Just over three weeks ago, I took my car into Wilder Toyota to have four tires replaced during their "Buy three get one for a dollar"sale. I had called ahead and ordered my tires and got a quote for them. I live in Port Townsend so driving to Port Angeles is always a bit of a hassle but the price that they were offering for the tires seemed like a good deal to me. I arrived and was told that unfortunately the person who had taken the order over the phone had ordered the wrong tires. They tried to find out if there were any tires in the area that they could use to replace the ones that I ordered, but they could not so I had to leave my car until the correct tires arrived. To complicate matters, I was having shoulder surgery in two days so I needed to have a car to get me to Silverdale. The service manager., Steve, not only got me a car to use to drive home, but also told me that he would bring my car back to Port Townsend and pick up the rental car. It took three days for the tires to be installed, and my car returned to me, but I can't be more pleased with the service that I received. Not only that, the price that was quoted for me was lower than the actual price, but they stayed with the quoted price and did not charge me more. This service goes beyond what one would expect and I am extremely impressed and wanted to let everyone know that Wilder Toyota is a very, very reputable and personable company. read more

Everyone was great couldn't get a vehicle in my range so they took me over to their sister store which was awesome. The "maintenance required soon" notification showed up on my 2021 Toyota Prius recently, and I knew I was overdue for an oil change and an inspection. Made an appointment at Wilder Toyota, even though I wasn't stoked about driving an hour to a dealer. Anyway - great experience! No wait at all - they got me processed immediately and then offered a ride if I needed to go somewhere. I had planned to drive to Angeles Furniture after the service so I had them drop me there. They picked me up promptly when the car was finished (a little over an hour). They not only changed the oil, but replaced the cabin filter, rotated the tires, inspected all the things on the checklist, and washed/vacuumed my car! All for a very reasonable price. So, i'm not a go to the dealer kind of guy, but ive been involved with multiple service appointments & parts buys from Wilder Auto Center. Even for nontoyota vehicles, older mercedes and gm products. Wilder has done quality work and charged much less than expected from a dealer. When there have been some minor service quality issues (every dealer has them), they were resolved quickly and at no additional expense. I think i have even met the owner a couple of times, which shows he cares. I also purchased an oil filter for my new toyota truck ($5 ish), they have me a drain plug gasket for free. I could have purchased the filter online for maybe $1 less, but with shipping, no savings. Also, purchase of parts for canadian vehicles, when they could not be found in cabana. All you need is the VIN, and the very smart lady in parts can find what you need. In my worldly existence, there are three dealerships (2 in the US) that i completely trust, this is one of them. read more

I wanted red, but I've found red cars are not in big supply at dealers--they are all out on the streets of Sequim or in grocery parking lots! I started working with Grant Williams in the Toyota division of Wilder, and he helped me a lot, but the car I needed was at the other end of the complex at the Honda section. I have a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan. I love that car, but it's getting older and needs some significant repair. Total roughly $3500. Ric from VW service, advised me in November not to drive to Eastern Washington to visit family until these repairs were made. So I haven't. On March 30th, I texted VW Service to inform them I'd be ready to get the car repaired on April 15th. The reply suggested they understood this was important to me. On April 15th I called to schedule the repair. Ric informed me that parts needed to be ordered, so he would call to set up an appointment when they came in. Having not heard from Wilder, on April 21st I called Ric, only to be told that the parts had not been ordered. I made it clear I was NOT HAPPY and that, since they had wasted a whole week not getting the parts, I now expected them to order the parts and have them fed ex'ed to the dealership so the repairs could commence as soon as possible. Incredibly, when I called on April 24th, he STILL had not ordered the parts. He was STILL trying to make lame excuses. I don't know what Ric's problem is, and frankly, I don't care. Wilder was fired during the April 24th phone call. What does it take to get these guys to do their jobs? Now I have to find another place to get my car repaired. Having my car out of commission for a few days now is incredibly inconvenient. They have cost me money and time, neither of which any of them care about. Don't trust these guys. Its great until you bring your vehicle there for repairs. Our Dodge Ram has been sitting there for NINE MONTHS! 9 months and barely any communication! I was patient for the first SIX months, I am no longer patient. We begged for communication so we could at least know what was going on! It is sitting with part of the motor on the front seat with DUST! I am angry and I will be contacting a lawyer! I would give negative stars if I could. I stopped by Wilder Toyota today and walked around the lot for about 15 minutes. Finally a young lady came out and asked if I was a service customer, I told her I was looking for a Corolla Hybrid to which she replied she had sold the last one and that there might be a used one but she thought it might have sold. She really did not seem to want to take any time to show me other options or inquire whether the used car she mentioned had indeed sold, or discuss the option of ordering a Corolla Hybrid. This is the second time I've been on this lot and the staff didn't seem to want to sell a car all that much. That being said, they definitely won't have to worry about my business. read more

