The music selection was really nice and it's in a super location, but If you don't like lazy bartenders and a dirty bar I wouldn't go here.

Wow was this spot sooo worth it! I came with my mom and sister in the most beautiful day in May. We sat outside at the bar during their lunch hours. It wasn't crazy busy, but there was a good crowd around. The servers/bartenders were super nice and fast. I think our food and drinks were both ready within five minutes of ordering. They were very personable and nice. We ordered an assortment of apps and sandwiches for lunch. The fries were delicious, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. We came as four adults and a child for lunch. The only hamburger on their menu had their own house sauce and onions on it. We asked that they leave off the sauce and onions. We were informed that there is zero variation allowed. How the items are described is exactly how they are served. We politely asked to just leave a few things off like the onions and the sauce, "not an option". We asked for ketchup for our french fries, they don't serve ketchup, and they only offer their own special disco sauce. When we said, surely, you have Ketchup? " not in this place you don't." I have been to fine dining establishments that don't allow variations in their menu, or have ketchup. This is a casual eating place in a tourist town. Totally unexpected, we won't be going back. Want to forewarn other people especially if you're coming here with kids. They also don't have mustard. I heard them tell another customer. To be fair, the two thin smashed burgers on their sandwich were good and the french fries were tasty and the perfect amount of crunch. We did spend a good of our time, scraping off fried onions and sauce. I would hope over time they will gain some flexibility for the benefit of their customers. Having their own house sauce is a wonderful thing to try, however, be a bit flexible. read more

The best burger I have ever had in my life. Served with grilled onions, cheese, homemade sauce and a sesame bun. Maybe not the best place for picky eaters as there are no customizations allowed. We were in Fish Creek on a Tuesday during the late afternoon looking to grab some lunch and not much was open but we stumbled upon Hill Street's outdoor bar which looked lively so we bellied up and glad we did! We ordered an Aperol Spritz and "Painkilla" to drink which were both perfect. For food, I got the Old Man fish sandwich which was piping hot with delicious breading/flaky fish. Hill Street was such a pleasant surprise! As someone who is local to door county, I've always been a super fan of the Bayside. Yesterday, however, they treated us like we didn't even exist. Literally someone in our group didn't even get a drink lol. So we quickly cashed out and stumbled upon the cute indoor/outdoor bar/restaurant and boy am I glad we did! Visited with a friend a few weeks ago, and it was delightful. We didn't eat anything (but will definitely be back to try next time!). I've heard their burgers are amazing. Everything smelled great. We did however have drinks. The atmosphere and the vibe of the place - all amazing. This was probably my favorite place we stopped in all of Door Co. Someone is a Harry Dean Stanton fan and it shows. Bar is comfy and never felt overwhelming even when it was a bit crowded. Bartender was super fun and made a fantastic spritz! We come to DoCo a few times every year. We've been to Hill Street the last 2 times. It's rather self-serve: pick a table, got to the bar to order drinks and food, get a number. The food is good! Hubs had the burger specials both times, I had the fish sandwich and a salad. Everything was tasty and well done. Service is friendly. People sitting at the bar always seem to chat. I enjoyed my salad with the perfectly done soft boiled egg. The food here is good, however you cannot customize your order. We were told the burgers come out the way they are on the menu and you would have to scrape off the things you don't want. Just try getting melted cheese off your meat! This has been the best option for this location. It was hat head forever, then some awful taco place.. Hill Street is an awesome local gem that is open later than anywhere I know of in DoorCo. The food is what I'd consider comfort fusion.. they have hangover noodles and fluffernutters on the menu lol. It's very different but everything I've had so far from there has been good, bar snacks, drinks, meals. The weird thing here is the service.. nobody was ever super keen to help or pour a drink. They seem grumpy or unhappy maybe? Not sure, but nobody really makes you feel super welcome if you know what I mean. No servers, it's a sort of self serve place from our experience. Today, a regular that every bartender knows (we think his name is Tom or Tim in a onesie of an American flag) with a substantial beard, made a sick comment to my wife (I'll give you $20 if you drop your pants). I proceeded to say vulgar things to him, and he confronted me outside, wanting to fight me. Fucking losers... We had a dog and, more importantly, a 10-week-old child. Hill Street is my and my husbands favorite spot in all of Door County! We absolutely love the atmosphere of the outdoor bar and patio. The first time we visited it was early October, slightly too chilly to spend as much time as we wanted so we returned the following summer and it was even better. The bar tenders are great, down to earth and gave great recommendations. Their food is great; fries, noodles, grilled cheese and fluffernutter sandwich all fabulous. We'll be back! read more

Horrible experience. My husband politely asked for a plain bacon cheeseburger (saw a customer photo that read "bacon cheeseburger") and he was rudely told by the bartender, "no moderations and no substitutions." I don't understand why there are so many complaints about the "no modifications" rule. It's clearly listed on their menu and on their website. Personally, I wouldn't want to make any modifications as the food was fantastic the way it was intended to be prepared! We ordered the Old Man and the burger special - California King Burger with French fries. My fiancé still raves about this burger and says it's one of the best he's ever had. We loved that they are dog friendly and have casual, relaxing patio right in the heart of Fish Creek. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Door County. The only feedback I'd suggest is having ketchup. For a restaurant specializing in sandwiches and fries, you think ketchup and mustard would be a given! Servers were kind of snarky about it and kept showing us the menu that had all their "rules." My family and I thought the food was just ok. My meatball sub was a little on the cold side. Decent beer selection. The day we went the menu was just tacos. The chicken tacos were $8 for two and had they been a little fuller, I wouldn't have minded the price so much. It was grilled chicken, pickled onion, guac, pico de gallo, and cilantro. There was a ground beef version, too. And there may have been a nacho option. The service was good despite the crowd. We came here because someone recommended it based on the food in the interior space, but on this particular day, there was just the one menu. We loved Hill Street. We were walking around town and thought the patio looked nice so decided to give it a whirl. We parked along side on the street. The bar had a few seats open so that's where we sat, but there were some tables open with nice umbrellas. You have to order at the bar, they don't have table service! We ordered drinks- I had the Paloma and my husband had a pale ale beer. The Paloma was great! I ordered the Old Man, which is a fun BBQ fish sandwich and man it was JUST what I needed. So good, light, full of flavor. My mouth is watering again just thinking about it. Other orders in my group were the hot chicken sandwich and the burger of the day (not sure if that is on the rotation). Both of those had good reviews, and the burger was especially a hit with everyone who had it! It was a bit sloppy but so delicious. Service was fast and great- the bartender Logan gave us some awesome recommendations around town. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you want a nice, chill spot to hang out for a bit. They have a small menu full of variety. They don't make any special requests or changes to the menu items because of how small the kitchen is, just be aware of that! That was fine with us because everything sounded so amazing. They also don't have ketchup or mustard and make their own sauces in house- another huge plus for us and we had no problem with this. The bartender berated my 73 yr old father, swore at him, asked how old he was and called him stupid saying he was trying to rip off his business.
