town and we wanted a cup of soup, so we came here. It didn't disappoint! I got the creamy mushroom soup and my husband got the tomato bisque. They were both so delicious! We split a chicken wrap with the wild rice salad as a side. It was all so tasty! We sat in the bar area since, over time, the service seems to be much better. Beau was the bartender's name, he took great care of us from start to finish, even when business picked up. We really appreciated how he gave details like mentioning they make their own Bloody Mary mix, and that their crab cakes were made without any breading. We shared the Spicy Bacon Cheddar Burger and Spinach Salad with two crab cakes... we mentioned we were sharing so they split both for us, which made things a whole lot easier. I dined at Wild Thyme last week. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. It is a beautiful space and I loved all of the original artwork. We enjoyed the maple brie as an appetizer and it was fabulous. Unfortunately our server seemed angry from the beginning and as if we were a bother. Two of us ordered salads as our meal and she actually uttered the words "that's all you want?" It was very awkward. We loved the food and would love to go back when we travel there again. But the service was just dismal. I know her name and would be happy to share privately. I don't want to do it publicly since she may have just been having a really bad night although after reading some of the other reviews I feel like maybe others have had her, too. Fabulous meal, but even better than the meal was our wonderful waiter. Jimi is attentive, delightful and above all has a fantastic personality. Ok, on to the food. The homemade soups are A+. We had the Veggie sandwich which features roasted veggies such as zucchini, peppers, onions and carrots with feta cheese, lettuce and tomato. Excellent! One of the offered sides was a chilled wild rice salad. Delicious! It is has a unique flavor due the finely chopped ingredients and spices. Although it may sound insignificant the glass of unsweetened ice tea was flavorful and refreshing much better than what you normally find. Overall great experience. Wow. Just wow. This place never doubts the ability to be a consistent and great restaurant. Our server, Tracy, was super helpful in deciding what we wanted. Our food came out wonderful, and we had the Caesar salad, salmon BLT, fish and chips, and the chicken sandwich. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting Highlands. Wow. This place is amazing. We came here for dinner and had Renee as a server. You must ask for her. We started the night off with out of this world fried green tomatos. She recommended the most incredible dish (the waterfall) and it is literally fireworks in your mouth with all the flavor. The chocolate dessert was perfect as well.