Have been doing business with Wilder for 20+ yrs. Have purchased 3 vehicles and had all serviced by them. All was great until this latest experience with my cream puff of a 2012 VW beetle (except for tires) . Wilder e-mailed me a promo offer on tires. I filled out on line the details for my car and submitted my cc number. I received a confirmation back for appt. date & time, brand of tire and cost. I arrived on time for appt. only to be told the tires in my confirmation order were the wrong size. They had another brand in stock in correct size but, alas, more expensive. They claimed it was my fault for the size discrepancy. I said I know nothing about ties, just filled out THEIR form about the year, make, model etc of my car. I was kept for 2 hrs while they tried to "help" me. I finally left in disgust. After 3 days and many phone calls later, we are still at square 1....no tires, no help, no satisfaction, Their customer service SUCKS, Too bad, Wilder, your bait & switch didn't work and I will share my story with everyone I know. They may do good work on Acura's, but they don't know there head from a hole in the ground. 4 years I have been trying to get my reverse (6 speed) fixed they keep refusing to"that's just what jeeps do. They are idiots in the Jeep department. I now go all the way to Seattle, where they have competent Jeep dealership. I have been very disappointed with very visit. read more

He was straight-forward, very communicative, responsive, and always respectful--focusing on how could he best meet our needs as customers--in no way hard sell. Phillip was a pleasure to work with! Finance Manager Micki Zozosky was very helpful in completing all the paperwork, which was a bit more complicated since we financed through an out of state lender. In the past I have purchased multiple vehicles at Wilder Auto Center. The most recent was a 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie. I was told by purchasing with them, I would get expedited service should anything come up. That because I bought it there, I would move "to the front of the line". Nothing has been further from the truth. Last year I had a recall notice arrive saying that my engine compartment could catch fire and to contact my dealer immediately. Wilder told me it would be 8 months. Having a history with the ineptitude of Wilder's service department, I contacted the State Attorney General's office and within a week, I had an appointment a couple days later. This January a check engine light came on and a message that my Diesel Particulate filter was full and that I was on reduced power. I contacted Wilder, they said they could get me in sometime in June! The didn't care when I brought up the engine fire warning. This is a $74k truck under warranty.. They are no help. They lie, promise to call back, promise to get you in sooner, and pass you off to someone else. I have been waiting and it's now April. Still nothing sooner. Last week, I took my truck to West Hills Dodge in Bremerton and they got me an appointment in less than a week. They had OUTSTANDING customer service and have communicated with me multiple times already. DONT BUY FROM WILDER. You WILL regret it. Take your money elsewhere and save the frustration. So two weeks ago, I went to a meeting at Wilder Nissan, pre arranged by two of the sales people. When I got there I sat for 40 minutes. No one there, finally I got up and found someone. I had gone through Costco car buying program. No once during the meeting was the Costco buying method introduced. The epitome of greedy, price gouging, service departments. $55 for an oil change? Are you kidding me? No tire rotation or anything like that, just 4 quarts of oil and a filter. I have a 2000 Honda Civic that I have driven all over the country and had service work done from coast to coast. I am newly moved to Port Angeles and wanted to get an oil change and find a place to get all my future service work done, but after I called Wilder I knew I would never be taking my car there for anything. $55 is the highest priced oil change I have seen anywhere and it didn't include tire rotation or anything else, just the oil and the filter. I called another place in town that has four and five star Yelp reviews and was quoted $30 for 4 quarts of Mobile synthetic blend and a filter and a 12 point inspection of all the other systems. Made an appointment for a hitch install 11 days in advance, when I show up for the appointment they claimed I had no appointment and they had not ordered the part. He was extremely responsive the whole time and answered every question thoroughly. When we were able to come to the lot, he let us test drive anything we wanted, pointed out other vehicles he knew of that might be right for us, and shared real opinions about all the vehicles. He was realistic about what