Wonderful dinner! We split the artichoke dip with crostini and bone in ribeye. Selected mushrooms to go with it, and it also came with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. THIS STEAK! Perfectly done and delicious. All the sides were awesome. The artichoke dip was warm, bubbly and just right. We had a few cocktails and Mike, at the bar, couldn't have been nicer. I had dinner at Villaggios in Door County for the second time this year. Our server, Miguel, was very friendly and funny. My friend and I both ordered a glass of red wine, the caprese appetizer, and the Limoni Angelina for dinner. We both really enjoyed the food and the wine. The Limoni dish was lacking a little flavor and spice for my preference. I asked for a side of pesto, which they couldn't do, so instead I opted for a side of red sauce and red pepper flakes. I'm still giving 5-stars because I enjoy the food and service here and will always come back! Also their angel hair pasta is amazing! Next time I go back, I'm going to order the Villasenor again. I'm not into writing poor reviews. It's not my thing to put restaurants down. I have to be honest our visit did not go well. It started with an unclean glass and went down hill from there. We were greeted warmly and our server was very nice. The menu had several interesting items which made selection challenging. We decided to order the large Caesar salad to split. It was ok. Lettuce was limp, dressing was heavy garlic and croutons were abundant. It was served with two large chunks of bread. Serving size was modest. Wifey went with pesto infused angel hair pasta and meatballs. Pasta was fine, but meatballs were very dense and tasteless. I went with the veal scaloppini pasta with porcini sauce. Veal pieces were large but over done. Sauce was odd, no lemon flavor, no butter and a very very large serving of tasteless capers. The dish was made with no finesse and very poor presentation. Our server asked why we didn't eat more of our meal and we responded it was not what we expected. She promptly went to the manager for an adjustment which was given promptly. Our problem was our expectations were too high and execution was lacking. Spoke with the manager when exiting and suggested the staff taste the food before releasing from the kitchen. Quality control was lacking. Hint: the manager asked that we come back and try their pizza. Hint, hint. read more

The pizza was very good and filling. The server was incredible very nice. The place was half full for a Monday night. Perfect date night or even to take out a family. They had table clothes that you can use crayons on for little ones also. The dessert was alright nothing amazing. All the pasta seemed like hand made and very good. Not a heavy pasta that you would get in a grocery store. We even had a manager come over to check on the table to see that everything was alright. Very nice and accommodating staff. The food took about 15-20 min to come but that's normal. Overall I totally recommend this place to anyone. read more

Our first visit to this new location in Egg Harbor, with an updated look and menu. The transition from Juddville to here took about 4 (I think!) years, so you may want to focus on the reviews that start in Spring 2024 for your evaluation. At any rate, we had a 6:30 reservation and after a wait of a few minutes, we were seated. A bunch of us all showed up around 6:30 so they were a bit backed up. No worries...the manager took our drink orders and prepared them himself! There is a large selection of Italian wines which are generally not my favorite, so I got a martini with Italian vodka. It was great...who knew! My wife got a Pinot Grigio that was solid. For my meal I got the Veal Piccata. One of my pieces of veal was a bit grizzly, but the other was divine! I mentioned it to the manager when we were done and he said they would have made me a new one, but I told him I was plenty full after finishing what I had, so it was all good, and that was my choice. The piccata was great and the veggies tasty. The mashed potato starch of the day was phenomenal! My wife had the Lemon Oregano chicken. A nicely flavored piece of chicken with the same veggies and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were plenty for a filling meal. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a larger bar than when it was Trio, the former restaurant in this location. Service was good, and prices reasonable. Came for my birthday with a group of 9 and they were so accommodating. Our server bought me a shot and the manager came around to tell us about local bars, transpiration, and to serve the pizza. The whole staff was very attentive and kind. Specials were amazing and drinks were too. Portions are HUGE!!!! I would definitely prepare to take home extras. Surprised by the one-star reviews. We had a great meal at Villagios all around. The outdoor patio is beautiful, the server (Michelle) was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, and the food and cocktails were delicious. We lived in Chicago's West Loop near Restaurant Row for years and have high standards for dining out. This was hands-down the best meal we had in ten days visiting Door County, from the Southern door to Washington Island. We will definitely stop at Villagios whenever we visit the area again. Wow! What an unexpected surprise in this town of 350 people. Firstly make your reservation by telephone. If John Henry, answers he will take your reservation and text you a confirmation. We arrived at 5:50 PM for our 6:00 PM reservation. We were greeted by the host who immediately sat us at a table for four. John Henry came to our table with greetings and we ordered our drinks. John Henry (JH) is the manager a very personable man. He told us about his family and how they have been in the bar and restaurant business for ninety-eight years in Wisconsin. After our drinks arrived we received our dinner menu. The Stromboli appetizer was delicious. After looking at the menu the men both ordered rigatoni with meatballs. The ladies had lasagna and a chicken dish. The chicken dish was at best okay, the rigatoni with meatballs was a home run as was the lasagna. JH came by to confirm that we received what we ordered and to see if we were pleased. Excellent restaurant in an unexpected location. Both JH and our waitress Margaret were both friendly and hospitable, we all had an enjoyable time at Villaggios. read more

