The service was quick and friendly. We started off with potato pancakes, they were very good. Then we got the family style chicken it came with potatoes, stuffing, cranberries and cole slaw. It was delicious. Everything was really good, hearty, plenty! The only thing missing was a vegetable. It came with coleslaw and salad bar was offered for an additional $5, but some nice green beans, carrots or broccoli would have really completed the meal. We had banana cream pie to finish. Friendly service. Food comes out very fast. We ordered appetizers, salad bar and dinner. By the time we returned with salad our appetizer and dinner were on the table. (This caused me to remove a star) Appetizers should be served before the meal. In my opinion this is not a place to dine as they obviously want to turn tables. This is a 3.5 review; however, I won't give a 3 star because of Yelp refusing to allow for more accurate ratings. We were visiting Door County and wanted a supper club experience. Depending on the season, availability of restaurants can be somewhat limited. We decided on The Mill, made a reservation and gave it a try. There is a private parking lot. As it was a little after 5 PM, it was surprisingly sparsely filled. We entered the dancehall style dining room and were immediately seated. The dining room lacks any of the ambiance you would get if you first sat in the bar area of the restaurant (which looked good). Our waiter for the evening was attentive and did his best to provide us with a good dining experience. If some of his attentiveness had continued in the kitchen, there may have been a true four star review. The drinks, mostly old fashioned orders, were very good. The salad bar was small but fresh and well appointed. The buns were warm and seemed homemade. Overall, the food was okay; not bad and not great. The prime rib diners felt the piece of meat had flavor but was not cooked to order (slightly overcooked). The full rack of ribs was tasty and was well proportioned. The chicken Alfredo came to the table without any chicken and was without creaminess and flavor. The shrimp were overcooked.Baked potatoes were not fully cooked and in one case were not very warm. In the end, service and drinks were great. Dining room lacked ambience and the food was just so-so. Wow! As a first time visitor to The Mill Supper Club, we had a great Friday night dinner. We had a drink at the bar and had a very friendly bartender who explained their mug program. We were seated a short time later and ordered some delicious appetizers of cheese curds and brussels sprouts and of course enjoyed the salad bar. The salad bar is tiny, but it was delicious! Ice cold lettuce always does the trick! It was a Friday night, so I thought about having a fish fry, but the creamy cajun pasta was calling my name. So glad I tried something new! It was delicious! We had great service and we were cozy in the corner of the restaurant. If we wouldn't have been so full, we would have gone back to the bar and had an ice cream drink! One of our favorite spots. Everything is good as we have worked our way through the menu. The steaks are amazing, the apps are phenomenal (the German pizza) not gonna attempt to spell it, was extraordinary. Size was very fair, but was so delicious I could have eaten two more and been very content. Bartender Ryan made really tasty drinks. Fair wait times and the wait was comfortable at the bar. Not good! I hate places that up charge for everything. I asked for a baked potato (which had been cooked much earlier in the evening and was chewy) and I was upcharged $5. Overall a pretty good experience. We stopped in a Wednesday night in October and were grateful they were open, as it's close to the end of the season. The bar was pretty full, but we got seats and settled in for an expected 45 minute wait. The bartender was busy, but very friendly and pleasant, and made a couple of very good drinks for us! We only waited about 30 minutes and our table was ready. Our server arrived soon thereafter and we got in our orders. From there, it was a bit of a tale of two meals. I got the Pistachio Walleye. It was fantastic! I borrowed some of the pesto aioli from my wife's entree to accompany it, and that was a nice addition. The red potato side was also nicely flavored. The salad bar came with my meal, and it was small, but a nice selection, with good mixed greens. My wife got the Black Bean Chipotle Burger with fries. The large mound of fries were very good, while the sandwich was ok. One side of the bun and one part of the patty were burned. She certainly could have sent it back, but she decided she could work around those parts and still have plenty to eat. They did toast the pretzel bun, and I'd recommend asking for it to NOT be toasted. Maybe just a personal preference, but I tried a bite and thought the toasting was not an improvement. Our server was a bit harried, but she was sweet and was keeping up as best she could. Things did slow down by the end of our meal (7:30ish), but it was steadily busy until then. My son, his three small children, my wife and I had dinner there recently. My wife and I ordered the rib eye steak dinner. We were very disappointed. Both were under cooked, way too much fat, tough and gristly. We ordered them medium rare and they came out rare. We're not ones to send back food, but I wish we had. Atmosphere: Old school supper club vibe. Parking lot is gravel, do not wear nice shoes ladies. They do have a coat rack inside. Bar area has about 15 seats at the bar and tables in the back for waiting. Dining room area is large and dimly lit. No salad bar due to COVID. Two stalls in the ladies bathroom. Service: Friendly but slightly understaffed. Our waitress was definitely busting her butt the whole night trying to keep up. Food: The clam chowder was the best clam chowder I've had hands down. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the walleye. Tarter sauce was too sweet for my liking and I couldn't really eat the fish, too many bones. Left an entire filet and picked around the other one trying to fish them all out (no pun intended). Pretty disappointing they can't clean a fish especially when you're spending $26 a plate for walleye. That's the most I've ever spent on walleye and I wasn't even able to enjoy it. We came to Wisconsin and just had to find a supper club to experience it for ourselves. Well my lady and I took a long trip around door county and visited so many parks and natural wonders that by the time we took our last sunset pic on the shores of Lake Michigan we realized we were starving and it was a Sunday. I used the yelp app and found many options in the egg harbor area, which were very enticing and I will be back to review those soon! Whilst looking at options I recalled the supper club conversation and found one quickly lost an hour away into the dark Wisconsin twilight. As we drove the darkened roads a full moon peaked