we could afford, and we worked together to find the right truck for my family. I felt like the whole transaction was executed with patience and integrity. This is the only option we have on the Olympic Peninsula and they are convenient and friendly. Some employees (parts) are exceptional. However, the service department (while very hospitable) runs the same repair scams as most (though not all) dealerships. Today I had my Prius serviced and received recommendations for 1. Air filter (which I did but wish I could trust their recommendation) 2. Cabin Filter (the biggest scam in the industry) 3. Tires (I have brand new Costco Bridgestone tires), and 4. Drive belt (which I had recently replaced at the same dealership, kept the old part, and could not find anyone who could or would give me objective evidence on why my belt needed replacement at the time) I so wish that I could get honest recommendations of what needed repair and the dealership could make enough money doing honest work. If I could give 0 stars I would. I bought my car there 3 years ago. I service it regularly and pay my payments early with a little extra each month. My check engine light came on last Friday so I immediately drove to the dealership as I thought I should since i know zero about cars. I was given a loaner car for the weekend so they could look in to my car on Monday. I get a call Monday from Jonathan Sanchez telling me that so far my bill was 666.76 and they needed my "permission" to take my engine apart because the code was something to do with the cam or spool valve (this spurts OIL into the cam). He quoted me ANOTHER 996 bucks and change just for the labor and they don't know if the part needs to be replaced until they completely take my motor apart. I did not have $2,000 + to get my car serviced so they said "well, you can always trade it in". Anyway, I sat there for 5 hours on Monday trying to now buy a car that I don't even want and told I can't drive my car and I can't take the loaner until the loan is secured on the "new" (used) car that I am going to buy even though I did not want to buy another car and trade my car in. Anyway, I finally left there in MY car because I was over it all. I get home and CHECK MY OIL and it has NONE. I fell as though the service department was trying to take advantage of a single woman who was feeling trapped and backed into a corner. Now, wouldn't you think that if the code pertained to something to do with OIL, that the VERY FIRST THING they would do is check the OIL???? I put 4 and a half QUARTS of OIL in my car and it is back to running like a dream AND the check engine light turned off AS SOON AS I PUT OIL IN IT. These fuckers tried to completely rip off a single woman. I WOULD NOT recommend ANY one, especially women, to buy from this lying, deceitful, greedy, fucking company. This is the absolute BEST Toyota dealership I've ever been to for service / maintenance. I live in Seattle, and usually have to roll the dice on which Toyota to go to. Magic in Edmonds? Burien Toyota? If I have time for a day trip, I'll drive all the way up to Mt Vernon to avoid the places down here. Long wait times, even with an appointment, poor service, and service writers trying to sell sell sell. Last year, Burien Toyota didn't secure "something" down there after an oil change on my Prius. I was driving along, on my way to the coast, and started hearing rustling... then dragging under the passenger side of my car. I stopped in at Wilder so they could see what was happening, and even though it was after 5, they got me right in, got the panel fixed, and had me on my way in under 10 mins free of charge. As a comparison, this happened before (but I didn't know what it was). I went to Magic Toyota and they left it loose. I heard rustling wind, but no dragging, and went to Burien Toyota for them to check it out. I sat for 3 hours, only to have them come back each hour and try to sell me new filters, then new tires, and slip in that I may want to look at a newer model. My Prius is a 2010! I was planning a trip out to Forks, and needed the regular service a few weeks ago. I called Wilder, made an appointment for THREE days later (not 2 weeks later), drove in, had my keys taken and my car pulled in immediately, and was out the door with a clean car within the hour. Did anyone try to sell me anything? No. They went down the list, told me everything looks great, and thanked me for stopping by. I even got free donuts out of the deal. Two days later, I got a call from Wilder. The woman on the phone asked me how my service went, if I was pleased with the service and with how I was treated. I was elated. This is now my home Toyota. I will gladly drive all the way from Seattle to get my service done in Port Angeles because if the fantastic service, and speed, at Wilder. read more