Food was fine but I felt it was on a heated spot to keep warm while the waiter tried to figure out what todo. Service was TERRIBLE. Took forever just to get a menu. Then forever for him to take an order and even more forever to deliver the food. Had to track down the hostess and ask her to get our check. My girlfriend and I had our anniversary dinner there and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! We had a lovely waiter, Wilbert, who was very attentive, had a great knowledge of the menu, and was incredibly warm. The manager/host was a delight and made us feel right at home. My girlfriend had one of the angel hair pasta dishes which was delicious, and I had the fish, which was so buttery and flaky. It paired very well with the garlicky mashed potatoes and the roasted vegetables. I'm hoping to visit again! The photos of the restaurant don't do it justice. We previously had two good experiences at this restaurant so we decided to take another couple after recommending the food and the kindness of the manager and waiter. I called to place a reservation the day before we planned on dining (mid week) but no one answered the phone. We decided to go ahead to the restaurant and anticipated a short wait but the man at the desk informed us we would have a 90 minute wait. I counted 3 tables of diners. He was abrupt and and totally uncaring that we chose not to wait that length of time. I was embarrassed that we brought friends to this restaurant. They will not return. We might try once more but if that same person is there to greet us we will leave. There are many fine restaurants in Door County and there's no need to support an establishment that does not value their customers. read more

After talking with the owner Kim at her breakfast cafe "Village Cafe" we decided to try "Villaggios". We were meet by a nice young man who sat the four of us right away. The restaurant had a nice darker and quiet atmosphere which was nice after a busy day of sightseeing. Our waitress (can't recall her name) and daughter came over to our table for drink orders. We ordered the Caperese bread as an appetizer it was very good. A nice thick slice of mozzarella and tomato with balsamic and basil on a crusty bread and slightly baked. We ordered Lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and two chicken cesars salads. Each entree came with its own bread. Everyone was content with their food and too full for dessert. Kim was able to come talk to us again which made our dining experience even better. The table next to us had a pizza which looked amazing so I will be ordering that next time. All in all the food the service and atmosphere hit the target. We will be back. read more

We ordered The Boss pizza to go from the bar and enjoyed old fashions while waiting for our pizza. The drinks were very good (the cherries in my old fashion were dark in color and soo tasty!) and we enjoyed the conversations with the employees behind the bar. When we got home with our pizza it was still warm, even after driving with the top down in my car and about 7 miles away. When we opened the pizza box we were so excited to try it because it looked delicious. And it was!!! We are so happy to have found a delicious pizza here in Egg Harbor because we have tried others that were only so-so. The crust was crispy on the bottom. The sauce was excellent, somewhat spicy but not too spicy. Meat toppings were plentiful and the veggies were very fresh. We will definitely return to Villaggio's. read more

Four of us dropped in on a Saturday afternoon in early autumn...tables were taken but we got a corner of the bar that we could sit around and face one another. We ordered rigatoni, spaghetti and meatballs, red snapper and a ribeye. All four were excellent. The steak came crusty on the outside and rare inside and teh fish was cooked perfectly. The Barbara Mossolino recommended by John Henry pleased even my wine snob cousin. It made for a very pleasant dinner. read more

My wife had the Gnocchi which she enjoyed. I ordered the lasagna w/ a side of meatballs. The meatballs were large, firm and very tasty. The lasagna....it was different. I expected the typical lasagna but did not expect to be in there, green peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, and black olives. No soup, salad or bread/oil come with the meal, so we ordered the baked grissino appetizer which was good. When our dinners came, they each included two large pieces of garlic bread. I would go back but find out what the ingredient's are in the meal. read more

I had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment you arrive, you are treated so very well. After you check in, you're invited to the bar, where everyone speaks to you like you're part of the family. Once my table was ready, not only was I escorted to the table, but any drinks were put on a server's tray so no one had to carry them to the table. We had a wonderful and earnest server, Eduardo, who guided us through each course. My friend and I shared mushroom caps that had extra virgin olive oil, garlic, artichoke, and tomatoes. My friend had a cesar salad, while I enjoyed the spinach salad, which had tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and bacon (full strips--not bits). For dinner, my friend enjoyed a lovely Angel hair pasta in pesto, while I loved the spaghetti in marinara sauce. For dessert, we shared the cannoli, and the coffee is out of this world. I was impressed by the service and interior decor. That was pretty much it. Though the wine pour was generous, the kitchen needs to work on the dishes I had. The Caesar salad was soaked in so much dressing that the actual romaine leaves looked they had been in soup. I never understand why restaurants offer angel hair pasta and then serve mush. The sauce was a lemon sauce and not very lemony and was supposed to have red pepper flakes but none were found. This made it very bland. I added shrimp and scallops. The shrimp were fine. The scallops were served in a fashion that I have never experienced-the whole scallop was cut up in various sizes. When I talked to the manager, he said that how they purchased them. That just tells me that they buy them from a distributor based on cost. Boy, does that send the wrong signal. The interesting thing is that this can all be fixed pretty easily. I realize that they have not been open long, but there is work to be done. read more

We ordered the house made breadstick and it was dry and over cooked, inedible and the pasta prosciutto which was watery with no flavor and the noodles in both of our dishes tasted like they had been sitting for days. This family-run restaurant is an absolute treat. Not only was the food authentic fresh Italian cuisine, the atmosphere and service was more than we could have hoped. Food My mom and I both had the Baked Rigatoni and it was so delicious. The marinara is fresh and flavorful. Neither of us even made it half way through the dish before we were full. I had a basil spritzer, which was sweet, light, and refreshing. Atmosphere What a quaint restaurant. Indoor and an outdoor enclosed patio made for a comfortable setting. The best part was the gentleman who walked around playing the accordion and serenading the diners. Great voice and spirit. Service Fast service and wonderfully friendly staff. The owner was lovely to meet and will do everything from give you sight seeing suggestions to asking if you want Parmesan on..everything.