above the tree line and hunger for a good meal rose accordingly. We open end the door an hour before they closed to find a 30 minute wait and host who promptly told us they would remain open to serve all who came in tonight! So nice to have a high level of service back after the past two years. As we waited in the entry opting to not partake of the well furnished bar area our appetite grew and we looked over the menu. Sundays are traditional broasted chicken all you can eat and all the sides! I was about get down into it! We were seated before the wait time that was quoted and were happy to find ice water in a carafe at the table for us to rehydrate at leisure. The plate of chicken I got was huge! And the sides numerous. There was cranberry sauce and a vinegar coke slaw a roll and the mashed potato and stuffing appears with a small boat of cream gravy. I dig right in and demolished most of it before sitting back with a satisfactory sigh. In summary... I won't ding it too much because it seems like a great spot. We had an ok time. But give this place a try. You may have a great experience because there were a lot of good things. Also when in Wisconsin, you have to supper club. Goods: atmosphere was local and typical supper club, which is what we came for. Loved the wood panels in the bar. The old fashioned was rated #1 and I can attest to its deliciousness. Get it and another for later. The service was friendly. They respected that we masked. The sides and curds were good. The beef and barley soup is a star on its own too! Bad: Food came out fast... but maybe too fast? The salmon my wife ordered was just ok. I pulled out maybe 5+ bones out of my mouth with the Walleye. I get fish have bones but I couldn't finish the 2nd fillet for reasons including not wanting a fish bone in my throat. To be frank the walleye was breaded and not battered like I thought, bland too and the tartar sauce was too sweet for me. Also I actually ordered the 5 piece Perch but was given 2 Walleye fillets, I just didn't have the desire to fight it when the food came out. I guess lastly we didn't even get our dinner rolls... I had roll envy watching the other tables around us get theirs. The only thing else I'll say is I wish I got the ribeye or came on prime rib night. Went on a Saturday night for the prime rib special. 2 people got prime rib and another got tenderloin and shrimp. The shrimp were billed as large, but when they arrived they were medium at best. For an $8 addition I expected more. The meat itself was great, but all the sides arrived at the table cold. They were refired but we were done with the meal by the time they came out. The risotto came out warm, and the potatoes were warm, but not cooked all the way through. Soda was flat and the salad bar was pretty basic. Very disappointed. Visiting Sturgeon Bay for the long weekend and wanted to try a few different places. Was certainly looking forward to a great slab of prime rib, but I didn't get it here. It's bad when the salad is the highlight of the meal. The beef was fatty, very tough and so salty... like the au jus must have come from an envelope. Unbelievably salty. And I shouldn't have to saw through the meat to cut it. I sent it back. Not my usual MO but it was just the bad. Others in our party also all had the same and no one cared for thiers.... but didn't send them back either... and didn't really finish it... the dog might enjoy it. Our delightful waitress offered to replace the prime rib with another cut or something else... but I was no longer in the mood. Here's the absolute worst part... the OWNER was in the dining room and NEVER even bothered to come and see what could be done to correct the issue. I thought that was hospitality 101... oh well. The worst part about getting Sunday Night Broasted Chicken to go, is smelling the wonderful aroma all the way home! Having just moved back to Door county I have not been there in a long time. But, they still got it where it counts; quality food in a Supper Club atmosphere. You know you are into something special when the whipped potatoes still have potato chunks in them and the jellied cranberry still has some whole cranberries. We arrived before 5 pm on a Thursday to enjoy this supper club. It gave you the feel of a supper club from the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed. The bartender was very sweet. My husband ordered an NA Beer and so ordered a Spotted Cow. While pouring my drink the keg ran out. This poor bartender struggled for over 10 minutes trying to get it changed. She didn't charge me for my 1/2 a beer, which was very sweet of her. We were seated shortly after this and we were greeted by the nicest waitress. Upon speaking with her we found out that she knew were we were from. She gave us great tips for things to do too. For starters we opted for the giant pretzel. It fed 2 of us for 3 days. My husband had the Jaegarschnitzel and raved about it, the sour cabbage slaw was his favorite. I opted for the mushroom ravioli. There had to have been 15 ravioli and they weren't small either. The cream sauce was delicious and light. I ended up bringing majority of it home. While we were eating they had to open up more seating. It was a very open dining area. I recommend this place, highly! It's a good fare of German and American dishes. read more

Don't go storming in and expect something you had before... unless you KNOW the supper club schtick. Get here at 4, go to the bar, order an old fashioned (or two). When it is close to 5, pay your bar bill, go around the corner and stand in line-- it's first-come-first served. If it happens to be Wednesday or Sunday, order the broasted chicken-- it's served family-style, and outstanding! If you have seen my other reviews, you know I don't give out 5 star reviews liberally. But the drinks were perfect and they only used bar rail gym, which is fine, that's what we asked for. Very bland and unassuming from the outside. I did not expect to see such a large and we'll decorated casual ambiance on the inside. Over the years we've driven by this place without a second thought. I'm glad to have finally stopped. I wouldn't make this my only dining stop if visiting Door County just for the day but a worthy consideration if you're dining out over multiple days. We visited on a Friday evening and we're seated immediately. Our server was quick to bring a carafe of water and drinks but throughout our meal failed to even inquire if we wanted a refill from the bar. We didn't, but it would have been nice to have been asked. I had the fried perch while my wife had baked white fish. My perch were excellent. My wife enjoyed the white fish while I thought it was a little dried out from over cooking. Most importantly she enjoyed it. Prices were a little on the higher side but certainly nothing outrageous for a supper club. The waitress was a bit slow on seeing if we needed anything else and bringing the check.