Having just moved to Sequim, I was expecting to have the same shoddy buying experience when purchasing a new vehicle but was thrilled that Grant Williams and Wilder Auto made the effort actually better than painless -- it was unbelievably enjoyable. The finance manager was not showing her what finance options were coming through, giving her the option to pick the best rate. They did not do a walk around on the vehicle at the time of sale, sending her on the way with a cracked tail light. They also sent her on the way with less than a quarter tank of gas!!! The entire deal was the easiest and lowest stress purchase I have ever experienced. Everyone at the dealership was very professional and never pushy in any manner. Eric the sales manager was terrific in managing the purchase. Salesmen Manny and Tony were great from the test drive, to explaing all of the cars features, and after the purchase help syncing phones and any other needs we had with the cars features. Brought my Golf in for drivetrain warranty service during the warranty period. Was told that diagnosing codes related to the engine shutting down two pistons while driving was not covered by the drivetrain warranty, so paid out of pocket. The diagnosis provided was "we have no idea, drive it until it happens again, and if you can make it here and we are open and it's still under warranty, we might be able to help you." I got the same diagnosis from an independent VW repair shop for the same problem, but they refused to accept payment for 10 minutes of work. Since they had no warranty obligation, I insisted and was allowed to pay for 30 minutes of work. read more

We have been dealing with Parr VW which is now Haselwood VW since our debacle with Wilder in Port Angeles and it has been fantastic. They're extremely professional and have not had anything go wrong. They treat their customers very well. My wife and I will buy another VW from them again. We are updating our Jetta to go for a Golf GTI SE and again we will be doing business with Haselwood VW in Bremerton. It's worth the drive to get a professional experience and good after-sales service from Laurie in the service dept. Called there today to get warranty work done on my Surveyor and was told in not so many word that they could not help me since I didn't buy it there. Stay away if that's the way they treat potential customers. The only reason I did not buy there, was the model I wanted was not in stock. UPDATE: After my negative experience, I had 3 of the managers at Wilder personally reach out to me and apologize. That is customer service. Jim, Aaron and Erik all followed up with me. I felt valued, appreciated and overall that they genuinely cared about making me feel better and learning from and about my experience. The second time around, I dealt with Aaron Stronhauer and Caleb Messinger who answered every single one of my questions (no matter how small or silly) and took awesome care of me. They were transparent and straight forward and made sure I was made aware of all advantages and opportunities. I can't thank them enough! True customer service is acknowledging a wrong, working to make it right and successfully turning around a negative experience. I can't thank Caleb enough! I would 110% recommend going to him to buy a car! I was so disappointed in my experience at Wilder Honda especially after reading some of these great reviews. I went to Wilder looking for a new HR-V where I was approached by Tony who was great about showing me the different features of the car and took us on a test drive. I never felt pressured and he wasn't pushy which was really a selling point for me. I took another day or so to shop around and reached out to Tony telling him I was interested in trading in my car for the HR-V I had test drove. He was very responsive and I set up a time to come back in. He brought forward a trade in that I didn't see as fair but then was willing to bring it up to where I had wanted. When I started to try to negotiate the price of the vehicle, I was disrespected and treated like an idiot. I told him what the pricing on the car was on Kelley Blue Book and he told me that Kelley Blue Book does not do pricing on new cars (which is absolutely not true). He called me "honey" and to make matters worse said "sorry, I don't mean to talk down to you." As a young woman financing her first car, this was the type of experience I was dreading. I wanted to give Wilder my business after having such a positive experience test driving but, after this incident, I'm willing to drive 2 hours off the peninsula to go elsewhere. read more

Had a really great experience here. I highly recommend you request to work with Zack! It took 2 days for us to decide and he was never pushy or corny. When he saw I was stressed or not happy with something he fixed it or gave me a new option. Had my Mom, Sister and I genuinely laughing the whole way through. I'm a single Mom with a 3 year old and my car was so bad I couldn't drive to this dealership on the second day, Zack came and picked my son and I up all the way in Port Townsend.
