Wild Tomatoes in Fish Creek is one of those places where you immediately understand why the parking lot looks like a Black Friday event at lunchtime. We went around lunch and it was PACKED with of course limited indoor seating, crowded parking, people everywhere but honestly the food made it worth squeezing in. The tomato mozzarella salad was SO fresh and delicious, and the pizza absolutely lived up to the hype. We got the goat cheese & spinach pizza with hot honey and wow... whoever decided hot honey belonged on pizza deserves a raise. Sweet, spicy, cheesy perfection. Even my four year old loved a kick on the pizza. Now for the reason this isn't a 5-star review: the service. Our waiter seemed like he'd rather be literally anywhere else on earth. We had to ask multiple times for refills, and the overall vibe felt like we personally ruined his afternoon simply by existing. I totally understand places get busy, especially during tourist season, and we also had a four year old that was starving and was quiet about it with us so we weren't expecting royal treatment, but good service and a friendly attitude really do change the whole experience. The food? 10/10. The atmosphere? Cozy chaos. The waiter? Needed a snack, a nap, or maybe both. Would absolutely come back for the pizza alone. It has been about a decade since I've had the opportunity to visit a Wild Tomato location. I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food, service and cleanliness of the location. We were sat at a semi-clean table top with sticky areas across the table, as well as previous patrons' crumbs. For the food, we got the bruschetta to start ($11 with no alterations). This had a great size on the dip, but lacked any flavor other than the mascarpone which was overwhelming. This was also accompanied by 4 small slices of crostini which left us wasting half of the dish. Photo 2 The pizza we ordered was the Margherita ($27 with no alterations). This did have a lot of burnt, not charred, crust for about 50% of the pie, as well as a pretty burnt under carriage which I had forgotten to get a photo of (that part is on me). The sauce and topping were great however. Photos 1&3 I also did have to use the restrooms at one point, which had a restaurant towel wrapping the water pipe to the toilet, clogged toilet, no hand soap, and no paper towel. The gentleman that was the host was nice, but the wait staff never checked in for any refills or if anything was needed after we put in our order. Originally sat outside but I was seated at the only table without an umbrella so I moved to the small inside bar area instead after the drizzling started. Andrew and CJ were my servers. They were great and accommodating. Order: I ordered the gfree fun guy pizza alongside a Greek salad. The salad was perfect and HUGE. And the flavors of the fun guy did not disappoint...white garlic sauce, spinach and 5 types of mushrooms. Yay! Lots of food means lots of leftovers. This place is a favorite and also allows for takeout but you need to go to the back of the restaurant - there's a certain area for to go orders. The young staff was rowdy, helping themselves to beverages/beer out of the tap, making belching and fake puking noises, and not very aware of their surroundings. Our waitress was sweet and gave us a sympathetic look as the other staff continued to goof around. We were annoyed throughout our entire meal. Observed similar behavior in the outdoor seating area when we went to leave. We'd recommend the food, but consider carry out if you want to avoid the immature staff. It came highly recommended by all the locals and every time we passed by it there were cars in the parking lot. We arrived around 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon for a late lunch and there was already a pretty good crowd. The weather was really nice so we chose a table outside. The dip was amazing. It was like no other spinach and artichoke dip I've ever tried. It had tomatoes in it and was so good. By the time I had finished my appetizers I didn't think I could eat anything else. That was until my burger arrived. I ordered the Cowboy Burger (Organic grass fed beef, cheddar, bacon, onion strings and a side of BBQ sauce) with a side of vegetables and hummus. Our waiter was very friendly and he provided fast service. To start, we both ordered cocktails- the Hibiscus Lemonade and the Sangria, both were tasty and refreshing. For an appetizer, we ordered the Greek Salad and it was big enough to share between the two of us girls. It was delicious and just what I expected for a well-made Greek salad (I love pepperoncini). For dinner, we shared a small Paisano pizza and it was amazing and really flavorful. I loved the pesto and soppressata. My only complaint is that there were multiple small, black hairs on the slices my friend ate. I was grossed out when she discovered them but the pizza was too good, so we both continued to finish it. We had a great carry out experience at this location during our visit to the area. We had searched vegan on Yelp knowing that I had to be dairy free. I loved seeing this pizza place pop up as an option because they offer vegan cheese toppings. They also have a great selection of salad! We ordered a vegan margarita, pizza and paired it with the cherry pecan chicken salad. The salad was especially delicious! They have a handful of picnic benches back by the carry out shelter behind the dining building. It's quite the smart set up and they are very busy on the weekends. Our visit was just before the summer rush, so we were able to get a seat fairly quickly. Seating is mostly outdoors on picnic-style benches, though there is some seating indoors. Service was fairly quick, pretty normal for pizza. (We ordered some beer and wine, too, but as of this moment, I can't remember which ones.) Looks like staff was sort of rushing to get things settled around there but we ended up ordering the parmesan "knots" which were not knots. They just fried pieces of dough and topped it off with Parmesan so that was disappointing. I looked at other photos and what we had were definitely not knots. As for pizza we went with a Hawaiian pizza. It was good but not the best. Definitely huge slices, lots of cheese and wish the ham was caramelized a bit instead of it being cubed raw ham on top?
