Wild Tomatoes in Fish Creek is one of those places where you immediately understand why the parking lot looks like a Black Friday event at lunchtime. We went around lunch and it was PACKED with of course limited indoor seating, crowded parking, people everywhere but honestly the food made it worth squeezing in. The tomato mozzarella salad was SO fresh and delicious, and the pizza absolutely lived up to the hype. We got the goat cheese & spinach pizza with hot honey and wow... whoever decided hot honey belonged on pizza deserves a raise. Sweet, spicy, cheesy perfection. Even my four year old loved a kick on the pizza. Now for the reason this isn't a 5-star review: the service. Our waiter seemed like he'd rather be literally anywhere else on earth. We had to ask multiple times for refills, and the overall vibe felt like we personally ruined his afternoon simply by existing. I totally understand places get busy, especially during tourist season, and we also had a four year old that was starving and was quiet about it with us so we weren't expecting royal treatment, but good service and a friendly attitude really do change the whole experience. The food? 10/10. The atmosphere? Cozy chaos. The waiter? Needed a snack, a nap, or maybe both. Would absolutely come back for the pizza alone. This is THE place to get your pizza in door county. Originally sat outside but I was seated at the only table without an umbrella so I moved to the small inside bar area instead after the drizzling started. Andrew and CJ were my servers. They were great and accommodating. Order: I ordered the gfree fun guy pizza alongside a Greek salad. The salad was perfect and HUGE. And the flavors of the fun guy did not disappoint...white garlic sauce, spinach and 5 types of mushrooms. Yay! Lots of food means lots of leftovers. This place is a favorite and also allows for takeout but you need to go to the back of the restaurant - there's a certain area for to go orders. I arrived at the Fish Creek Wild Tomato with hope and left full but agitated. We chose to be seated inside, it was a Friday afternoon (6/12/26) at 4 pm. The young staff was rowdy, helping themselves to beverages/beer out of the tap, making belching and fake puking noises, and not very aware of their surroundings. Our waitress was sweet and gave us a sympathetic look as the other staff continued to goof around. We were annoyed throughout our entire meal. Observed similar behavior in the outdoor seating area when we went to leave. We'd recommend the food, but consider carry out if you want to avoid the immature staff. I dined on a wonderful pizza and a small Greek salad on the patio for lunch at Wild Tomato at Fish Harbor while on vacation in Door County. Service was quick and the food brought out promptly. My Hot Honey pepperoni wood fired pizza was on point with the ingredients especially the goat cheese jalapeños I had added as well. The small Greek salad was a perfect app for my pizza. It came highly recommended by all the locals and every time we passed by it there were cars in the parking lot. We arrived around 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon for a late lunch and there was already a pretty good crowd. The weather was really nice so we chose a table outside. The waitress was super friendly and brought us menus and our drinks right away. You can't visit Wisconsin and not try Wisconsin Cheese curds so of course we got an order of them to start us off. These were great! We also ordered the Spinach and Artichoke bread. I loved that everything on their menu could be made gluten free. I got to enjoy it on gluten free bread. And it was good bread too! The dip was amazing. It was like no other spinach and artichoke dip I've ever tried. It had tomatoes in it and was so good. By the time I had finished my appetizers I didn't think I could eat anything else. That was until my burger arrived. I ordered the Cowboy Burger (Organic grass fed beef, cheddar, bacon, onion strings and a side of BBQ sauce) with a side of vegetables and hummus. Their hummus was so good and the burger was fantastic. Everyone was thrilled with their choices and none of us could finish everything we ordered. They're actually known for their fire grilled pizza. I was really surprised at how well I liked the pizza. I wasn't really expecting much when my friend suggested it but it was delicious. Wild Tomato is a popular restaurant amongst tourists and so, of course, I had to take my friend there for our Door County girls trip! We got to the restaurant around 2PM on a Thursday and were seated right away. (Last time I went to Wild Tomato, I waited over 40 minutes before being seated.) Our waiter was very friendly and he provided fast service. To start, we both ordered cocktails- the Hibiscus Lemonade and the Sangria, both were tasty and refreshing. For an appetizer, we ordered the Greek Salad and it was big enough to share between the two of us girls. It was delicious and just what I expected for a well-made Greek salad (I love pepperoncini). For dinner, we shared a small Paisano pizza and it was amazing and really flavorful. I loved the pesto and soppressata. My only complaint is that there were multiple small, black hairs on the slices my friend ate. I was grossed out when she discovered them but the pizza was too good, so we both continued to finish it. The wait time when we arrived was about 1hr and 10 minutes, which was alright since they had some nice picnic tables outside to wait at. When we got seated our order was taken pretty fast (something we appreciated) and the food also came out super fast, which definitely made up for the wait. While the food itself was pretty good, I wouldnt quite say it was exceptional. Also, our table wasnt super well cleaned when we were seated, and many chairs had food or an abundance of crumbs on them. The dining area is somewhat limited, with a few tables and chairs, if I had to guess, probably no more than 30-people can fit in there. We ended up eating at the bar, which from what I can tell, offer several beers on tap. The server was great. We ordered, from her recommendation: The D-LUX pizza. It had sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, red and green peppers with extra cheese. Get the small for $23 or the large for $27. Like I mentioned, one of the best pizzas I ever had. The ingredients were great, cheese creamy, and the crust fluffy. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located out the door, go toward the back of the restaurant. There is a single-person men's and women's bathroom. We had a great carry out experience at this location during our visit to the area. We had searched vegan on Yelp knowing that I had to be dairy free. I loved seeing this pizza place pop up as an option because they offer vegan cheese toppings. They also have a great selection of salad! We ordered a vegan margarita, pizza and paired it with the cherry pecan chicken salad. The salad was especially delicious! They have a handful of picnic benches back by the carry out shelter behind the dining building. It's quite the smart set up and they are very busy on the weekends. On a recent trip to Door County we made a stop to Wild Tomato to try out their pizza. We ordered the D-Lux and the Old School pizzas and a Greek salad. Our visit was just before the summer rush, so we were able to get a seat fairly quickly. Seating is mostly outdoors on picnic-style benches, though there is some seating indoors. Service was fairly quick, pretty normal for pizza. (We ordered some beer and wine, too, but as of this moment, I can't remember which ones.) We came here for pizza since it's located across the campground. We were the first ones inside the restaurant at the time. Looks like staff was sort of rushing to get things settled around there but we ended up ordering the parmesan "knots" which were not knots. They just fried pieces of dough and topped it off with Parmesan so that was disappointing. I looked at other photos and what we had were definitely not knots. As for pizza we went with a Hawaiian pizza. It was good but not the best. Definitely huge slices, lots of cheese and wish the ham was caramelized a bit instead of it being cubed raw ham on top? Fire oven cooked pizza was scrumptious we got the DLux and I loved the sauce- flavorful but not over the top. This is hands down the best pizza in all of Door County. My family visits Fish, Creek every year & I make them go with me every year because I love it so much. They have a few different locations around the area, so if you pass one definitely stop in! They have different combinations of pizzas you can't find anywhere else.
