Wow! I already need to find an excuse to visit this cute modern pizza place again! All the staff were very friendly. We sat outside with our kids but inside was very clean and modern. We had cocktails and they were refreshing! The wait list for a table went fast, they told us 30 minutes but was more like 15 minutes. The crust was fantastic magical. I visited this past weekend over the 4th and unfortunately had a really concerning experience with what was supposed to be a gluten-free meal. I ordered the gluten-free Rosso pizza and specifically confirmed with my server that I was gluten free. At one point, the kitchen initially brought over my pizza, and when I double checked, they told me it was NOT gluten free. Their team then took it back to the kitchen to remake with a gluten free crust. After that, my dad and fiancé received their regular pizzas while mine took another 30 or so minutes to come out. They eventually stopped eating so I wouldn't have to eat my food alone, and by then their food was cold. There were also several other order issues during the meal, including the wrong salad being brought to our table after another long wait, which is not a huge deal (it was a holiday weekend and they were busy) but it felt like our entire order was miscommunicated. What led me to write this review is I'm quite certain that the "gluten-free" pizza I was ultimately served was not actually gluten free. For the next few days after eating it, I became very sick with symptoms consistent with gluten exposure, and it honestly impacted the remainder of my time in door county. What especially raised concern for me was that our server later sent us home with another gluten-free Rosso pizza as an apology for the wait times and order mix ups, and it looked dramatically different from the pizza I had just been served. The crust, texture, and overall appearance were completely different, which made me increasingly worried I had been served the wrong order. The "gluten free" pizza I had been served (in the image attached) looks identical to my dad's regular pizza (plate behind it) and nothing like the other GF pizza crusts in the reviews. I did notice this when our server finally brought over my pizza however she did confirm it was gluten-free. I understand restaurants get busy especially over holidays and mistakes happen, and I'm not trying to be harsh or accusatory. But for customers with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, this is a serious health issue, not a preference. I really hope the restaurant takes a closer look at its gluten-free procedures and communication between the kitchen and servers, because this experience was really disappointing. We visited Inland at the recommendation of a colleague--and we were not sorry! In the past, we always visited a different local pizza place (not in Bailey's Harbor), but we need a change--and this was a really great change! They do not take reservations, but since we were there a full week before the 4th, we were able to get a table pretty quickly--even on a Saturday night. They have seating both outside and in--but it was chilly, so we sat inside. The dining room is light and bright, and one can see the water, though, it is an obstructed view--and really, were were there for the pizza. We first ordered the Simple Salad. The salad is really simple, but oh.my.god--the lemon parm dressing was SO GOOD--and I'm not so much a throw-a-ton-of-dressing-on-my-salad kind of person. We had leftover dressing and we took it back to cottage where we stay ("home" for the week). Our server also wrote down the ingredients so I can try and replicate it at home (the actual place where we live). We ordered the organic red sauce + mozzarella pizza and added roasted oyster mushrooms on half and castelvetrano olives on the whole thing. I mention this only because they didn't blink at all with our requests. In fact, they were great about that sort of thing. The first glass wine my server suggested I order, I didn't care for. She just got me a different glass of wine--and that was what we were charged for. More about that pizza--it was SO good. The olives added a nice salt, mushrooms were just perfect in that they provided that sort of meaty, non-meaty taste. Oh, and the crust--good god it was good. Not too thick or thin, dusted a bit with cornmeal on the bottom, light, but good chew. It was just perfect. Oh, and the water dispenser--on the bar, one serves themselves from a tap. They have three different kinds of water--still, sparkling, and one other that I cannot remember. Love that. The services was also, as I mention above, really attentive, but not pushy at all. I only have one suggestion for them. Many of the pizzas have sausage on them. We don't eat pork (not kosher, just appreciate the fact that they're smarter than the dog). It would be nice to have chicken as an option. We definitely visit them again when we're in Door Country again. read more

Beautiful, welcoming restaurant with excellent vegan, GF options! The staff was so kind when we arrived. Even those in the open kitchen greeted us. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The food was exceptional. We were so appreciative of the GF crust. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. There are some great non-alcoholic drink options. I loved this place! The price is crazy - but it is worth it!! The sourdough crust did not go wasted, not one scrap lol. They have very interesting flavors. Came here for dinner. The reviews for this place were amazing and many said they offered GF pizzas. We sat down and the server asked right away for allergies. I mentioned I was celiac/GF and she said oh that's easy to manage. She mentioned they have dedicated prep areas and ovens for the pizza. I ordered a spritz and we shared a build your own cheese and caramelized onion and sesame. It was delicious. The service was fantastic. We had a great experience with Mary Kate (waitress) at Inland. The soppressata and the mushroom + lemon (add sausage) pizzas were incredible. We're not big into ranch, but their homemade ranch was suggested and it was so tasty with super fresh dill and perfect for dipping the crust in. The drinks (and selection) were top notch. The even had a really good cannonau, which seems to be rare. Friendly staff, somewhat acoustically-controlled environment, and a tasteful, minimalist aesthetic. Plenty of parking between the lot and the street parking. You can see the lake from the restaurant. We were so glad to find this spot and that it was open in the off season. THE BEST GLUTEN FREE CRUST! I've eaten gluten-free for years now, this is the best gluten-free crust I've ever had. It's not just "good for being gluten-free", but genuinely would not know the difference. And the pizza held its shape and you can actually pick up the slice and eat it! No eating half of it first and then being able to pick it up. This pizza will be living in my dreams rent free. Also got the carrots which were really good and had a different/unique flavor. The pizza was excellent. We also had the kale salad which I enjoyed but my friend wasn't a fan of. Friend ordered the meatballs and said they were a 10 out of 10. You order at the host stand and they'll give you a number and bring your food out. You get your own water and drinks. Honestly I thought that was strange based on the price point of the food and the amount of waitstaff just kind of hanging around. Outdoor tables are close to traffic, so, noisy & not for kids. And, one pizza plus a starter or salad is enough for two people. Details: After a family lunch here on a Thursday in June, Inland is now a required part of every Door County vacation. Here's what we ordered: MUSHROOM AND LEMON: OMG, where has this pizza been all my life? OLIVE AND CHARD: very tasty! We would have enjoyed it more if the chard had been chopped. There was a tendency for the chard leaf to act as a raft to move all the other toppings off the pizza. INLAND SAUSAGE: because all our other pizzas were vegetarian, this pizza felt heavy and greasy. Also, so much fennel. Would not order again. MARGHERITA: A nice plain pizza for dubious folks. SAFFY: A fabulous combination, but too hot for me. Other family members were happy to eat my share. Inland Pizza, located on Highway 57 in downtown Baileys Harbor, has, in our estimation, leapt to the top of the heap as the finest pizza restaurant in northern Door County. Yes, they have become that good in just the few short months that they have been open. Inland specializes in sourdough pizza. I don't even like sourdough bread, but, wow!, do I love their sourdough pizzas‼. They serve a kale salad. I don't like kale at all, but, again, wow! - their wilted kale Caesar salad is to die for. They also offer a spiced carrot appetizer which has to be ordered. Yes, it is that good with pita bread and a yogurt based schmear. The pickled carrots should be more bite sized, but that is a small complaint. A winter burrata bowl and a marinated olive appetizer are also offered. Inland offers five basic pizzas, and we ordered the burrata Margherita pizza. Absolutely delicious! Sausage, olive and chard, carmelized onion, and mushroom and lemon pizzas are also offered along with a build your own pizza with mozzarella and red sauce. Thankfully, Inland has a nice wine list to go along with the food. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we were so stuffed by all of the great food that dessert was out of the question except for a lovely after dinner Madeira port. Inland is a partnership run by four young people, all of whom love what they are doing, and it shows. Josh Miller, who used to work at the Wickman House, is one of the partners, along with Kyle and Kristin Jablonski and Amy Starr. While Meg was our wonderful waitress, she only delivered the food and drinks. One small complaint is that the pizzas and the beverages have to be ordered from Kristin at the cash register. Please be aware that the salad portions, which cost $18, are huge and well worth the price as they will serve from two to four people. Sadly, Inland is closed on Sunday and Monday nights, which are our normal nights for a pizza run, but Inland is so good that we are happy to wait until Tuesday to get our pizza fix‼ read more

I am a pizza connoisseur from Chicago and put Inland's sourdough pizza on par with Chicago's best! Our group of 10 had 4 pizzas and 4 salads. The pizzas reminded me of Robert's in the Gold Coast, with perfect crust, chew, and cook, plus, the variety and creativity of toppings. We enjoyed the Saffy, Margarita, San sausage. Did I mention that the salad were even better than the pizza. I am currently trying to replicate the Kale and squash salads. The marinated olives, the squash salad, which I could eat over and over again and finally the lemon mushroom pizza. Service was perfect and attentive. Who would of thought after all these years the best pizza in the Midwest is in a little town called Bailey's Harbor in Door County Wi? When I go to tourist places I never expect the food to blow me away. I have found that the "Fancy" restaurants spend way more money on the front of the house and not the food. Why go to a restaurant: for the ambiance? For the 'experience'? or 'to see and be seen'? I go for the FOOD. Inland's pizza is a sourdough crust and let me tell you that the structure of the pizza is amazing. What the $#^=* you talking about the 'structure' of the pizza?! Cracker crust with good topping hold together well but taste like eating matzo; wood fired crust with amazing topping but is soggy in the middle with topping sliding off while still having a great charred crust. How can we get the best of both world's? Good crust and good toppings that don't destroy the integrity of the pizza, welcome to Inland's pizza. The menu is small with salads and pizzas, like 4 choices each; that is a great sign and I can confirm after going there twice in 24 hours.
